Meet Ringo, a 1-year-old English Bulldog/Pug mix weighing about 45lbs. Ringo has had a rough start and is looking for a patient, dedicated home to help him blossom. He is dog friendly and very curious about other dogs, we think it would be very beneficial to have a friendly, confident dog in the home. Ringo can jump or climb any barrier or fence. He cannot be off leash outside at all as he will escape and run away. Ringo is quite nervous and will need a couple meet and greets to get comfortable. Once he is comfortable, he thinks he is a lap dog and will jump onto staff or into their laps. His ideal home would be without kids and in a quieter environment, away from a lot of traffic.If interested in Ringo, please understand he will be foster-to-adopt as he will need time to decompress. We also have a behaviorist we utilize to help with the transition and adjustment.

Born around May 14, 2024, this sweet 18.4-pound boy was found exploring a local subdivision, charming multiple neighbors along the way. While everyone wanted to help the little runaway, Bandit proved himself to be quite the escape artist, cleverly digging out of various yards in his determined quest to find the action! Bandit is a true social butterfly. His main goal in life is to be right where the people are. When he gets loose, he doesn't run away; he rushes towards companionship! He is looking for a secure yard and a family who will give him plenty of attention and keep him close by, satisfying his deep desire to be part of the pack. Bandit has been fully vetted and is now receiving treatment for anaplasmosis, a common tick-borne disease discovered during his initial exam. He is doing great and just needs to complete his 30-day course of medication. He's on the mend and ready for his fresh start. This resilient, people-loving pug is eager to trade his days of solo adventures for a lifetime of cozy cuddles and family fun. We look forward to your response in regards for this delightful gentleman, but when you do, please use our application at sparrowdogs.com, or tell us a bit about yourself please. Meet Otto, he is perhaps a Pugchi, part Pug and part Chihuahua. We think the Pug genes gave him his love for the sedentary life, appetite and some girth. His Chihuahua side of the family tossed in a little bit of spice into that mix and gave him just a dash of attitude. He is a man of leisure. He enjoys a fine meal and a soft bed. He prefers his blankets swirled around his portly frame. Occasionally his face will poke out, just for a sniff, perhaps there is a snack headed his way?? Or...one of the other foster dogs might need his stern guidance if things are getting a little willy nilly. He does not suffer fools lightly.(lol) Well, with that said, that is the reputation Otto tries to uphold. He wouldn't want anyone to know that he really has a fun side, ya know! He can be a little cantankerous on occasion, but all that amounts to is a few grumbles. He wouldn't want to admit it, but he has had a lot of fun running around with the playful dogs in the yard. Even at 8-9 years old, he can be a spunky guy. Otto enjoys spending his time relaxing on a soft bed. He is looking for a more laid back home, and one that will understand that he may need a little time to get to know you. He will do well in a a dog savvy home that understands that it takes time to develop some relationships, and those can be the best ones!! He can be fine with kids, but we think perhaps teens, no little guys. Otto is fine with women, but really prefers men, he would like a buddy to hang around with. Story
Sam is a sweet pug looking for an experienced patient family that speaks 'dog'. Sam is a breeder release from a commercial facility. He hasn't had the benefit a dog his age might have who was born in a home. That being said, while he is scared and timid, once he feels safe he is longing to bond with a family. He will likely always be timid. He needs family who will help him slowly decompress and adjust in his own time. Sam s a friendly gentle guy He needs a fenced in yard for his potty place. He doesn't understand leash walking. Pugs tend to be Velcro dogs. They want to be close to a human, Sam is friendly, wags his tail and then retreats, He wants to be cared for, He needs to relax enough to know he can move forward without fear, He needs a patient adopter without expectations he will change but will give him the time to allow him to if he chooses, Like all dogs, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all dogs, not only to give Sam important learning skills, but because you and your dog will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Sam is fully vetted. She has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption fee is $800..00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Sam wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits.
