Story
Summer Shandy is a confident, social butterfly who never misses an opportunity to make a new friend. Whether she's greeting visitors, joining family activities, or soaking up attention from her favorite humans, she's happiest when she's part of the action. While she gets along wonderfully with the dogs, cats, and children in her foster home, it's clear that people are her favorite. If given the choice, she'll pick human companionship every time! This food-motivated girl is always eager to learn and loves earning treats for a job well done. She's also a huge fan of playing catch with her ball and will happily show off her retrieving skills whenever you're ready for a game. Once playtime is over, she's just as content to curl up nearby and relax. She has mastered the art of balancing fun and downtime, making her a wonderful fit for many different lifestyles. She is curious, friendly, playful, and always excited to see what the day has in store. She enjoys leash walks and is a fantastic walking companion. She can get a little excited and jumpy at times, especially when meeting new people, but she redirects easily and is eager to please. In a multi-dog home, Summer likes to be the one calling the shots. She does well with calm, respectful dogs and would thrive with canine companions who are comfortable letting her take the lead. She could also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one and only pup. Quick stats! --Dogs: gets along well with dog, but prefers being the alpha --Cats: gets along well with cats --Children: gets along well with children --Likes: playing catch, leash walks, and relaxing with her people Training Report Card: ⭐ House Training: A+ ⭐ Crate Training: Getting better every day! ⭐ Great with kids, dogs, and calm cats If Summer Shandy sounds like the right fit for your home, fill out an adoption application today! muttsofthemidway.org/adopt

Story
If you're looking for a lovable Puggle, Simba could be the perfect match!Simba is a sweet, friendly boy who is looking for a fresh start after losing his home because a family member developed allergies. He's a typical hound at heart and loves to follow his nose, happily sniffing out every interesting scent he comes across.Simba previously lived with another dog, though he has not yet been introduced to other dogs since arriving with us. We don't know how he does with cats, but he has lived successfully with children in his previous home.Because of his curious hound instincts, Simba will need a securely fenced yard with a fence that is at least 4 feet tall.Simba arrived with his son, Gordo. As we continue getting to know him, we'll share more about his personality and preferences. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a nose for adventure and plenty of love to give, Simba is ready to meet you!DOB 6-1-2130 poundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Story
Gordo is a lovable Puggle/Chihuahua mix looking for a patient, understanding home. He came to us after his previous family had to make the difficult decision to rehome him due to a family member's allergies.Gordo is a very sweet boy who can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he feels comfortable, his affectionate personality shines through. He is still working on his house-training skills and will need a family willing to help him continue learning with patience and consistency. In his previous home, Gordo lived happily with his father dog and did well with children. Because he can be timid at first, he would likely do best in a home with older, respectful children. He has not been introduced to new dogs since coming into our care, and he has not lived with cats. With his hound background, Gordo enjoys following his nose, so a securely fenced yard would be ideal to give him a safe place to explore and play. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion who just needs a little time to blossom, Gordo may be the perfect addition to your family.DOB 6-1-2427 PoundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes.
