Meet Ringo, a 1-year-old English Bulldog/Pug mix weighing about 45lbs. Ringo has had a rough start and is looking for a patient, dedicated home to help him blossom. He is dog friendly and very curious about other dogs, we think it would be very beneficial to have a friendly, confident dog in the home. Ringo can jump or climb any barrier or fence. He cannot be off leash outside at all as he will escape and run away. Ringo is quite nervous and will need a couple meet and greets to get comfortable. Once he is comfortable, he thinks he is a lap dog and will jump onto staff or into their laps. His ideal home would be without kids and in a quieter environment, away from a lot of traffic.If interested in Ringo, please understand he will be foster-to-adopt as he will need time to decompress. We also have a behaviorist we utilize to help with the transition and adjustment.

Say hello to our little friend, Sausage! This little 2 yr old 25 lb guy is a combination 100% cute and 100% adorable.  He has a mellow and playful personality.  During the day he likes to play with his squeaky toy or lay out in the sun.  In the evening, he is content lying on the floor watching TV.  He loves an occasional doggy treat but doesn’t bother us at dinnertime.  He is good with kids and other dogs.  He had a little curiosity about the cat, but she didn’t want to play so he went on to other things.  He has been good by himself, but we think he would enjoy having a playmate.  He likes to take care of himself and is very health conscious.  He eats on a regular schedule and tries to hit the gym 3 days a week.  He is housebroken, and at night he content in his crate but given the opportunity, he would love to snuggle under the covers. He would love a family home often to ensure he gets all those snuggles!  The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Hello, this is Buggs , a 1 year old, pug/chih mix male intact. he was brought to us from my aunt who lived next to his original family. he was always found outside in any weather conditions with no food or water. he has gotten loose multiple times that other people in neighborhood got concerned. Animal control was contacted and owners were told they need to give him up due to neglect. My aunt couldn't bare seeing him go to a scary shelter so she called us. We've only had him for a few days. We really need to find a good home as soon as possible. We already have three dogs in my house. He is such a love bug (hence his name) and has such a playful personality. Unfortunately he is not house trained nor has vaccines up to date since he's never been to a vet according to past owners. but besides that he is full of energy and is such a sweet boy!

This is a story that will tug at your heart. Hi. It’s me. Ava. Yes, I have the little squishy pug face. Yes, I am about six years old. Yes, I am soft in every possible way. They found me wandering around Calumet City. Just out there. Alone. I am a tiny girl and the world is big. Bigger when you cannot see it very well. We think I am blind. Or close to it. What I know for sure is that I navigate with my heart. The shelter was not the place for a girl like me. Too loud. Too fast. Too much. The rescue stepped in because no one wanted me trying to survive like that. I am not a high-maintenance diva. I am a calm, docile, snuggly little lady. I move slowly. I listen carefully. I memorize the shape of a room. Once I learn it, I am good. I will toddle around like I own the place. What I really want is a person. Someone patient. Someone steady. Someone kind. Someone who does not mind being my eyes. I will follow your voice. I will lean into your legs. I will curl into you like I have known you forever. I am the kind of dog who bonds deep. Not flashy. Not chaotic. Just loyal. Devoted. Yours. If your home is quiet and your heart is open, I think we might fit together perfectly. I am probably fine with dogs, cats and kids, but since I want a quiet home, I am going to try to be your solo love bug for now. Is that okay? Come be my world. I promise I will make you mine. Update - 03/19/2026:She is an attention seeker. She hears a voice and she jumps up to find you. LOVES FOOD. she does not like it if you take too long to get her bowl ready. She has started doing a low grumbling bark when she thinks your taking to long. Loves to cuddle and be close to her people. Can this girl get any cuter?We can't imagine what she went through when she faced uncertainty and is blind. Our hearts broke. We had to keep her safe and give her a chance at finding a loving home.
