Story
Meet Minnie, a 2-year-old Pug mix weighing 27 pounds with the cutest little underbite and a beautiful white chest and collar that gives her a “queenly” look. She’s as sweet as she is adorable and fully believes she’s here to love you… and collect a few treats along the way. Minnie is a happy, playful girl with a medium to high energy level. She loves playing with her foster dog siblings and enjoys toys, especially antlers and squeaky toys. She’ll chase a ball here and there, but she’d much rather engage with her people or other dogs than nap the day away. She’s very alert and will pop up quickly if she hears something new, making her both entertaining and a great little watchdog. She is house trained, though she has had a few recent accidents that may be related to medication she’s currently on while recovering from heartworm treatment. Minnie is crate trained with a little encouragement, especially if a treat is involved, and she settles in nicely once inside. When left alone, she does well resting in her crate for 4 to 8 hours. Minnie is great with tweens and teens and would do well in a home with or without kids. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those in the 30 to 60 pound range, and enjoys having playmates. Cats and other animals are unknown at this time. She’s a smart girl who already knows sit and shake and is currently working on “come here,” “lay down,” and “get in your box.” On leash, Minnie is still learning and can be a bit of a zig-zagger who pulls, but with consistency and a little patience, she’ll continue to improve. She is very food motivated, which makes training easier and fun. Car rides can make Minnie a little nervous, though she has already started improving. For longer trips, she may benefit from some calming support, but she’s making great progress and gaining confidence. Minnie’s ideal home is simply one that will love her. She’s affectionate, playful, and full of personality. When you look into her eyes, she seems to say, “I’m a cutie patootie, here to give you love and kisses,” and she truly means it. If you’re looking for a sweet, fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and shower you with affection, Minnie may be your perfect match. You can apply directly for Minnie by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-799 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT 🚀💛 Meet Rocket Man — Small Dog, Big Heart, Maximum Cuteness 💛🚀 Male • 3 Years Old • ~15 lbs • Pug/Chihuahua Mix Rocket Man may be a compact little guy at just 15 pounds, but his story — and his heart — are anything but small. When Rocket first arrived, he was so scared he wouldn’t even let anyone touch him. But with patience, kindness, and a whole lot of quiet encouragement, he slowly discovered that people can actually be pretty wonderful. Watching him blossom has been nothing short of amazing. Now this sweet boy has turned into a loving, affectionate little companion who enjoys laying beside you — or even better, right on top of you if you'll allow it. He’ll happily give kisses, accept kisses in return, and soak up every bit of love you’re willing to share. Rocket is still a sensitive soul, though. Quick movements or unfamiliar situations can make him a little nervous, and he’s still working on one big hurdle: being picked up. It’s something he’s learning slowly, and he’ll need a patient family willing to keep building his confidence at his own pace. Where Rocket truly shines is with other dogs. He absolutely adores them and will need a friendly canine sibling in his forever home to help him feel safe and secure. He forms strong bonds with his doggy friends — playing, cuddling, curling up for naps, and even giving them little “spa treatments” by licking their faces while they return the favor. To Rocket, dog friends are the best security blanket there is. He’s also very treat motivated. Say the magic words “Are you ready?” and you’ll see a tiny rocket launch straight toward you for his treat. And then there’s the adorable Rocket Man face — because this boy has the cutest little underbite. Sometimes his lips get adorably stuck on his teeth (which is honestly comedy gold), and when he’s napping you’ll often catch the tiniest tip of his tongue peeking out. It’s the kind of face that makes you laugh without even trying. 🐾 Rocket Man’s Highlights: • 3 years old • ~15 lbs (small but sturdy) • Sweet, affectionate, and loving once he trusts you • Loves laying beside you or right on top of you • Very playful and social with other dogs • Must have a friendly canine sibling • Great with cats • Good with respectful older kids who understand giving him space • Housetrained and knows how to use a doggie door • Treat motivated (snacks = instant motivation) • Famous for his adorable underbite, stuck lips, and sleepy “blep” tongue Rocket would do best in a quieter home — maybe with a retired person, someone who works from home, or a family that simply enjoys a calm environment. He thrives when life is predictable and gentle. And every day when you come home? Rocket will be the first one there to greet you, tail wagging, happy to see his favorite person again. This little guy has already come so far. Now he just needs a forever family willing to give him the love, patience, and security he deserves. And once you earn Rocket Man’s trust… you’ll have a professional cuddle buddy, and part-time comedy act for life. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give Rocket Man the forever home he’s been working so hard to find. 🐾💛
