Story
Brownie COH is a 2 year old neutered male Puggle and Boxer Mix with a warm, easygoing charm and a personality that feels instantly familiar—like he’s always been part of the room. Found by animal control in Hawthorne, he arrived with an “unplanned adventure” behind him, but he’s kept his outlook simple: be kind, stay curious, and see who’s ready to be your friend. He’s got a fun, wiggly spirit when he’s engaged, then settles into a steady, mellow presence that makes him easy to be around. Brownie isn’t demanding the spotlight—he just naturally earns attention with his sweet expression and relaxed confidence. He’s the kind of dog who fits into everyday life without complication: a walk buddy, a couch companion, a quiet comfort at the end of the day. Brownie is simple in the best way—good energy, good heart, good dog. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. Story
Penn is a sweet 5 year old Puggle with a gentle, loving nature. She was adopted as a puppy and grew up in a loving home, but life changes made it clear she deserves a calm environment where her personality can truly shine. She gets along well with other dogs and loves a peaceful, steady routine. Quick movements and small children can stress her, so she would thrive in a home without little ones. Spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready for cuddles, Penn is looking for a patient, loving family to give her the cozy home she deserves. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. Story
Kiwi and Mimi were used by breeders in a remote area north of Los Angeles and then dumped. They were found together and we think they are mother and daughter. They love each other and play and cuddle together as the best of friends. Kiwi and Mimi are both very person oriented and will gratefully soak up affection at the slightest invitation. They both enjoy going for walks and are leash trained and are excellent hiking companions. Kiwi and Mimi are also superb cuddle companions and love to snuggle up with you or just sunbathe. They are healthy, house trained, spayed, current on all vaccines and microchipped. Adoption only open to Southern California residents. We do not foster / adopt any of our dogs to households with children under 10 years old. A foster / adoption application must be filled out PRIOR to anyone meeting any of our dogs. To obtain an application go to www.deathrowdogsrescue.com, or contact drdrescue@gmail.com, or (818) 722-1810

Story
With a name like Champion Blue, you might expect a superstar...and this little guy sure lives up to it! At 10 years old and 17 pounds, Champion Blue has already overcome a lot in life, having been abandoned at a shelter simply for being a senior with a few minor medical needs. Thankfully, the shelter reached out to us to take him in and now he's ready to find the forever home he’s been dreaming of.Don’t let his age fool you Champion Blue has a spark of mischief and energy that will make you smile every day. He takes daily gabapentin for arthritis and an anti-inflammatory to keep him comfortable, but that doesn’t stop him from zooming across the room for treats, toys, or just to join the action. He’s a little wobbly on his feet sometimes, but his heart is full of courage, curiosity, and pure joy.Champion Blue loves the simple pleasures in life: cuddles on the couch, gentle pets, and long, lazy lounging sessions where he can soak up all the attention. But don’t be surprised if the quiet is broken by a sudden burst of playful zoomies or a funny little hop - he’s silly, spunky, and completely charming. He gets along with other dogs, especially calm companions who understand his pace, and he’s ready to share his home with someone who will adore him and help him age gracefully. Champion Blue’s perfect match is a quiet household, filled with love, patience, and lots of lap time. He may be a senior, but his heart is young, and he’s ready to be your loyal, goofy, and utterly lovable sidekick. He may have had a rough start, but his next chapter will be the happiest yet! Could you be the hero to his story? Please inquire today!

Story
Wezley is about 4 years old, just over 20 pounds, and fully aware that he has opinions. He came to us after being relinquished because he started resource guarding his previous owner from her husband. Wezley takes his people very seriously, what can he say! In the right home, this is something that can be worked on. He is currently on medication for anxiety, and with structure, training, and continued socialization, he has a lot of potential to improve. Now that you know the serious part, here’s the real Wezley:He is a velcro pug in the truest sense. He wants to be near his person, always. He loves cuddles, sunshine, car rides, walks, running around, and rolling in grass like it’s his job. Then he’ll flip the switch and happily go off to sleep on his own like nothing happened. He also knows a ton of cues already: sit, stay, down, spin, roll, speak, wait, shake, outside, and all variations of “food” and “treat.” He is very smart and very food motivated, which is a big advantage for continued training. He does have some things he’s not a fan of, including nail trims, ear cleaning, loud noises, some male humans, and some larger dogs. So he’ll do best with structure, clear boundaries, and someone who understands dog body language and management.Since being with us, Wezley has actually done well with other dogs and all the people he's met! He can groom and relax with other dogs and enjoys being part of a calmer group energy. He also really likes people and is very into attention and belly rubs once he trusts you.Wezley is a lot of dog in a small body. Smart, affectionate, intense about his people, and full of personality. He’s not a beginner dog, but in the right home, he’s going to be deeply loyal and very attached to his person. He knows exactly who he is. Now he just needs someone who’s ready for that! Could that be you? Please inquire today!

Story
Kili is about 4 years old, 17 pounds, and one of those dogs who completely changes the way you think about resilience. He came to us from a very difficult situation where he was repeatedly attacked by another dog in his previous home. As a result, he lost both eyes and is now completely blind. Despite everything he has been through, Kili is still curious, social, and very much interested in life! And honestly, he adapts faster than you’d expect. When he was fostered for a short time by one of our volunteers, he spent the first bit carefully mapping out the space, then confidently decided the coffee table was the perfect place to settle in! Once he learns an environment, he moves through it with surprising confidence.Kili enjoys sleeping in bed with his people, staying close, and being part of daily routines. Because he relies on his other senses, he stays very tuned in to sounds, voices, and especially anything happening in the kitchen. If food is being prepared, Kili will be right at your heels waiting for his share! He responds well to voice guidance and really enjoys being talked to and included. He’s affectionate, calm, and happiest when he knows where his people are. With other dogs, Kili does best with calm, mellow companions who aren’t overly rough or chaotic. He prefers a steady, predictable environment where he can feel secure. He would do best in a home where someone is around often, with a setup that is safe and easy to navigate for a blind dog. Once he learns his space, he does very well, but consistency is important for him.Kili is different, but not in a way that limits him. He’s in a way that makes you slow down and appreciate how adaptable dogs can be. He still wants connection, comfort, routine, and love just like any other dog. He's amazing!
