Story
Obi is a very smart young pup. He trains easily and is very loving. He was originally rescued from Tijuana before I took him in. I was told Obi was born in October of 2020. Ideally what I’d want for Obi is a family home. I live alone in a 1br apartment and I can see that he’s so much happier when he’s with the family in a home with other people around. He’s playful with other dogs. Has a lot of energy but is not aggressive in the slightest. I sometimes wonder if he even knows how to bite?

Story
Teddy is a 3 year old male Beagle and Corgi Mix who was found wandering alone in Watts by a Good Samaritan. This is a sweet boy who loves his walks around the neighborhood. He is good with kids. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. Please find our application at lovejoyfoundation.org when you come to an event please bring that filled out in hand with you. You can find our application at Lovejoyfoundation.org. The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc. does not adopt beyond a 30 mile radius from our headquarters in Inglewood. Sometimes exceptions are made in a particular situation for an adopter further out than 30 miles which is at the discretion of the director.

Story
❗Current location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ Say hi to OhGong👋 a sweet, friendly boy with a charming black muzzle! He was found on the street in South Korea at 3 months old and taken to a high-risk city shelter along with his five other siblings. Luckily, they were rescued right before euthanasia by the rescue team and started living with other dogs in the local shelter. Despite some time spent at the shelter, Ohgong was given a chance to live in his current foster home in June 2023. His current foster family has been taking good care of him since, and Ohgong has learned how to harmoniously live with people with love, and now he is ready to find his forever home😊 • Personality: Friendly, Sweet, Gentle Just like when OhGong was widely known for his super friendly personality among the shelter staff, he continued to be very loving and sweet to his foster family. He loves to kiss you and be petted by you. His energy level is medium. He is usually calm at home but becomes active when playing with toys! Plus, he is such a gentle walker. • Affinity with - Dogs: Very dog-friendly! He doesn’t even bark towards other dogs. - Cats: He tends to chase cats out of curiosity but doesn’t show aggression. - Adults/Kids: Good with people in general but a little bit shy around male adults / Okay with kids. He is rather indifferent to them. • Walking Manners: Super well-mannered! Pacing with his person without pulling the leash. He responds to “Let’s go” while sniffing around. • Housetrained: Fully housebroken, going potty outdoors as well as using pee-pads indoors • Separation Anxiety: None. He showed some signs of separation anxiety at the beginning of foster, but not anymore when two months of foster passed. He spends most of his time sleeping while he is left alone at home. • Bathing/Brushing: Tolerates both very well. • Car Rides: Very comfortable with car rides. • Barks/Howls: Almost none. Just a little bit of barking only when greeting his family at home. • Appetite/Food Allergies: No allergies. • Likes/Dislikes: OhGong LOOOVES playing with toys, especially squeaky ones! He seems to even prefer toys to treats. • Shedding level (1~10): 5-7 If you have an open heart and a loving home for Ohgong, please don't hesitate to apply!

Story
Moon was brought to a boarding/training facility, and never picked up.  Poor, sweet guy was left in a room with a glass door for over a year and a half. He's a medium sized Beagle mix with a beautiful brown and white coat. After his experience, he needs time to warm up to his human.  Moon is okay with larger dogs.  Not good with smaller ones.  Would be great as an only dog.  Although the diagnosis is unclear, Moon has weak hips which sometimes cause him to have accidents inside the house. Overall, Moon is a sweet and loyal dog who is looking for a forever home where he can be loved and cared for. Moon is trained for emotional support, and would be perfect for someone who needs that in their furry companion. A free training session is included for his new forever home. If you are interested in adopting Moon, please complete an adoption application on our website to be pre-approved:  www.dachshundrescueoflosangeles.com  October 29, 2024, 1:06 am

Story
Are you searching for your new running partner, hiking buddy, your ride or die?  Look no further.  This is the girl for you !! Tully's small size makes it easy to incorporate her into your home and those long legs will keep up (or outpace you) on all your adventures. Tully is one year old, and about 16 pounds.  She gets along with cats, but sometimes needs a reminder to be gentle while playing. She is whip smart, potty trained in a day.  She learns so quickly it's dizzying.  And boy can she jump. If you have ambitions to train a dog for frisbee competition, this girl is a prime candidate. Tully had a rough start in life so you will need time and patience to help her reach her full potential.  She was found living on the streets, and came into rescue with 3 two day old puppies.  She had pneumonia, and couldn't take care of them while being treated with strong antibiotics so her puppies were placed with another nursing dog. While she has improved exponentially, she is still very timid with people, especially men.  She is reactive to other dogs while on a leash, but warms up quickly when introduced off leash in a calm environment.  Once she feels trust, she is the sweetest cuddle bug.  She's quiet, and loves her kennel. If you are interested in adopting Tully, please complete an adoption application on our website to be pre-approved:  www.dachshundrescueoflosangeles.comDecember 5, 2024, 9:48 pm

Story
Benjamin has been through so much he was dumped at a high kill shelter then to a vet for care then was adopted and because he lunged at a person on a scooter the owners felt he was a liability. The truth Benjamin is a sweet smart amazing dog who can be a little territorial of his family in the house. He is small and very controllable. He is a sweet loving dog and deserves a good home who wants to do a little training and he will be fine. To adopt go to Eloiserescue.org located in West Hollywood, ca no out of state adoptions.
