Story
Meet Trixie! She just arrived in Colorado from New Mexico 7/8 and is learning that life is so fun here. Looking for a child free home for her She is a 1 year old spayed female around 20 lbs living in a foster home in Aurora with three other dogs. Trixie is initially a shy girl and would do well with another calm, small and friendly dog in the home. She would be fine as an only dog if she has patient adopters who will go at her pace while she learns to trust. While she is very nervous around new people, she is especially fearful of men putting leashes on her and at this time we think she would do best in very patient dog savvy home. She likely needs a home with no kids as loud noises and sudden movements scare her. Trixie's highlights: *Potty trained *Smart and treat motivated, already learned "sit" and "down" *Crate trained and sleeps quietly all night, she's also very chill all day while her foster mom works from home *Friendly and submissive girl *Great with other calm, respectful dogs *Does not mind being handled (by women) for grooming *Quickly mastered leash walks, currently doing well with a 1-2 mile walk per day *Recently learned to run alongside a bike Shots up to date Microchipped Spayed Comes with 2 free one on one dog training sessions

Story
Meet Boss — Fort Collins, CO 🐶🤎 Have you ever watched a shy dog slowly realize that humans can be kind? It is one of the most beautiful things to witness. Boss is a spunky, Approximately 1 year-old Rat Terrier with the most heart-melting eyes and the funniest little personality. He is approximately 10-12 lbs. He is part comedian, is learning to be cuddler, and full of potential. When Boss first arrived, he was very unsure of people. He likely never experienced gentle human touch before. But once he trusts you? He absolutely melts. He loves being rocked in a rocking chair, lightly pet, and even given little kisses on his head. He follows his foster mom everywhere and is learning how wonderful snuggly beds and couch blankets can be. He is still a bit skittish and will need someone patient who can go at his pace — but this sweet boy is SO worth it. Boss highlights: • Loves to run zoomies and laps in the yard Loves to chew on toys, sticks and pinecones • Big foodie (treat motivated!) • Hilarious, playful personality • Great with other dogs • Sleeps through the night in his kennel • Would thrive in a home with a yard and a playmate. • Not leash trained yet He is currently fostered in Fort Collins with a professional dog trainer who specializes in helping shy, unsocialized dogs gain confidence. The amazing part? She is offering a free training session to his adopter. This is not basic obedience — it is a confidence-building session designed to help you and Boss bond and help him transition successfully into your home. He would likely do well with: • A confident canine buddy (not required, but helpful!) • Older or calm children • Not sure about cats because the foster does not have any. Boss came from Oklahoma and deserves a fresh start full of patience, kindness, and safety. He is going to be incredibly loyal to his person — Rat Terriers are known for that. If you have a yard, a gentle heart, and room for a little shadow who will follow you everywhere… Boss may be your guy. Please consider giving this handsome boy his FurEver family 🤍 Apply today to meet Boss.

Story
Meet Mira! Looking for a sweet, playful sidekick? Mira might be your perfect match! At approximately 4 months old, Mira is a small-breed mix who will likely grow to around 20 pounds. She’s smart, curious, and always ready for her next adventure—but her favorite thing in the world is spending time with other dogs. Mira absolutely LOVES other dogs and needs a home with a canine companion. Having another dog to play with and learn from helps her thrive, and she’d be happiest with a built-in best friend. She’s already crate trained and is doing a great job with potty training. At the end of a fun day of playing and exploring, Mira’s favorite place is curled up next to her people for cuddles. If you’re looking for a loving puppy who will keep you smiling, make your dog a new best friend, and happily snuggle up with you every evening, Mira is ready to meet you. Story
Meet Penguin Male DOB: May 19, 2023 Weight: 22 lbs Breed: Jack Russell Terrier / Rat Terrier Mix Neutered (Fixed) Vaccinated Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Penguin is an outgoing, friendly little guy with a fun personality and a big zest for life packed into a small body. He loves being around people, enjoys interaction, and carries himself with the confident, entertaining energy Terrier lovers know and adore. He has matured beautifully into a lively companion who still enjoys playtime and activity while also loving affection and companionship from his humans. Penguin thrives when he feels included and part of the action. As a Jack Russell Terrier / Rat Terrier mix, Penguin may show traits such as intelligence, curiosity, alertness, and playful energy. Both breeds are known for being highly engaging, clever little dogs who enjoy staying mentally and physically active. Penguin would thrive in a home that can provide: Daily walks and playtime Mental stimulation and engagement Structure and consistency Companionship and inclusion as part of the family He would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a social, entertaining, and affectionate dog with lots of personality. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even dogs who appear well-behaved in foster care or at the rescue are still adjusting and learning. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Penguin will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and consistency Continued socialization and engagement Mental stimulation and routine Patience during adjustment periods Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, stability, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Penguin will need: Daily walks, exercise, and interaction Continued training and engagement Routine wellness exams and preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment Consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, preventative care, and emotional stability are all essential to helping him live a healthy and happy life. Penguin is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
