Story
** If you are interested in adopting Addie (or one of her puppies), please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ **
Addie is the sweetest dog ever, and such a great momma! This poor girl was picked up in Pampa TX as a stray, and brought into a small, overflowing, high kill shelter. After being in the shelter for a week, she gave birth to 6 puppies. Unfortunately one of her beautiful pups didn’t make it, and she was left with 5 gorgeous, healthy puppies.
The women who runs the shelter reached out to us at Farfel’s Rescue with a plea to save this mom and her pups before they were next in like to be euthanized for space at the shelter. Addie and her pups got a ticket to Colorado, and are now looking for their furever homes.
Addie is 1 year old, and 15 lbs.
She is believed to be a Rat Terrier / Chihuahua mix with maybe some Min Pin in her as well, although we can’t say for sure. Her breed is just an educated guess.
Addie is a bit shy at first, but warms up so fast and is the sweetest girl ever. She is great with other dogs, and her foster home has two kids, aged 6 & 8 that she does great with.
We assume that Addie has not had any prior training. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training. We therefore aren't willing to adopt out to a home that doesn't choose to offer this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force-free virtual and in-person trainers in your area.
Addie is up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs.
She is not yet spayed, as she just finished nursing. Farfel's covers the full cost of her spay, and it is REQUIRED to be done within one month and required to finalize your adoption.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
