Story
A SWEET LITTLE FRIEND: Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 18 lbs. Hi, my name is Rosey! I had a good home with a loving owner. In fact, I’ve been with him since I was a puppy. Sadly, his health has deteriorated, and he is no longer able to care for me. I know he loves me, so I am sad that my situation has changed, but I am grateful that Mostly Mutts has a place for me in the MM family, where I will get all the love and care I deserve while they help me find a new family to love and be loved by. I spent some time in the prison/foster training program offsite and learned a lot and gained some more confidence, too! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was selective as to which dogs I liked based on their temperament. A more calm, mellow dog would be best for me in my new home. So, if you have a nice, mellow dog at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I hadn’t been around young kids in my previous home or met any at Mostly Mutts yet, but if you have calm and quiet natured kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: My change of situation has left me a bit scared and shy as I adjust to shelter life. I DO warm up, so just allow me the time and space to feel comfortable. My personality shines when I am inside, as outside some strange noises or movements may frighten me. My former owner reported that some initial barking typically gives way to a friendly playfulness … with dogs and people alike. They also reported that I was very smart, so I know I will enjoy my training. Playful and sweet, I do have the typical rat terrier nature that creates zoomie sessions and a tendency to bolt, so keep an eye on gates and doors. / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, and I was reportedly used to a crate in my previous home. / My potty skills were good on the prison/foster training program schedule. Sometimes I get frightened or disturbed when I am outside going potty - when this happens, I may need you to let me try again later. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to play and have fun with people once I know them and feel comfortable. Toys (especially tennis balls) and treats are two of my favorite things. Zoomies in the play yard are great, and I would love a secure, fenced yard where we can have lots of fun together. Sudden movements make me nervous, so I would do best in a calmer, quieter home. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.
