Story
Hi my name is Oliver. I’m a 1 year old, neutered male, rat terrier. I had a rough start to life but now live my best diabetic life!  Yes I have diabetes and will need regular veterinary check ups and twice daily insulin injections to keep me healthy. I weigh 7lbs and will probably stay about this size. I love to be bossy and think I’m in the biggest dog in the yard but when I’m done I love to snuggle under the covers next to someone and sleep for hours. I also love to be out in the sunshine and roll in the grass. I love to be with people and would love a home with someone who is home and can let me out for potty regularly (I can’t last all day without going out a couple times throughout the day). My current foster home has big and small dogs along with cats and I get along with them all. My future will require cataract surgery in a few years and regular veterinary check up. The specialist suggests bloodwork every 6 months and my regular doctor recommends a glucose curve once a year unless I’m having issues. My insulin bottle and syringes lasts me about 2 months and currently eat regular dog food but might need prescription food later in life. Please know ahead of time that I require supervision and could have costly vet bills in my future. ##1697017##

Story
IggyBest Guess: Rat terrier about 15 lbs but tall and lengthy 12 years old with good energy still."He’s an easy dog, gets along with all my fosters big and small. Fine with the cats and loves people. He is house trained with no accidents as long as you stick to the routine you two come up with. Iggy has extreme crate anxiety (like rub his nose till it bleeds and pull your teeth out trying to escape anxiety. 2 hours in the crate when he first got here and I realized I had to have a different plan for Iggy.) The couch is his preferred spot to sit. He likes to curl up in the corner of the couch on top of the two pillows to be as comfy as possible. He deserves all the comforts in life." ~ Foster momVetting: Heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Senior bloodwork is good. Iggy came to rescue with horrible teeth. He had a dental and they pulled all but 2 teeth. With two teeth, I would figure he would want canned food, and he does, but he will also go around and eat any dry kibble dropped on the floor or left over in someone's dish. Iggy has a sensitive stomach and needs to be on special food.To fill out an application visit https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/33868/generic Once Approved we will get you on the schedule to meet this handsome gentleman. ##1564922##

Story
See those cute puppies on our website right now? Well, Eddie wants you to know that the vintage, preowned models are so much better and that he is one of the finest examples you'll ever meet. First of all, he would argue that if you know anything about the legendary lifespan of the rat terrier, then at his estimated age of 10 or 11, he's not all that old. True, he is preowned, but his former owner died, and he wants so badly to belong to someone again. He's house-trained and well-mannered, except for occasionally swiping your shoes in order to entice you to play with him.    Eddie gets along with other dogs, but he could probably be happy being your one and only if you're home most of the time. While not a fan of hugging and kissing, he loves to be around you. Somehow he'll manage to sneak his 16 lbs. right onto your lap without you noticing! And if he's not in your lap, he'll be right next to you, even at bedtime. He seems to love everybody he meets, including kids as long as they respect his desire not to be hugged or kissed. On the other hand, he thinks cats and other small animals are meant for chasing, so he would not be a good candidate for a home with cats.    Eddie will amaze you with his energy and love of taking walks, especially when you consider that he has IVDD (intervertebral disc disease), for which he takes a daily pain pill (average monthly cost is $10, and during occasional flare-ups, he'll need additional meds and limited activity while he recovers.) He also gets a little over-the-counter Benadryl for itchy skin and eye drops for dry eye. (Drops cost less than $25/month.) But none of these things can stand in the way of his walks! The boy looks forward to and NEEDS his daily walks. He enjoys meeting people and getting a friendly pet, and he has been known to wait at certain spots in the hope that he'll encounter his new friends again! If you're looking for a walking partner and a wonderful companion, you've just found him! His name is Eddie, and he's ready to be yours! Story
Ellie, with her adorable elfin eyes, is almost too cute for words! Just 2 to 3 years old and weighing 12 lbs., this sweet mixture of what we guess to be mainly rat terrier with a bit of Chihuahua and beagle is just about perfect! She is completely house-trained and loves to cuddle and sit in your lap. She wants to be a loyal companion to someone who can be home with her most of the time.   Ellie gets along with the other easy-going dogs in her foster home. She's quite happy to let them take the lead, but outside the home, she can be like a mini mama bear making sure that her canine foster pack is safe. There'll be no 'outsider' dogs picking on her doggy friends if Ellie has anything to say about it. She is also fine around cats.     Ellie has a special talent--she likes to sing!!! Put on your favorite song, and she'll sing along with you every time!! You can see more photos of Ellie in her online photo album at imageevent.com/newrattitude/ellie .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
Kenzie is such a sweet girl with such a pretty smile!! She is good with kids, people, other dogs and cats :-)  Kenzie  walks well on leash, has great indoor manners, is calm and sweet, is not a Barker or chewer. She loves lazy day naps, cuddling and the perfect size lap warmer. Kenzie is not super energetic but will never say no a game fetch and looks forward to her daily walks, she is intent on losing a few pounds, some of us can relate LOL ;-) Kenzie has adventurist side, takes her outing as opportunity time to make or see friends, furry four legged or two.  Kenzie is housebroken or will use potty pads and will be the perfect family girl. If you are looking for a sweet and loving new family member, look no further than gorgeous Kenzie!! Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  ##1703644##
