Story
Love-bug Wilson is an 8-year-old male rat terrier mix who weighs about 15 lbs. Wilson is a true couch potato and would prefer a quieter, more relaxed home to lounge his days away. He's an affectionate, kind soul whose favorite past times are eating, sleeping, and snuggling with his people.  He is fully house-trained and gets along well with other dogs and dog-savvy cats. Wilson does enjoy playing with other dogs but he's also content living as a single dog...as long as he receives lots of love from his people! Wilson requires a fenced yard that he can enjoy relaxing in and enjoying sunny days.  To ensure your home is a good fit for Wilson, a local adopter in GA is required. If you are looking for a totally sweet, mellow guy that loves to spend time with his people, then Wilson might be the perfect dog for you. For more photos of Wilson, go to https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/wilsonOur adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Have you heard the news??? Zara is available to be adopted . . . with NO ADOPTION FEE!! A huge thanks goes to Animal Legal Defense Fund for this! Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. She can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates from the program in mid-December. August 11, 2024, 12:13 am

Story
A SWEET LITTLE FRIEND:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 18 lbs.  Hi, my name is Rosey!  I had a good home with a loving owner.  In fact, I’ve been with him since I was a puppy.  Sadly, his health has deteriorated, and he is no longer able to care for me.  I know he loves me, so I am sad that my situation has changed, but I am grateful that Mostly Mutts has a place for me in the MM family, where I will get all the love and care I deserve while they help me find a new family to love and be loved by. I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet.                  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, but my previous owner says I am shy around other dogs initially, but then I warm up and want to interact with them.  If you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I hadn’t been around young kids in my previous home or met any at Mostly Mutts yet, but if you have calm and quiet natured kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me.      • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  My change of situation has left me a bit scared and shy as I adjust to shelter life.  I DO warm up, so just allow me the time and space to feel comfortable.  My former owner reported that some initial barking typically gives way to a friendly playfulness … with dogs and people alike.  They also reported that I was very smart, so I know I will enjoy my training. Playful and sweet, I do have the typical rat terrier nature that creates zoomie sessions and a tendency to bolt, so keep an eye on gates and doors.  / My energy level is 4-6.    • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and can't wait to learn lots of new skills with my trainer!  Check back soon to see my progress. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, and I was reportedly used to a crate in my previous home. / I will need you to help me with my potty skills, as I was likely not able to be on a consistent schedule in my previous home, given my owner’s health issues.  A good schedule and positive reinforcement will have me on the way to mastering my potty skills.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to play and have fun with people once I know them and feel comfortable. Toys (especially tennis balls) and treats are two of my favorite things.  Zoomies in the play yard are great, and I would love a secure, fenced yard where we can have lots of fun together, as I DO show a bit more confidence when outside with my people. / Sudden movements make me nervous, so I would do best in a calmer, quieter home.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a loving home with a great family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  October 3, 2024, 12:41 pm

Story
Meet Amalfi! This sweet girl joined the Hero pack in August of this year, and is just precious. She’s a 5 year old Chihuahua mix, and quickly proved what a good girl she is. She is crate and potty trained, and she loves to play with sticks and her other toys. She loves attention (who doesn’t?!), and gives back the affection that she receives. She gets along well with smaller dogs, although the big guys do scare her a bit, so a slow introduction would work best. She does best eating separately from other dogs but is working on getting better at that. Hey, nobody’s perfect, right? This sweet pup would love to meet her forever family soon, and show what a great, loving family member she will be! Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
