Story
Gumbo is an adorable tri-color Rat Terrier/Cattle Dog mix looking for his forever family! He is 5mo old, and currently weighs 22lbs. When full grown, he will likely mature around 45lbs. This sweet boy is dog friendly, and although he hasn&#39t been kid tested, he would likely love kids too! Gumbo is very smart and picks up quickly on everything he is taught - he is crate trained, house trained, and knows sit and shake! Gumbo has lots of puppy energy, and loves to play and run with the other dogs in his foster home. Once he tuckers himself out, he enjoys cuddling up by your side! Gumbo would love an active forever family, and would be an excellent addition to a house with other fun loving dogs. He is well behaved in the car, and would enjoy going on fun outings. A fenced yard would be ideal for this playful boy! Gumbo will be fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped before an adoption is finalized. If you&#39re interested in adopting this sweet boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.April 18, 2024, 12:35 am

Story
I'm Eddie and I'm ready to be your one and only. I don't really like sharing the limelight (or my food), and I've got plenty of personality to satisfy any dog lover. Quality over quantity, I say.    I'm about 12 years old with the playfulness of a puppy. Stuffed toys (and their destuffing) are my passions. I love to parade around the house with a toy in my mouth. Wanna play chase and try to get my toy? Game on! Let's play! I want to be your #1 fan and you to be mine. I'll follow you around the house, and you'll let me sleep in your bed, OK? I'm only 18 lbs.; I won't take up much room. (Just don't poke me with your elbow while I'm asleep. I can be grouchy.)   When I'm out and about, I like meeting people, even kids (after a brief bark to introduce myself), but I'm not a fan of great gatherings or new events inside my--I mean, OUR--home. Dogs are OK as long as they are not big and scary and don't expect me to share my food or your attention with them. I'm good friends with the cat across the street, but other cats (and lizards) were made to be chased. I potty outside using a dog door except when it's raining. I would appreciate alternatives in the event of inclement weather.    For a gentleman of a 'certain age,' I'm in pretty good health, but I do have two issues that respond well to meds and human TLC. I take Apoquel ($90/month) for a skin allergy that has so far defied identification and a daily pain pill ($10/month) for a disc problem in my back. Pricey? Not compared to the gratitude you'll get from me. That's priceless! Check out more photos of me at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/eddie .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. NewRattitude.org/adopt/  From there, you can access our adoption application or contact our Adoption Team for more info. April 16, 2024, 9:33 pm

Story
Have you heard the news??? Zara is available to be adopted . . . with NO ADOPTION FEE!! A huge thanks goes to Animal Legal Defense Fund for this! Because of ALDF, actress Kate Mara is sponsoring the adoption fee for some of our amazing dogs! Wow - can you believe it?? You can adopt one of our great dogs, and spend the adoption fee on new toys, soft beds, and yummy treats instead! ara, named Blyss at the shelter, ended up there when someone called and said there was a dog on their front porch. We don't know if she was lost, or someone had dumped her, but no one came to get her, until we did. This girl, who we think is a mix of rat terrier, min pin and a little bit of pittie, is a petite girl. She weighed 29 pounds when we pulled her from the shelter, and was a bit underweight, with some filling out to do. She is about 2 years old now, and is at her perfect weight, weighing about 38 pounds. She has a slender little body with long legs, a beautiful red brindle coat, and ears for days! If you have wanted a dog to do dog sports with - like agility - this sweet athletic girl may be a great fit for you! Like all of our dogs, Zara is in Atlanta. She can be adopted at any time, and will be available to go to her new home when she graduates from the program in mid-December. April 13, 2024, 6:42 pm

Story
Heidi is a petite, very sweet, 1 year old (born Jan 2023), tri-pod Rat/Wirehaired Terrier that has "never met a stranger." Also, if you think think losing a leg has slowed her down in anyway, it hasn't. Not 1 bit. Her foster family's love and care was instrumental in her recovery.. Foster Mom said she was up and walking/running with 1-2 days of surgery, like nothing had happened. Heidi loves playing with dogs both big and small, running, exploring and getting all the attention she can get. She loves cats; maybe a bit too much. She will follow them all around and tries to nuzzle them. Most cats do not appreciate that. Heidi loves children but is best with those over five. She may be too rambunctious for little tots. She is already crate trained and almost completely housetrained! Heidi does get distracted when outside on walks, so potty breaks are best in a backyard away from distractions. A fenced in yard is ideal. If you are wanting a wonderful family dog, look no further; Heidi is the complete package. Did I mention she is adorable? You'll fall in love with this sweet face and those ears :):).To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.

Story
Toby is a 13lbs, 7-year-old,  sweet and mellow dog. Toby is 13 lbs. He has a  gentle spirit  and is an absolute bundle of snuggly love. Toby is well mannered, enjoys leashed walks, and will always take you up on a car ride. He takes treats gently from your hand and patiently waits for his food bowl at mealtime. Toby will do well as an only dog so that he can have all your love and attention. He is currently in a foster home with both big and small  dogs, and  he does well with all of them. Toby can be a bit timid at first meet but after a few days of trust earning, he will be a loyal companion. Adoption fee $300.    Visit ruffredemption.org to complete an application. All Ruff Redemption Dogs are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They also receive a minimum of two distemper/parvo vaccines, medication for the treatment and prevention of intestinal worms, and monthly heart worm/flea prevention while in our care. Rabies vaccines are given if the dog is 16 weeks of age or older.  April 17, 2024, 11:06 pm
