Story
ADOPT CORA! Cora, a 2 year old, 14 pound spayed female Rat Terrier mix, is a happy active girl who loves everyone she meets, even kids, over age 8. She gets along great with the other small dogs in her foster home. She, however, doesn’t like larger dogs. If you have an equally active young dog Cora would like a playmate. Since she can be a bit of a pest when she wants to play, she is not a good match for a home with a non-playful or senior dog. Due to her prey drive NO CATS, BUNNIES etc. Cora loves to snuggle. When it’s bedtime Cora sleeps snuggled in bed under the blankets with her foster mom. Cora will also follow you around the house. Wherever you are is where she will be. You will never shower alone again. Small dog secure fenced yard required. Adopter must be located within 40 minutes of Steger, Illinois. She is house trained with reminders and uses potty pads. Cora’s adoption fee $495. Cora is up to date on shots, spayed, microchipped, fecal checked, heartworm negative and current on heartworm and flea prevention. If you believe this wonderful little girl is for you, go to our website heathersfosterdogs.org. Then click on Adoption Application in the menu at the top of the page to find our electronic application which serves as the basis of a conversation. Submit it & you will be contacted. We will make arrangements to meet with prospective adopters for Cora only after a submitted application has been reviewed & a phone conversation taken place. ***Please note that we are a foster based group located in the southern suburbs of Chicago. Again, Cora’s adopter must be located within 40 minutes of Steger, Illinois.**

Story
Bernie is a young adult boy that is playful, friendly and looking for his forever home!  He is approximately 1-2 years old old and weighs about 15lbs. Foster home update: Bernie is a little shy at first, but, give him a couple of hours and he will be your best friend! He is house trained when kept on a schedule and is also crate trained! He has the cutest little smile with his underbite. He's great with kids and warms up to adults and other dogs. Fetch is his thing, whether it's a ball or anything that squeaks. Sweet and adorable. Anyone would love him as an addition to their family! We recommend training for all our dogs!     Thanks to a  generous donor  Bernie's adoption fee has been reduced to $100 to help him find a home quicker! **Breed or size (once fully grown) is a 'best guess' and is not guaranteed since they arrived into rescue without either parent. **Magnificent Mutts is an all foster home based rescue and meets are held by appointment with the entire family in attendance. Please ensure your current pets are up to date with vetting, have landlord/HOA approval and are prepared to take your new family member home at the adoption appointment.  Thank you for your interest!                             If you are interested in adoption, please complete the "Application to Adopt" which can be accessed from this link: (     www.magnificentmutts.org )  No phone calls please, emails only. Adoption donations range between $400-$450 (cash only), unless otherwise noted. Prices are subject to change, please contact for specific adoption donation. Meet Kiko and Kody! These adorable 8-year-old Rat Terrier brothers came to us after being surrendered to local animal control. They are sweet little guys who love to sit on your lap or shoulders. Kiko is a bit over 10lbs and Kody is a bit under 10lbs. They are a bit picky about dog friends, but seem to do better with small, mellow females. They're wonderful boys and have quickly become staff and volunteer favorites! Kiko and Kody are a bonded pair and looking for a home together.

Story
Pip is 8 months old and weighs about 12 pounds. He’s a very sweet, submissive, and naturally shy little guy, with a quiet temperament and a gentle way about him. These puppies have just arrived from a breeder/hoarding case where there were simply too many dogs for the owner to care for properly. Despite their rough start, they are incredibly sweet, peopleoriented puppies who are already soaking up affection and routine in their foster homes. They are friendly, gentle, and eager to bond with their new families. They enjoy being held and are adjusting beautifully to normal home life. As with all puppies coming from overcrowded environments, they may be a little cautious at first, but they warm up quickly with kindness and consistency. We are working on housetraining; they love to go outside and run in the yard. Something they didn't have the chance to do before. These puppies currently use a pet door in their foster home to go outside for potty breaks. This routine has helped them understand that potty happens outdoors, which makes their transition easier even if you don’t have a pet door. They will still need patience, supervision, and continued training as they adjust to your home and layout. What They Come With• Vetchecked  • Ageappropriate vaccinations  • Dewormed  • Heartworm & flea preventatives  • Spayed/neutered  • Microchipped   Adoption Fee & DepositA $50 refundable deposit is required to place a temporary hold on a puppy until your adoption appointment. This helps prevent lastminute cancellations and respects the time of our foster families. If you meet the puppy and decide not to adopt, your deposit is fully refunded. Adoption Fee is $500 Adoption Requirements• A fencedin backyard suitable for a small/medium dog  • An adult home during the day with time for a young puppy  No crating for puppies — adopters must use an approved puppy playpen  • Children age 7+ (younger considered casebycase)  • Homes with no dogs or up to one small/medium dog   ##2681160##

Pauley weighs about 14 pounds, and he is 8 months old. He has a very sociable, friendly personality. When he first arrived, he had quite a bit of skin irritation, but it has fully cleared, and his coat is already growing back in nicely. He is a merle boy with soft, bluish eyes.
