Story
MEET REX-POODLE/RAT TERRIER MIX – SENIOR IN URGENT NEED OF A NEW HOME ** He was heading to ACC Shelter December 4th but we were able to take him into foster** Rex has known nothing but a loving home since he was a puppy. He has been a family member since they brought him home as a puppy. Rex’s Mom can no longer care for him, as she is transitioning to a new living situation. Rex is a social, affectionate and loving boy, still active and playful even in his golden years. Rex is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. Rex is approximately 10 years old, a Poodle/Rat Terrier Mix, and weighs 25 pounds. He is a good boy, house broken and happy walking on a leash. He loves peanutbutter, gravy bones and bacon strips, in other words, he loves all treats. Rex can be shy at first, until he gets to know his new surroundings and friends. He has no experience living with children or cats but doing well with his foster families dog. As always, an introduction would be needed. Please consider opening your heart and home to this sweet, social, playful young at heart boy. Story
Adorable Puppy Alert! Say hello to Cricket, an awesome 6 month old little girl who is just 17 pounds! She has a happy and joyful personality and absolutely loves everyone she meets. We think she's a Rat Terrier mix and will likely be 35-40 pounds when she's fully grown. She has a beautiful black coat with the cutest white socks and white markings on her chest. Her Foster Mom has so many great things to say about her...she's smart, curious, loves to play, up for any adventure and is so innocent and trusting. She just wants to be loved and give love. She gets along great with other dogs and is very respectful when she meets them. We think she'd thrive in a suburban setting and would love a doggie sibling but could also be a solo pup in an active lifestyle family. Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to get lots more info, photos and videos on this sweet baby!

Story
Nikki is a 14 wk nugget, adorable little mixed breed puppy and we think she is so cute we can hardly stand it! She is well socialized, friendly, loves to play with her dog friends, LOVES people, and is just generally a very good time. Hobbies are napping, eating, finding mischief, and stealing kisses! Working on potty training which we haven't gotten on the same page yet. She sleep in the human bed at night & after some pets and belly rubs, she settles down with her neck resting on you. She's pretty confident in herself and sometimes she thinks she's boss. Waiting for her forever home. This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Maddie, a sweet and spirited 7-year-old mixed terrier looking for her perfect forever home. She’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and happiest playing fetch, splashing in the water, or snuggling under a blanket with her humans. She adores ear scritches, baby carrots, and learning new tricks—especially when treats are involved! Maddie also loves tracking chipmunks. While her recall is excellent, a fenced yard is ideal to keep her safe during her explorations. She’s a sensitive soul who thrives with a little support and takes daily antianxiety medication and Proin, both of which she often takes with cheese! Maddie prefers all four paws on the ground and does not enjoy being picked up. She would do best as the only dog in a calm, adult home—young children and other dogs make her nervous, and she blossoms most when she feels secure. If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly companion with a playful streak and a big heart, Maddie might be your perfect match!

Story
Rio came to us as an owner surrender when his family was losing their home to eviction. He was one of a number of dogs in the home that needed new homes, and we were able to take 3 of them. Rio is a friendly boy who is somewhat timid when he first meets new people or encounters new situations. He warms up quickly! There's no aggression - he's just a little scared at first.\ He loves other dogs and we would like to see him in a home with at least one other dog. He was best friends with a dog in his former home, and seems to love having a canine companion or two. He would be happy to live with children 10 years old or older. Rio is a wonderful boy who will make a great family member!
