MEET REX-POODLE/RAT TERRIER MIX – SENIOR IN URGENT NEED OF A NEW HOME ** He was heading to ACC Shelter December 4th but we were able to take him into foster** Rex has known nothing but a loving home since he was a puppy. He has been a family member since they brought him home as a puppy. Rex’s Mom can no longer care for him, as she is transitioning to a new living situation. Rex is a social, affectionate and loving boy, still active and playful even in his golden years. Rex is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. Rex is approximately 10 years old, a Poodle/Rat Terrier Mix, and weighs 25 pounds. He is a good boy, house broken and happy walking on a leash. He loves peanutbutter, gravy bones and bacon strips, in other words, he loves all treats. Rex can be shy at first, until he gets to know his new surroundings and friends. He has no experience living with children or cats but doing well with his foster families dog. As always, an introduction would be needed. Please consider opening your heart and home to this sweet, social, playful young at heart boy. He assumes a perfect "sit"…no command needed. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30. Story
Elvira is a 2-year-old, 12-pound Chihuahua mix, who made her way from Mexico and is now living her best life while waiting for her forever home. Elvira is the perfect mix of energetic, playful, and oh-so-cuddly. She loves zooming around just as much as she loves curling up on the couch for a cozy snuggle session with her humans. Since arriving in Williamsburg, she’s adjusted beautifully and continues to grow more confident every day. Elvira enjoys spending time with her foster sister Silvie (a fellow Chihuahua), going on long neighborhood walks, and snuggling up in bed with her foster family at night. She appears to be pee pad trained and is making great progress, though she’ll benefit from continued positive reinforcement to master full outdoor potty training. With a little consistency and encouragement, she’ll be a pro in no time! Elvira walks wonderfully on a leash and truly thrives in the city — she’s calm, patient, and very friendly with other dogs. She’s also done well having free roam of her foster family’s apartment. While she was a bit anxious when first left alone, she quickly settled in and is now relaxed and comfortable at home, especially with her foster sister by her side. Elvira is looking for a family that enjoys being active but loves to relax too. She would love to have another dog at home (a couch potato or an active pup would both make her happy!) and would likely be okay with gentle children - although we haven’t yet seen her interact with kids.  Elvira would make an amazing companion for someone looking for a sweet, lively, and affectionate little shadow to share their days (and couch!) with.  Vaccinated for Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Neutered and microchipped. Tested for vector-borne illnesses. Current on flea, tick, and heart worm prevention.  To apply to adopt Elvira, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2668169##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lacie is with our rescue partner in Louisiana and can come to NJ if we find a foster or adopter. Meet Lacie — the ultimate mom friend in dog form  This sweet little Rat Terrier was dumped with her four puppies, raised them right, and watched each one find their forever home. Now it’s her turn.   Lacie has been through a lot — heartworm treatment (check ), old leg injury (check ), but she’s tougher than your morning coffee and faster than her limp lets on. She can even clear a 36-inch barrier when her foster mom dares to walk into another room!   She follows her person everywhere (loyalty level: stage 5 clinger ), loves other dogs, and even “plays chase” with cats like the playful aunt she is. She’s leash-trained, rides beautifully in the car, and always looks out for her furry friends. She’s ready for her happy ending — a home where she can love, nurture, and maybe supervise your every move (just a little).   Ready to give this devoted mama the life she deserves?  Lacie is up to date on vaccines and is fixed. Her     adoption fee is $450.    Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to  wag-on-inn.com . To apply, click  HERE  or on our website, go to Adoptable Pets and Adoption Application. A Wag On Inn volunteer will be in touch soon!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 25, 2026, 6:40 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Online Adoption Application Maybelline came with her baby. Baby was adopted.  She is a quirky dog,  typical Jack Russell type,  she gets along with other dogs but needs a few days to get to like the new dog as she feels she is queen bee.   She is very active, loves running around and playing with toys and other dogs, not really great with cats or small animals,  typical rat terrier jack russell.  Would do great with other Jacks or Rat Terriers or alone as well but needs time to adjust to new surrounding. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 10:44 pm
