Scottie is a 2.5 year old rat terrier (Embark -100% Jack Russel breed) that I got from a FB post on a group I follow when his original family needed him rehomed asap. Scottie was my 4th dog and now I have 5 but he is my smallest. I'm a big dog person and I now understand small dog personalities and how different they can be. Scottie gets along with other dogs and does well in a pack but he has a very high prey drive that has led to some close calls with my cats and now that my cat is expecting kittens I don't want to take the chance. If you're used to small dogs or are familiar with their personality traits then Scottie is perfect. He loves walks and being outside.

Hello there, I’m Terry. A handsome little Rat Terrier mix, about 3 years old and 11.8 pounds. I was seen at the border of Mexico just hanging around a business all by myself, so when I was spotted again later that day, sleeping on a pile of rocks, and locals said I had no owner, I was smuggled across and am now living in a foster home in Von Ormy, Texas. I totally hit the lottery that day, now loved and cared for, well-fed, clean and happy, vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and ready for one more adventure to find a forever home! My foster mom says I am a people dog and a ladies' man, meaning that I prefer ladies over men, and although I get along great with other dogs, I’m not playful with them. I can be a bit shy around men at first, but a gentle and patient man who will sit with me while I get comfortable would be A-okay. Otherwise, I am a very friendly little dog who would make an excellent lapdog. I am affectionate and will gaze at you with love-filled puppy eyes like you are my entire world, and although my foster mom will smother me with kisses, I don't give them in return. I only want to be near you… following you around the house, snuggling on the sofa, going for a walk to the park, or riding beside you on a road trip, while wearing my doggy seatbelt to keep me in the seat, otherwise I would be in your lap. When left home alone, I enjoy sitting on a pillow on a little bench, so I can watch the world go by outside the window. I will cry when put in a crate, but will eventually settle down. I am allowed to be free-range in my foster home since I am well-behaved, housebroken, and only bark when I need to alert you. Meet little Minnie! Found abandoned in a motel parking lot, Minnie has definitely been through a lot in life. Estimated 10-12 years, tiny Minnie has the energy of a much younger dog! She loves a long walk, eagerly jumps up on the couch with her foster humans, and can’t resist a delicious treat. Minnie is house trained and does not have accidents in her foster home! She enjoys walking calmly on a leash and walks well with the other small dog in the home. When it comes to cats, Minnie is your girl! She happily lives and shares space with 5 cats in her foster home, even getting in her cozy bed with one sometimes! She does well with other small dogs too. Given that Minnie is an older lady, we recommend she is adopted to a home with older children (or none at all!). She lives with elementary school aged kids in her foster home, and is very behaved with them, but we think she would appreciate a calmer and quieter environment as she ages! Jack was born in rescue after his mother was surrendered when owner passed away. He and his sister were the only surviving pups. The mother rejected them at 2 weeks, and they were bottle fed until able to eat puppy food. Jack is a good and smart little boy. He has mastered pee pad training and will start learning house training very soon. We do not allow puppies to touch ground until they have received multiple distemper parvo vaccinations. His siter is with a foster to adopt and now it's Jack's turn to find his family. Look into those eyes and tell me he isn't the most handsome little guy. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Lucy was surrendered from her family because hospice came and the family could no longer care for her. Lucy is a very affectionate little girl that loves to snuggle under the covers with you at night. She loves to walk on a leash and go for car rides.
