Story
Emma is a beautiful 10 month old puppy. After a difficult beginning she is learning to trust people. Emma has now begun her new life in her foster home, getting lots of pets and love. Emma takes a short while to warm up to new people, but then, armed with treats, she will be your BFF. Since she is food motivated, Emma is receptive to training. As she gains confidence, she enjoys her walks more and more. She is friendly and playful with other dogs, regardless of size, but is not a fan of cats. Emma is house broken, crate trained, enjoys the company of other dogs, and tends to learn and gain confidence from them. For this reason her forever home should be one with a canine companion. Emma will do well in a calm home in a quiet environment. She is fine with kids once she knows them, as long as they are respectful. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.

Story
Meet Violet, a charming seven-year-old, 15 lb. Rat Terrier/Miniature Pinscher mix with a frosted face, the cutest ears, and soulful brown eyes. She was surrendered to the shelter last year after her owners moved away, deciding to leave this sweet girl behind. Sadly, once again, Violet is losing her home after being adopted six months ago as she's no longer getting along with the other dog she lives with. Violet enjoys the finer things in life, like basking in the sun, rolling around in the grass, and snuggling. She’s gentle and loves being around both furry friends and humans alike. She was previously living in a home with a cat too! She’s very loving and affectionate, but can be a bit timid around humans at first. She’s good in a crate, house trained, and food motivated, making her an excellent candidate for learning new tricks! In fact, she has an incredible talent for standing on her back legs when offered a treat. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who will bring happiness and smiles to your home, Violet is ready to become part of your family! Her adoption fee is $400 and she is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. Violet also qualifies for our Senior-to-Senior discount so if you’re 60 years or older, you can adopt her for just $300. If you are interested in this cutie, please complete the application at https://form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
Meet Dari❤️ Dari was brought to the Gimje Shelter with her six puppies. Despite having skin diseases all over her body, she took care of her babies but one of them passed away. With the cold winter coming soon, Adogs was very concerned about the health of Dari and her pippies, and urgently rescued them. * With People: Needs some time to warm up to strangers. Approaches when called but might get startled if you suddenly raise your hand. Feels more comfortable and gives her face to familiar people. * With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs at our center without any issues. * Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed as she resides with other dogs at our center. * Potty Training: May use potty pads but goes potty outside at our center. Training may be necessary in a new environment. * Hygiene: Accepts baths and nail trimming very well. Dislikes dry blowing but tolerates it when she is cuddled. * Walks: Is undergoing training to get accustomed to walks. No pulling on the leash. * Car Sickness: Rides in the car very well without motion sickness. ❗Health Status❗ * Spayed. * Microchipped. * She is diagnosed with parasitic skin disease and is receiving treatment. It's not contagious! * Her fur is growing back after losing it due to her skin disease.

Story
Bailey (born 6/20/2015) is a 14 pound, housebroken, Rat Terrier mix. Because Bailey came from an abuse situation, he has trust issues. If you want to adopt him, you would need to visit with Bailey a few times to become friends and gain his trust. The deal here is that Bailey needs to know you before he can trust you. Once Bailey knows you, he is a very affectionate and loyal friend, but he will also be protective – so he needs to know that you will be the one to protect him. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us.
