MEET REX-POODLE/RAT TERRIER MIX – SENIOR IN URGENT NEED OF A NEW HOME ** He was heading to ACC Shelter December 4th but we were able to take him into foster** Rex has known nothing but a loving home since he was a puppy. He has been a family member since they brought him home as a puppy. Rex’s Mom can no longer care for him, as she is transitioning to a new living situation. Rex is a social, affectionate and loving boy, still active and playful even in his golden years. Rex is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. Rex is approximately 10 years old, a Poodle/Rat Terrier Mix, and weighs 25 pounds. He is a good boy, house broken and happy walking on a leash. He loves peanutbutter, gravy bones and bacon strips, in other words, he loves all treats. Rex can be shy at first, until he gets to know his new surroundings and friends. He has no experience living with children or cats but doing well with his foster families dog. As always, an introduction would be needed. Please consider opening your heart and home to this sweet, social, playful young at heart boy. Story
Scottie is a 2.5 year old rat terrier (Embark -100% Jack Russel breed) that I got from a FB post on a group I follow when his original family needed him rehomed asap. Scottie was my 4th dog and now I have 5 but he is my smallest. I'm a big dog person and I now understand small dog personalities and how different they can be. Scottie gets along with other dogs and does well in a pack but he has a very high prey drive that has led to some close calls with my cats and now that my cat is expecting kittens I don't want to take the chance. If you're used to small dogs or are familiar with their personality traits then Scottie is perfect. He loves walks and being outside.

Jack was born in rescue after his mother was surrendered when owner passed away. He and his sister were the only surviving pups. The mother rejected them at 2 weeks, and they were bottle fed until able to eat puppy food. Jack is a good and smart little boy. He has mastered pee pad training and will start learning house training very soon. We do not allow puppies to touch ground until they have received multiple distemper parvo vaccinations. His siter is with a foster to adopt and now it's Jack's turn to find his family. Look into those eyes and tell me he isn't the most handsome little guy. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Story
Lucy was surrendered from her family because hospice came and the family could no longer care for her. Lucy is a very affectionate little girl that loves to snuggle under the covers with you at night. She loves to walk on a leash and go for car rides. During her vetting, she was found to be heartworm positive. She has completed all vetting and had her heartworm treatment. She is looking for a family to call her own. She does have an underbite, but otherwise very healthy now. Will you be that family to give her a new life in the new year? She is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Andi is with our partner rescue in Louisiana and will be arriving in NJ on 1/24. Andi’s story started a little rough. She was found abandoned in a ditch, but she hasn’t let that dim her loving spirit one bit. This sweet, petite girl is all heart and charm. Andi adores attention and wants nothing more than to be close to her people. She’s affectionate, a bit goofy, and happily climbs into your lap whenever she gets the chance. She loves her toys, enjoys playtime, and does great riding in the car. She’s currently thriving in a foster home with children, cats, and other dogs, and is doing wonderfully with everyone. Andi is crate trained and continuing to work on her manners, picking things up more and more each day. If you’re looking for a loving little shadow who will make you smile and snuggle right up beside you, Andi may be your perfect match. Andi is up to date on vaccines and has been treated for puppy/kitten parasites. Wag On Inn will arrange for spay/neuter and microchip at 5-6 months of age at The Spay and Neuter Center of New Jersey in Holmdel. Adopters must live within driving distance of Holmdel, NJ. Her adoption fee is $550.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training  prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
