Story
Bailey (born 6/20/2015) is an 8-year-old, 14 pound, housebroken, Rat Terrier mix. Because Bailey came from an abuse situation, he has trust issues. If you want to adopt him, you would need to visit with Bailey a few times to become friends and gain his trust. The deal here is that Bailey needs to know you before he can trust you. Once Bailey knows you, he is a very affectionate and loyal friend, but he will also be protective – so he needs to know that you will be the one to protect him. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us. FOR AN APPLICATION, please visit http://humanesocietyny.org/adoptions/ and download then email your application to hsny.adopt@gmail.com. Our one and only location is: 306 East 59th Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenue) in Manhattan. If you'd like to sponsor Bailey, please email amk.hsny@verizon.net. You can give as much or as little as you like. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you! For additional information on the Humane Society of New York, please visit: humanesocietyny.org. Thank you!

Story
Meet Imp! He is lovely girl rescued by our team from High-kill shelter in Korea. She gave birth to his babies in the shelter. Behaviours from the previous foster: She is so gentle that she doesn’t bark at all and doensn’t have any aggressive behaviours. She loves walking and meeting her friends and She loves her hooman so much. She likes to be pat - especially on her butt – and always sleeps besides her hooman. She is doing her job out doors- moving her bowels. She is not a big fan of showering but she seems to bear it- She is so patient. We haven’t found any separation anxieties so far, She seems to be beyond happy when the owners come back home though. She is a little bit timid that she is afraid of some scary noise like vacuum cleaner, plastic bottle and so on. She has so much love in her. Be her loving family and she will be with you and adores you forever. Allergy/health issues: She has motion sickness. So It will help her if you let her doing her job_moving her bowels_ and keep her stomach empty before gettinng a car. *Please send all inquiries to @everlove8282. *Please submit your applications through the application form on our Instagram profile! Our team will carefully consider each of your applications to find the perfect forever homes for our dogs. *As all of our dogs are currently in South Korea, there will be an adoption fee of 700USD + customs fee (if applicable) for each dog. —> all details are on the poster! Please check it carefully.

Story
Meet Luigi! Luigi is approximately 7 years young, terrier mix who loves to nuzzle into you and be pet. Luigi is fully house-trained and walks really well on the leash during walks. He's a little nervous when it comes to elevators, trains, and cars, but we're working on this daily. He loves squeaky plush toys and keeps himself entertained for hours. Luigi is also a couch potato, he loves to lounge and be close to his human. If you're looking for a sweet boy who will be your shadow, Luigi is your guy. Luigi is being fostered in Woodside, Queens. His adoption fee is $425. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Meet Georgie, as you can see in the video, he adores children. Georgie was dumped off in a quiet neighborhood not too far from the rescue. The people who found him brought him to us and he fit right in with all the gang here. He just gets along with everyone so well, dogs, cats, kids, strangers. He's just the perfect little boy. He's a big Ratty (23 lbs) so is probably mixed with something else. Our vet aged him at about 12 months so he's still a pup. he is neutered, microchipped, trained to a doggie door and fully vaccinated. Ready for immediate transport. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $650

Story
Meet Brody, a.k.a. the beetle, He answers to both! He is a whopping 23 pounds and he is packed with all the love and affection you could ever want from a dog, Brody was found walking down a street in the middle of the country no houses in sight, When he came to us, he was so dehydrated And Emaciated His urine was dark brown. He weighed only 17 pounds. Brody loves To play ball more than any dog I have ever seen, He is kid, friendly, dog, friendly, cat, friendly, and once even got in the chicken coop and did not chase the chickens. He does very much so detest, frogs and snakes and if he sees them, he will alarm you that they are there. This can be very helpful if you live in the country. Some basic commands But they do need a little work. After we were sure he did not have a microchip. He was neutered given his shots and tested for Heartworms. Unfortunately, he was positive for heartworm. He has been Undergoing treatment and is coming to the end of this journey. Brody would love nothing more than to have a home with other dogs to play with or children to throw a ball. If you are interested in adopting Brody, please submit an application. Although he resides in Georgia, he would be happy to make his trip up north to find his forever home!
