Story
Imagine driving down a rural country road on the way to pickup groceries, when out of the brush comes 2 walking Halloween skeletons.  That is what  Benjamin and his partner Olive looked like when we took them home.  Benjamin is a sweet JRT mix that is about 2 years old and weighs 27 lbs. He loves to play and destuff all of his stuffed animals. When his energy runs out, he will snuggle next to you on the couch. He is a smart boy and will keep you on your toes. Benjamin is learning house manners and will stay in a crate. Benjamin walks well on a harness but beware of squirrels. Because of his high prey drive, absolutely no cats!!! A fenced yard is highly desirable but not a necessity. he can always go out on a leash but never off leash when not in  fenced yard .      If you love the energy and personality of a jack russell, then benjamin, we'll check all the boxes that you are looking for.  Please email critter cavalry rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.    please inform us where you live, city and state since we R based in Tennessee. But we do transport out of state to the northeastern corridor.      PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJune 20, 2026, 3:36 pm

Story
Best friend Buddy is the total package. He loves people and greets everyone, always eager for attention.   At 12, Buddy ended up in a rural Tennessee shelter. We do not know his backstory or why such a sweet boy would land in a shelter. We may never know.     At Critter Cavalry, we adore seniors and believe they deserve every chance to find a loving home. You won’t regret considering Buddy—he loves everyone, whether human or animal. Buddy is everyone’s best friend.     Buddy is healthy for a senior. He has limited sight and hearing, but is otherwise in good shape. He navigates his foster home easily and enjoys exploring the fenced yard. He comes when called—just use a louder voice.   Buddy is ready to retire with a couple eager to add him to their family. He’d love a fenced yard to explore—size isn’t important—and an active retirement with short walks and car rides. He will be a wonderful addition to a family that matches his lifestyle.   If you want a new best friend, Buddy is perfect for you. To learn more about adopting him, contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com or 615-943-7311. Approved application and adoption fee required.    June 20, 2026, 3:36 pm

Story
Meet Morsel, a gentle young adult whose world hasn’t always been predictable—but who is steadily learning that love, safety, and comfort are real. Rescued from a hoarding situation, Morsel came into foster care unsure and overwhelmed. Today, she is making beautiful progress. While she still needs an understanding adopter, she’s gaining confidence more each day and showing just how capable she is of trust (and how much she wants to). She thrives on routine, has started to truly enjoy affection (often returning it with soft little kisses), and is beginning to settle into the rhythm of home life. Morsel is fully pee pad trained and totally potty trained once she is comfortable in her home. She is making steady progress with her leash skills, especially in quieter environments where she feels safe. She is crate trained but doesn’t need to be crated. She does well on car rides and is becoming more comfortable being picked up when needed. She’s not quite ready for a bustling, unpredictable world—but with patience and consistency, she continues to blossom. Other dogs are truly her safe place. Morsel is wonderful with dogs of all sizes, naturally submissive, and must have a confident canine companion in her adoptive home to help guide and reassure her. She looks to other dogs for cues and comfort—it’s essential for her continued growth. Because of her sensitive nature, Morsel would do best in a quieter household. Older, respectful children who understand the importance of giving her space would be most appropriate. Morsel also has an impressive (and important to note!) skill—she can climb chain link fencing like a little spider woman in the making. Because of this, she needs an adopter to keep her safe while she settles into her new home. Her leash skills are still developing, so safe outdoor space is key right now. Morsel won’t be an instant, outgoing companion—but for the right person, she will be something even more meaningful. She is the kind of dog whose love is earned slowly, quietly, and deeply. And that kind of bond? It’s truly something special. If you believe in patience, in progress, and in the beauty of watching a dog come into her own, Morsel may be the one you’ve been waiting for.  Morsel is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and is ready to head home. www.mostlymuttz.org Link to Morsel’s bio: https://www.wagtopia.com/search/pet?id=2641184&name=Morsel Morsel is in our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with the dog, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending. To get started, email meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information, and the dog’s foster or volunteer will be in touch. https://facebook.com/mostlymuttz PA Kennel License: 10872 PO Box 406 Gilbertsville, PA 19525 #mostlymuttzrescue #adoptabledogs #jrtlove ##2641184##

Story
Maya is a very cuddly easy going dog. She is generally very quiet and is not needy at all. She enjoys lounging around her people and is very food motivated. She also loves going on walks. She will bark at new people who enter the home but usually relaxes after a bit and enjoys pets/cuddles.Unfortunately she is not good with other dogs and can get very aggressive when she comes across one. This makes it very difficult to walk her and give her adequate exercise. Randomly she can be okay with other dogs and generally cohabitates okay with our older dog (with some bullying). We have a one year old child. Maya was uninterested during infant stage and is tolerant with pets/pokes now. We do not allow them to be close together without arms length supervision. We love this dog very much but we are going to have another baby and our older dog has more needs. We believe for everyone’s quality of life it is better to rehome Maya if we can find a good fit.
