Story
Hi, I'm Ms. Maezie! I am the sweetest, most loving 11 year old, 11 pound rat terrier mix you'll ever meet!💜 I'm on the search for a loving forever home because my one and only owner recently passed away. I am currently being fostered by a family friend, but would love to find a more permanent lap to lay upon. I am house trained, kennel trained, dog, cat, & kid friendly, and enjoy car rides. I'm excited to meet just about everyone. I like to play, but enjoy lounging on the couch as well. I'll do nearly anything as long as I'm near you. My shots are all up to date and am current on all my preventatives. My foster is willing to drive long distance to meet, and adoption fee for senior adopters is negotiable if it sounds like a good family match. Senior adopters are preferred, as retired, constant companion life is what I most enjoy.

Story
Meet Taz! Don’t let his size fool you—Taz has enough personality packed into his little body for a dog twice his size! This handsome terrier mix was pulled from Harris County alongside his kennel buddy, Mac, during our recent shelter rescue mission, and we’re so glad he’s finally getting his chance to shine. At around 2 years old, Taz is the perfect mix of fun and laid-back. He’s a sweet little guy who carries himself like a big dog, but deep down he just wants to be loved and included in all of life’s adventures. Whether it’s hanging out on the couch, going for a walk, or simply being your sidekick, Taz is happy just being part of the family. So far, Taz has shown us that he’s a pretty chill dude with a heart of gold. He’s the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart and become your best friend before you even realize it. Now all this little guy needs is a foster or forever home where he can be spoiled the way he deserves. Could Taz be your new best friend? Fill out an application to foster or adopt and give this sweet boy the happy ending he’s been waiting for! August 30, 2026, 9:28 pm

Story
Breed:   Rat Terrier/Chihuahua Mix?Gender:  MaleAge:  2 yearsSize: 8.2 lbsGood with:  Dogs and taking long naps in your lap Meet Walnut , a beautiful brindle Rat Terrier mix with a sweet soul and a very important mission in life: to be a lap dog at all times. Walnut may put on a little shy act when he first meets someone new, but don’t let him fool you—this handsome boy warms up quickly! Before long, he’s ready to show you his affectionate side and claim his favorite spot: right in your lap. Once he’s comfortable, Walnut’s curious nature really starts to shine. He enjoys exploring his surroundings, checking things out, and discovering what the world has to offer. But after all that important investigating, he’s more than happy to return to his favorite human for some quality cuddle time. He’s the perfect combination of sweet, curious, affectionate, and just a little bit shy—at least until he decides you’re his person. Then, prepare yourself for a permanent lap companion! Walnut is looking for someone who will appreciate his gentle nature, give him a little time to settle in, and happily accept his offer to become their personal lap dog. Beautiful brindle coat? Curious explorer? Sweet personality? Professional lap dog? Absolutely! Walnut is ready to warm his way into your heart—and probably right onto your lap. Story
Breed: Rat TerrierGender:  FemaleAge:  8 monthsSize: 6.1 lbsGood with:  Dogs but shy around meeting new people Meet Hazelnut , the smallest member of the Nut Pack—and this sleek little black Rat Terrier mix has a heart just waiting to blossom. Hazelnut is sweet, timid, and sensitive, and she needs a little time to take in her surroundings before she feels comfortable. She isn’t the type to jump right into a new situation. Instead, she likes to quietly observe, figure things out, and decide when she’s ready to come out of her shell. But there’s something pretty special about this little girl… Hazelnut seems clearly destined to be a Daddy’s Girl! She naturally gravitates toward men and appears to find comfort and confidence in their presence. Once she feels safe, you can begin to see the sweet personality hiding behind that initial shyness. She just needs someone who understands that trust isn’t built in a day. Give Hazelnut patience, a calm environment, and the freedom to warm up at her own pace, and she’ll show you just how precious she is. She may be the smallest of the Nut Pack, but she has a sweetness all her own. Hazelnut is looking for a patient forever family—and perhaps the Daddy she was destined to adore.
