PLAYFUL AND FEISTY  DOB 5/6/26, weight up to 15 lb. at maturity Hey there, everyone! I’m Lola, a very sweet, feisty, and very playful wire-coated Russell Terrier mix gal who looks like a plush toy come to life! I may have some Chihuahua mixed in because I’m mostly black with white paws and vest, and Russell Terriers are always mostly white with black markings. My dark, almond-shaped eyes and mobile V-shaped ears exhibit the Russell’s hallmark intelligent expression. I have an adorable personality – although I rarely like to be held -- and I love to run and have fun. Although I’d probably be good around kids, Foster Meowmy prefers my forever family to be toddler-free. I’d probably be good around cats, but I can’t promise that I wouldn’t chase them! I get startled by large dogs, so Foster Mom is insisting that I be adopted into a home with no large dogs. Actually, I'd shine the most if there's only a small, male dog to be my buddy or if I'm an only dog-child. Foster Mommy noticed that my sisters, Lili and Luna, and I were kept outside by my owners. After expressing her concern to them that we weren’t meant to be strictly outdoor dogs, she was able to persuade them to surrender us to her. They admitted that they couldn’t financially afford to keep us anyway. I weighed 8 pounds at 3 months old and should weigh up to 15 pounds at maturity. Now I’m ready to become the jaunty, lively new addition to my forever family. I weighed 12 pounds when I was 5 months old and shouldn’t weigh more than 20-25 pounds at maturity. I am devoted to all ages of hoomans in my foster home but am particularly partial to the grandkids. I adore playing with the small dogs, and I get along great with the resident cats. I’m already crate-trained and almost house-trained, which is another bonus. A HOPE volunteer found me wandering in the parking lot of her apartment complex when I was just 7 weeks old with no momma or siblings in sight. I’ll never tell how I ended up alone or if my owners abandoned me when they moved out, but thank heavens, my new foster mom offered me a safe haven until I can find my forever home. I was happily situated in my adoptive home until my owners encountered financial difficulties. Unfortunately they had to downsize to a smaller home and couldn’t take me with them. Thank heavens my new foster mom welcomed me with open arms until I can find a new home. I get along great with the visiting grandkids, other small dogs, and even the cats in my foster home, although I’m nervous around large dogs that I meet on walks. Because my previous household was quiet, when I first arrived in my foster home, I was very fearful and shy because of the robust dog and cat activity. Fortunately, Foster Mom knew that it would take time and patience for me to adjust into my new “digs,” and with her gentle voice and affectionate touch, she has been showing me that I am securely loved, and --voilà! – watching me blossom has been something truly special for her. My prior owners had not trained me well, but Foster Mom is helping me work on my housetraining and crate-training – let’s just say that I’m a work-in-progress.
