Story
Penny is a gorgeous Rhodesian ridgeback mix that weighs approximately 50 lbs and is the sweetest girl! She is approximately 1 year and 3 months old and was found in January of 2026 in a cemetery with about 12+ other dogs. She was fending for herself, finding food, water and shelter where and when she could. This awesome girl absolutely loves other dogs; big and small. She is currently being fostered in a sanctuary in south Texas, along the Texas/Mexico border. This amazing sanctuary is only a short term stop for this baby until their forever home is found. They are the ones who originally found her and got her to safety, before reaching out to us to help in placing their animals in the homes they deserve. She can be a little shy right at first, but it doesn’t take her long to warm up and become your loyal, best friend. Penny is very active and loves to romp around the yard and play with the other doggies. The happiest she is, is when she is with other dogs and they have toys to play tug-o-war with. We strongly recommend another dog or dogs in the home, or consistent doggy friends/doggy parks/doggy day-care that she can go to. Where Penny currently is, has pigs and she enjoys playing with them too! While she does love to play, she is very gentle when she does. She is not overly rough. She is a bit of an escape artist as she just enjoys being out and about. Penny is MOSTLY house trained, just needs consistency to master is 100% Penny loves car rides and walks okay on a leash, will need a bit more work on the leash to become perfect. She has great recall once she is familiar with the area. We learned she is an escape artist as she climbed a 4-foot fence and got out. But all she did was explore a little bit and then go to the front door of the home and wait to be let in. She is such a good girl! An ideal home for Penny would be one that is: Active, wants a dog that loves to go on adventures Wants a best friend, a dog that will be your shadow Has another active dog to play with and tire each other out The fosters favourite thing about Penny: That even after she was dumped and left to starve to death in the middle of nowhere, she still trusts people and is the sweetest, most loving baby. This animal is fixed (spayed/neutered), heart worm positive (they have received the 30-day course of antibiotics and need to stay on heart worm prevention for 12-16 months and be retested then), current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. PLEASE READ BELOW: To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We ONLY do adopt in Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee listed ($495) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the Northeast. Transport goes to the following locations every 2-3 weeks: Albany, NY – Only one transport company goes here, once a month Wells, VT and Brattleboro, VT Nashua, NH – Only one transport company goes here, times vary Willington, CT - Stamford, CT - Dayville, CT Steubenville, OH – Cincinnati, OH – Grove City, OH Grove City, PA and Washington, PA – THESE STOPS ARE ON HOLD AS OF 7/1 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE Ridgefield, NJ and Mt Laurel, NJ Emmitsburg, MD and Elkton, MD Falls Church, VA and Glenn Allen, VA We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home. Story
Meet Jack, a 7-8 month old, very good boy. His days are filled with playful antics and goofy moments that bring laughter to everyone around him. Adopting Jack means embracing endless fun and Jack is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Story
URGENT ‼️ Lids needs a new home immediately. URGENT ‼️ We have an urgent request to find a new home for Lids.  This boy was adopted from us two and a half years ago but his adopter can't keep him due to recent health issues. Lids is a three-year-old, 75 pound boy who is full of energy, and love.  He's a cuddler and an  affectionate boy!   He is looking for a family who can show him love and patience, and work with him if needed. He is good with humans of all ages, including kids.  But we recommend older kids because of his energy. He is good with dogs, but like most dogs, he will need a proper introduction. No cats for him. He is housebroken and knows commands for 'sit', 'down', 'off', 'high five' and 'come'. He does need some work with his leash walking skills. The best home for Lids will be: With an active owner who can take him hiking, running, or do agility with him. A friendly and playful resident dog (if there already is a dog in household). Patient owner who will give him time to decompress and work with him and shower him with love. Lids is currently located in the NY area.  Courtesy Post. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Courtesy Listing: Steve and Robin are a bonded pair of Great Pyrenees who appear to be mixed with Black Mouth Cur. They have long, soft double coats and hearts full of love just waiting to be unlocked. Found near-feral in the woods of Tennessee, these two have come an incredibly long way — and the journey to earning their trust is one of the most rewarding things you'll ever experience. Both dogs are house-trained and crate trained, and they have great house manners. They've settled beautifully into home life and adore having a cozy den space to call their own — a covered crate loaded up with soft bedding and favorite chew toys, big enough for the two of them to snuggle up together. Their activity level is moderate: they love a good case of the zoomies in a big yard, but they're equally happy to spend the rest of the day curled up together in a warm corner. Steve and Robin are fantastic with cats and tend to lose interest once a new scent becomes familiar. They do great with small puppies, though they prefer very calm dogs overall and can be selective with new canine friends. They've handled calm vet visits like champs and are generally well-behaved in new situations, though they appreciate a gentle, unhurried approach. They're not big barkers — you'll mostly hear from them when they need outside time or want to let you know something's up at the boundary. Steve is a total attention hog who has perfected the Pyr Paw and will absolutely try to elbow Robin out of the spotlight the moment belly rubs are on the table. Robin is gentler and more reserved, but once you've earned her trust, she is pure magic. Both dogs have moved from near-feral to actively seeking out love and affection, and that transformation says everything about who they are. Steve loves to dig, so your yard may acquire some character. Leash work is still in progress — both dogs are a little nervous about it — but with patience and a slow, positive approach, they're making strides. A four-foot fence is all that's needed to keep them happily contained, as neither has any interest in escape artistry. Steve and Robin are looking for a calm, experienced home, possibly with older kids who have a naturally quiet and gentle energy. They need a family who understands that trust takes time, who will give them space when they need it and hugs when they ask for them, and who has a yard big enough for the occasional wild sprint. They can thrive as a duo-only household or alongside other very chill canine companions. In return, you'll get two absolutely gorgeous, deeply sweet dogs who will love you with everything they've got — once they know it's safe to do so. And it will be so worth the wait. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We have many Pyrs and Pyr mixes who need homes.
