Story
🐾 Meet Canela! 🐾 Name: Canela Age: 1 year old Gender: Female Weight: 64 lbs Size: Big girl, big heart! ❤️ Canela’s story is one of survival. We rescued her just minutes before she was scheduled to be euthanized at a high-kill shelter in South Texas, near the Texas–Mexico border. She was given a second chance, and now she’s ready to find the family she was always meant to have. Canela is a big, beautiful ball of energy with an even bigger personality! She is incredibly sweet, loving, smart, curious, playful, and adventurous. She loves being involved in everything her people are doing and is definitely a Velcro dog — if you’re there, she wants to be right there with you. ❤️ She LOVES to play, and water is one of her favorite things! Whether she’s running around, exploring, playing with her ball, or finding something fun to get into, Canela is always ready for her next adventure. She is leash trained, crate trained, and house trained, and she does well with kids. She also enjoys other dogs who can match her energetic and playful temperament. Now, let’s talk about her personality! 😂 Canela is not shy about asking for attention. She has a demanding little personality when it comes to getting love and attention, and she will absolutely let you know when she thinks it’s time to focus on her. She’s affectionate, people-oriented, and wants to be part of the action. And one very important Canela fact: She can jump ANY fence. And I mean ANY fence. 😂 Height does not seem to matter to this girl. Her future family will need to be extremely careful with fencing and have a secure plan to keep this adventurous escape artist safely contained. 🏡 Canela’s ideal home Canela needs an active home with people who understand and appreciate an energetic young dog. She would thrive with a family that enjoys outdoor adventures, playtime, exercise, and keeping their dog mentally and physically engaged. Her energy can be a lot if you’re expecting a calm couch potato — but if you’re looking for a fun-loving adventure buddy who will shower you with affection, Canela may be your girl. Once you get past her “I HAVE ENERGY AND I NEED YOU TO KNOW ABOUT IT!” personality, you’ll discover the most loving, loyal, affectionate girl. Canela has already fought hard for her second chance. Now she just needs someone who will give her the active, loving forever home she deserves. 🐾❤️ Could Canela be your next adventure buddy? Canela is spayed, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. PLEASE READ BELOW: To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We ONLY do adopt in Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee listed ($495) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the Northeast. Transport goes to the following locations every 2-3 weeks: Albany, NY Port Chester, NY area Amenia, NY area Wells, VT and Brattleboro, VT Nashua, NH Willington, CT - Stamford, CT - Dayville, CT Steubenville, OH – Cincinnati, OH – Grove City, OH Grove City, PA and Washington, PA Ridgefield, NJ and Mt Laurel, NJ Emmitsburg, MD and Elkton, MD Falls Church, VA and Glenn Allen, VA We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home. Story
URGENT ‼️ Lids needs a new home immediately. URGENT ‼️ We have an urgent request to find a new home for Lids.  This boy was adopted from us two and a half years ago but his adopter can't keep him due to recent health issues. Lids is a three-year-old, 75 pound boy who is full of energy, and love.  He's a cuddler and an  affectionate boy!   He is looking for a family who can show him love and patience, and work with him if needed. He is good with humans of all ages, including kids.  But we recommend older kids because of his energy. He is good with dogs, but like most dogs, he will need a proper introduction. No cats for him. He is housebroken and knows commands for 'sit', 'down', 'off', 'high five' and 'come'. He does need some work with his leash walking skills. The best home for Lids will be: With an active owner who can take him hiking, running, or do agility with him. A friendly and playful resident dog (if there already is a dog in household). Patient owner who will give him time to decompress and work with him and shower him with love. Lids is currently located in the NY area.  Courtesy Post. She loves affection, enjoys exploring the world around her, and is always ready to cuddle up after a day of adventures. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Courtesy Listing: Steve and Robin are a bonded pair of Great Pyrenees who appear to be mixed with Black Mouth Cur. They have long, soft double coats and hearts full of love just waiting to be unlocked. Found near-feral in the woods of Tennessee, these two have come an incredibly long way — and the journey to earning their trust is one of the most rewarding things you'll ever experience. Both dogs are house-trained and crate trained, and they have great house manners. They've settled beautifully into home life and adore having a cozy den space to call their own — a covered crate loaded up with soft bedding and favorite chew toys, big enough for the two of them to snuggle up together. Their activity level is moderate: they love a good case of the zoomies in a big yard, but they're equally happy to spend the rest of the day curled up together in a warm corner. Steve and Robin are fantastic with cats and tend to lose interest once a new scent becomes familiar. They do great with small puppies, though they prefer very calm dogs overall and can be selective with new canine friends. They've handled calm vet visits like champs and are generally well-behaved in new situations, though they appreciate a gentle, unhurried approach. They're not big barkers — you'll mostly hear from them when they need outside time or want to let you know something's up at the boundary. Steve is a total attention hog who has perfected the Pyr Paw and will absolutely try to elbow Robin out of the spotlight the moment belly rubs are on the table. Robin is gentler and more reserved, but once you've earned her trust, she is pure magic. Both dogs have moved from near-feral to actively seeking out love and affection, and that transformation says everything about who they are. Steve loves to dig, so your yard may acquire some character. Leash work is still in progress — both dogs are a little nervous about it — but with patience and a slow, positive approach, they're making strides. A four-foot fence is all that's needed to keep them happily contained, as neither has any interest in escape artistry. Steve and Robin are looking for a calm, experienced home, possibly with older kids who have a naturally quiet and gentle energy. They need a family who understands that trust takes time, who will give them space when they need it and hugs when they ask for them, and who has a yard big enough for the occasional wild sprint. They can thrive as a duo-only household or alongside other very chill canine companions. In return, you'll get two absolutely gorgeous, deeply sweet dogs who will love you with everything they've got — once they know it's safe to do so. And it will be so worth the wait. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We have many Pyrs and Pyr mixes who need homes.
