Story
Meet Buddy – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Perfect Match! Buddy is a senior Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. With patience and understanding, Buddy has so much love and potential to share. Are you the kind soul ready to give Buddy the forever home he deserves? What’s your favorite flower? Well, we’ve got a whole arrangement for you to choose from! Found in San Marcos, Texas, these little buds came to SNIPSA as bottle babies. Now, after a few weeks in foster care, they are ready to open up and soak in the spring sunshine with YOU! A mixed bunch, we see traits of both the Catahoula Leopard Dog breed and the Shepherd breed in this group of nine. They will be medium or large-sized dogs that will retain a playful and loyal temperament as they grow. Catahoulas, originally bred to hunt hogs, are naturally energetic and intelligent. So, in addition to their pretty petals, you can expect your new companion to flourish in their new home, given adequate training and exercise! Spring brings new beginnings, and in this case, a new bestie. Just pick one and apply today!

Story
How do these pups rank? We have a feeling they will exceed all expectations! Captain and Major are two playful Black Mouth Cur mixes ready to march their way into your heart. The Black Mouth Cur is a medium to large-sized working breed that was first bred to help farmers and hunters. They are active, loving, and intelligent, so you’ll have loads of fun teaching your new best friend new tricks. Already, these two are potty trained and crate trained, and they know basic commands such as “sit” and “no.” It seems that they are off to a great start at just six months old! It’s important to know that these young dogs also have a sensitive side and respond best to positive reinforcement. They are big cuddlers and bond quickly, despite a little initial shyness. Once they are in a family environment, we do not doubt that either one will be a loyal guardian to you, your other pets and/or your children. Captain and Major also enjoy their daily walks, so you’ll want to provide adequate time for exercise in their new homes! We know that one (or both) of these soldiers will stand by your side through thick and thin! So, are you ready to enlist a new buddy into your family unit? Apply today!
