He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. Dixie is a 10 year old female Rhodesian ridgeback/shepherd mix that loves people of all ages! We rescued her as an abandoned puppy and have enjoyed her in our home the last 10 years. Dixie does have some anxiety that is triggered by loud noises (people mowing their lawn or any kind of machinery running). She is generally ok outside unless there’s a triggering noise in which case she would rather be inside. Unfortunately our life continues to be busier and busier and we aren’t able to provide the environment Dixie needs to live a happy and stress free life anymore. We would love to see Dixie rehomed to a great home! The ideal person would be retired, work from home, or full time stay at home. Dixie is a very sweet and loving dog that would enjoy nothing more than to be by someone’s side all day long, preferable in doors where it’s quiet haha.
