Welcome Skipper to CCPAL Rescue. Skipper is a 90-pound Ridgeback/Dane mix is our best guess. He is a mush to the people he knows and his breed is very loyal. He was adopted out as a tiny puppy and a year and a half later he was found on the streets skinny and with hair loss. He is now back at the rescue and he is doing great. He is friendly to all of us and very happy to see his friends. He didn’t jump up but he does pull on leash. I don’t think he got to do much leash work. He has an adorable widow’s peak. He would be great for a family who has a traveling father or someone not home. You could feel safe that Skipper would keep the family safe. He looks intimidating and has a big bark but very very gentle and goofy to those he loves. He has a low coat and not a big shedding dog. We would like someone who has worked with an extra-large breed or a Ridgeback. He will do good with a strong owner that is willing to work with him to give him direction and training. He is one of our favorites and we think he may be related to JJ who is also available at CCPAL. Skipper has been checked over by the vet and is in good health. He has been given a Bravecto and is growing hair and putting on weight here at the rescue. He would be a great partner for a jogger and due to his large size could definitely keep up with even a faster stride. He can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. I have excellent manners, I’m house broken, I keep my kennel tidy, I know how to sit and lay down, I’m great on a leash too! I can be mellow and I can be very playful. I’d do good with dogs of that temperament! I'm a little intimidated by little dogs, so maybe none of those... I absolutely love people, I get excitable when I first see you but then I settle down quite nicely. I’m so eager to learn and understand whatever it is my human needs me to do! Jaxon was found in the streets as a baby. we are all he knows i love him so much it breaks my heart but I know he deserves better. I have an older female dog and another small one. it's just a lot because I don't have time and live in an apartment he needs space to run around I am too tired after work to do anything with him. Jaxon is a good boy and a very good home protector yet he is very gentle with us. Struggling with potty training is all my fault because I have not kept consistency with the potty training. I wish for him to go to a home with a big yard he is a big boy, he is 1 yrs old. I also have a cat i just have to redirect him when he tries to chase her but they get along I have found them all sleeping together. I wish I could keep him but I want what's best for him.

Meet Olivia: She and her 2 puppies were living in a neighborhood utility easement surviving off of the streets. Olivia is VERY sweet, well behaved, knows commands and is gentle. She loves people, getting her belly rubbed, giving kisses and playing with toys but does prefer to be the only dog in your life. We are not sure how such a sweet girl could end up on the streets, with babies, and even more so- why she is still at our shelter. Meet May! She's mastered all basic obedience training thanks to classes with Swift K9 Training. She LOVES people and kids, but would do best in a home with children over 8. She does not mind cats at all and completely ignores them. She loves her crate--it's her safe space. She is great on leash and loves walks. May is about 4.5 years old and weighs 55 pounds. She would do best in a home as an only dog, and needs a quiet, calm environment willing to take things slow to help her adjust to home life. My name is Skipper and I seem to have lost my SS Minnow. So it appears that I'm now indeed searching for a new fur-ever crew where we could take that '3 hour' tour...err, maybe we should make that tour on land. I'm hoping to enjoy many many tours with my new crew!! I'm around 11 months old, so still just a youngster. Much too young to be a captain. I'm more than ready to leave the captain-ing to you. I'm very friendly and outgoing, always ready to play ball and I do great with...everyone! Kiddos, puppers and even cats! I really love my people and there isn't anything better than being with them. I'm around the 40ish lb range and shouldn't get much bigger at my adult weight. And let me tell you that's a perfect size. I'm big enough to go on all our '3 hour' tours but still have plenty of space for the both of us on the couch for our beloved cuddle time. Now that does sound about perfect!
