Story
Meet Buddy – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Perfect Match! Buddy is a senior Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. With patience and understanding, Buddy has so much love and potential to share. Are you the kind soul ready to give Buddy the forever home he deserves? Story
Gypsy has been the best dog i could have asked for being a single mom. She is patient, loving, funny, and sweet. My son was raised around her for the past five years, and she has been so patient with him learning boundaries, as well as acting as a mother to my cat I took in after the mother abandoned her litter. I love her to pieces but unfortunately I can no longer afford to keep her healthy as she now requires a prescription food for a reaccuring uti issues. I also have had to start working more often with the cost of living and I am just not home enough for her and she deserves so much more. I really just want her to find a home with people who will love her and have time for her where I cant, and who can spoil her like she deserves.

Story
Lola was rescued from the streets of San Antonio. She is the sweetest girl to all humans, kids included. She loves to lick! She is not a fan of other dogs/cats! She’s 7 years old, and turns 8 in November. We recently had our first kid, and with me being a teacher, we’ve not given her the time and love she deserves. She has a small ligament injury on her back leg. Last time she got her vaccines was 11 months ago. She deserves love and care, and without paying attention, we had been neglecting her because of our busy lives and schedules.

Story
Who doesn’t love Cookies & Cream? Especially THIS Cookies n Cream! 🍪😋 MGC Contractors certainly does and have graciously decided to sponsor my adoption fee!Just like his name, this sweet boy is truly a treat! He’s gentle, well-mannered, and has an overall medium energy personality, making him a wonderful companion for most households! Cookies n Cream has a playful side and loves interactive playtime! 🎾 He’s happy to entertain himself with his toys, but he especially enjoys any chance to toss a ball around with you, play a gentle game of tug-of-war, or follow you around the yard in search of hopping insects. While he’s not exactly pest control, he certainly loves to chase grasshoppers! Cookies n Cream knows a few basic commands like sit, paw, and sometimes even lay down on cue… although he did ask me to emphasize that treats should be involved whenever these tricks are expected! Cookies n Cream has an easygoing personality that makes him a joy to be around. He’s the kind of dog who’s happy to join you on an adventure but is just as content relaxing by your side afterward. More than anything, he loves people and thrives on human companionship. If you’re nearby, chances are Cookies n Cream wants to be nearby too!If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will reward you with endless affection, laughter, and friendship, Cookies n Cream may just be the sweetest treat you’ll ever bring home! ❤️- Katy, HSNBA volunteerHSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Story
Meet Margo, the mascot of our unofficial welcoming committee in the adoption area! 💛The moment you approach Margo’s kennel, you’ll be greeted with full-body wags, playful bows, and endless puppy kisses! She’s never met a stranger and firmly believes everyone is just a best friend she hasn’t met yet. This confident, happy-go-lucky pup loves spending time with other dogs and does wonderfully in playgroups. She’s always ready for her next wrestling match, game of chase, or adventure with a canine buddy. We think she’d thrive with a canine sibling, but she’d be just as happy soaking up all of your love and attention as your one and only.If there’s one thing Margo has taught us, it’s that resilience and joy can go paw in paw. After beating the odds and bravely overcoming parvo at just a few weeks old—with the help of the Humane Society and one incredibly dedicated foster volunteer—this sweet girl has made it her mission to soak up every second of life.Margo has already overcome more than most puppies ever should, but you’d never know it by looking at her. Her bright spirit, playful heart, silly personality, and endless capacity for love shine through in everything she does. Now all she’s missing is a family to share those tail wags, puppy kisses, and zoomies with forever. - Katy, HANBA volunteerHSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight.
