Story
Meet Rusty—your future best friend with a soft heart and a playful spark. This sweet boy came to us due to life circumstances, but he’s ready to start his next chapter with a family to call his own. Rusty has lived happily with other dogs, a cat, and older children, and he brings that same easygoing, loving energy wherever he goes. He’s a social, people-loving pup who truly thrives on connection and companionship. Rusty is the perfect mix of cuddle buddy and fun-loving companion. He’s super affectionate, loves his toys, and walks beautifully on leash, making him a joy to take out and about. He’s also a pretty quiet guy—he doesn’t bark much—but he does have a charming habit of “singing” every now and then, which only adds to his personality. At home, he’s more than happy to relax by your side and even “watch” TV with you after a long day. Rusty is new to the shelter and hoping to find a home as soon as possible—he’s ready to skip the wait and settle into a cozy spot on your couch. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle, and slightly musical companion who gets along with just about everyone, Rusty might be your perfect match.

Story
Eli is new to us, so we’re currently getting to know him and are sharing helpful information provided by his previous home and the shelter. This friendly, loving pup enjoys meeting new people and has a way of making fast friends wherever he goes. Eli is housetrained and already knows commands like sit and stay, which shows how eager he is to connect and learn with his people. Treats are a favorite reward, and he’s always happy to show off his good manners when snacks are involved. Playtime is one of Eli’s favorite parts of the day. He enjoys games of fetch, going for walks, and getting his paws on squeaky toys or a good chew bone. Eli has also been playful with other dogs and got along well with another dog in the home, making him a fun companion for both people and canine friends. Above all, Eli’s best qualities are his loving heart and friendly spirit. He’s the kind of dog who enjoys being part of the action, whether that’s heading out for a walk or relaxing nearby after a day of play. If you’re looking for a friendly companion with a playful side and a lot of love to give, Eli could be a wonderful addition to your home. Reach out to learn more about bringing Eli home through adoption or foster.

Story
Meet Buddy – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Perfect Match! Buddy is a senior Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. With patience and understanding, Buddy has so much love and potential to share. Are you the kind soul ready to give Buddy the forever home he deserves? Story
Ledyba (named after the Pokémon; often shorted to 'Ledy') is my 9YO’s favorite of the puppies because she’s a fantastic cuddler and would curl up with him while he reads all day. She can be very timid to start, but once she’s settled in she’s right there with you, ready to curl up while you work or rest. She’s great on a leash, but sometimes new sounds can trigger a freeze response. Patience has been key in helping her move forward, and her confidence grows every day. She often “checks-in” on a walk, happy to be going on an adventure with you, and my younger kids can handle her without issue. Ledy can be a bit goofy. She doesn’t jump on people, but her zoomies do include loping around like a baby moose. Even so, she’s very aware of her body and I’ve had zero issue with her running into anyone or knocking anyone over. She asks so politely to climb into my lap and has the softest paws when she does it. Ledy’s perfect home would be one that gives her time to figure out new situations. You can apply directly for Ledy by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-833 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. Story
🕊️ NORA Needs a Forever Home!🏠 Nora has been waiting far too long! She's in foster care now but at 9 months old, this Black Mouth Cur mix needs to start her "forever" chapter. Nora's foster mom shares about her sensitive, sweet personality.🌼 True to the Black Mouth Cur personality, Nora is a 'velcro dog' in every sense of the word—Smart, loyal, affectionate, energetic. But in addition to this, protective of her family. When scared, she will warn strangers. Not aggressive—just a sensitive puppy communicating that she’s unsure of their approach. With a slow introduction and a little patience, she adapts quickly. 🤗 Essentials: Nora is house/crate/leash trained! Rides beautifully in the car! 🚗💨 She's energetic and smart...great for training!! 🤗 Social Life: Great with other dogs and loves playing with foster's pack. Seems scared of cats but needs more tests. 🤗 Perfect Balance: She’s happy exploring the great outdoors but just as content snuggling inside with you. Because Nora is an energetic and sensitive soul, she would do best in an active, quieter home. Sudden movements towards her can be a little scary for her. She needs a family who will take things slow and show her that the world is a beautiful place and you’ll have a best friend for life. 🐾❤️ Nora dreams of bonding with her forever family where she can become that beloved part of a home! She needs you! Please submit an online application to set up a meet-and-greet! #AdoptNora
