Story
Say Hello to Dorothy, A Social Butterfly from the Wonderful Wizard of Oz 🐶 Our Dorothy is an explorer. She loves to see the world and to investigate new and interesting smells by having her nose to the ground during her walk. Dorothy is considerate. Even to her friends who approach her mischievously, Dorothy is playful and invites them to play. Dorothy is not shy away expressing her love. When you are spending time with her neighbour longer than expected (in her opinion), Dorothy actively reaches out to you through the hole of her crate and let you know to hurry. It is irresistible when Dorothy rests her head on your shoulder and meets your eyes. Like Dorothy in “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” our Dorothy is compassionate and courageous. She will bring good luck and charm to your life. Could you open your heart and home to this lovely girl?

Story
Welcome Skipper to CCPAL Rescue. Skipper is a 90-pound Ridgeback/Dane mix is our best guess. He is a mush to the people he knows and his breed is very loyal. He was adopted out as a tiny puppy and a year and a half later he was found on the streets skinny and with hair loss. He is now back at the rescue and he is doing great. He is friendly to all of us and very happy to see his friends. He didn’t jump up but he does pull on leash. I don’t think he got to do much leash work. He has an adorable widow’s peak. He would be great for a family who has a traveling father or someone not home. You could feel safe that Skipper would keep the family safe. He looks intimidating and has a big bark but very very gentle and goofy to those he loves. He has a low coat and not a big shedding dog. We would like someone who has worked with an extra-large breed or a Ridgeback. He will do good with a strong owner that is willing to work with him to give him direction and training. He is one of our favorites and we think he may be related to JJ who is also available at CCPAL. Skipper has been checked over by the vet and is in good health. He has been given a Bravecto and is growing hair and putting on weight here at the rescue. He would be a great partner for a jogger and due to his large size could definitely keep up with even a faster stride. He can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We can also work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Zak came back to Resilient Hearts due to a change of circumstances for his owner. We adore this beautiful boy who needs an adopter to help him trust the world a little more. According to our current foster, Zak is an excellent boy in the house. He’s the most loving and cuddly dog she has ever met, is willing to chill and sleep while the humans work. He is crate trained, and has never had a potty incident inside the house. He has the best personality of any dog they've ever fostered. Zak really wants to please his humans. He loves to work on training and learn new tricks - he’s really smart and receptive! Basically he’s an awesome dog. His absolute favorite thing to do is go on walks and sniff all the smells. Zak missed out on some early training. On the leash Zak has been reactive to bigger dogs (not aggression-based, purely excitement) and needs to be approached slowly by strangers. (this one is fear-based). We have been working on both of these and he's doing great. Zak would probably thrive in a more rural suburban environment where encounters with others dogs is less frequent than crowded, urban neighborhoods. He is fine going to homes with other dogs if the chemistry is right. If you would like to meet this beautiful dog, please send us an email to meet this beautiful boy. And please be patient. We have one adoption coordinator doing his best to coordinate adoptions for many pups. WE DO NOT RESPOND TO ADOPT A PET INQUIRIES OR PHONE CALLS, ONLY EMAILS. If you have any additional questions, or would like to adopt Zak, please send us an email at resilientheartsanimalsanctuary@gmail.com and we will send you an adopter survey. Please note that we are a foster to adopt only rescue. As a foster, you get to "test drive" your chosen dog to make sure it's a good fit prior to adoption. We want you and the dog to have the best fit possible! Resilient Hearts is a 501(c)3 nonprofit animal rescue in Seattle, WA. 100% of adoption fees go towards helping us save more high-risk animals, and unite them with their forever families in the PNW! Story
Hi. My Foster mom has named me Ryder, but I'm also called King Tut. I'm a fun-loving pup with a zest for life. I don't let much get me down and I live life to the fullest. I do love attention! I didn't get a very good start in life so I'm working on my house manners, I will need a patient new family who will continue to help me with this. I'm very smart, I know how to sit. I like to fetch. I'm getting better walking on a leash, and I am house broken. My foster mom has a doggie door and I love to run in and out of it, like I said I just love life now that I'm not in the shelter! I do well in my crate for up to 6 hours, but I would much rather be wherever my humans are. I get along with other dogs. I love to wrestle with my foster brother, he's my best new pal! I absolutely hate cats. So, I would love my new family to have a dog friend for me, but not a cat friend, please! I would do wonderful in a family with older kids. I love to rumble and romp. I often forget I am big and strong and can get very excited. My tail is as strong as an airplane propeller! My favorite treats are nylon stick BarkBones and a KONG filled with peanut butter. I would love to find a very active family where I can stay busy because when I get bored, I sometimes like to find things to eat that do not belong to me. I'm still a silly pup and learning, and I want to learn more. I enjoy the car and would love to see more! I can't wait to meet my new family, and hope they have a yard I can play in. Let’s go on some adventures together and explore the new world! To see more pictures and videos of Ryder AKA King Tut copy and paste this link, you can apply directly for Ryder AKA King Tut by clicking the “Apply for Adoption” button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-206 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy’s team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday). We only adopt in the USA. We are open to adopting in other states, except in Massachusetts. There are quarantine laws for MA and until these laws change, we are not able to adopt into MA.
