KIM: The Professional Cuddle EnthusiastSome dogs enjoy affection.Kim has turned it into a full-time profession. If Kim could design her perfect day, it would include a nice walk, some playtime with other dogs, a few snacks, and an unreasonable amount of cuddling. In fact, if there were an Olympic event for receiving affection, we believe Kim would be a serious contender for a medal. What makes Kim especially remarkable is how quickly she decided to trust the good things in life. After spending much of her life surviving on the streets, one might expect her to be cautious, uncertain, or reluctant to adapt. Kim apparently disagreed with that plan completely.Instead, she embraced home life as though she had been practicing for it all along. She learned to walk on a leash, enjoys spending time indoors, comes when called, and loves being close to her people. Not near them. Not in the same room.Close.Kim firmly believes that humans were invented for petting dogs, and she sees no reason to question this conclusion.Additional photographic evidence supporting Kim's theories about humans and petting can be found here:https://hope4lapawz.org/wp1/kim-2026040dShe also loves other dogs and would be delighted to have canine friends to play with, provided they are as friendly and respectful as she is.At heart, Kim is simply a dog who wants to love and be loved. After everything life has asked of her, she remains gentle, trusting, playful, and endlessly affectionate. These days, Kim isn't looking for much.Just a family who enjoys walks, believes in regular cuddle sessions, and doesn't mind having a loyal little shadow following them around.Honestly, she has been preparing for that role her entire life. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

MEET HOWIE! This happy, gentle Lab-Ridgeback-Pit mix is a loverboy! Howie is 6 years young and has a heart full of love to give. He was rescued from a California shelter in very rough shape - he had major skin issues/hair loss and had clearly been neglected, but now he looks so much better, and continues to be on good salmon food and supplements. He's appreciative of love and attention and is a very affectionate boy. Howie is a big snuggler and will want to share your bed! He loves going for walks and other outings. He is good with some dogs but not others, so would probably thrive as the only dog in the home, or with a submissive female. He's been waiting a long time for his own home, and we're hoping he can find a home by the end of the year. Howie currently needs a foster or forever home. He weighs about 55-60 lbs., and is still in California, but can be transported to you in Washington. Please email for an application.

Story
Meet Buddy – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Perfect Match! Buddy is a senior Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix with a heart full of love and a personality that shines once he feels safe. He may be shy at first and take some time to decompress, but once he’s comfortable, his sweet and gentle nature comes through. Buddy absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys their company. He is both house-trained and crate-trained—in fact, his crate is his happy place! When left alone, he prefers the security of his kennel, and even when his humans are home, he often chooses to relax there with the door open. This lovable senior does well on a leash and would thrive in a quiet, low-energy home with a patient adopter who understands that he needs time to adjust. While he hasn't been around young children, his gentle nature suggests he would be great with them. We don’t know how he is with cats, but he gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Buddy’s favorite toys are anything soft and squishy, and he enjoys the simple comforts of companionship. He would be the perfect match for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion who doesn’t need a high-energy lifestyle. With patience and understanding, Buddy has so much love and potential to share. Are you the kind soul ready to give Buddy the forever home he deserves? Story
Lulu is 3 yrs old, born 1/31/2023. She is a happy dog that loves to go to the dog park and make friends. She is great with Children & Small dogs. Was originally my sisters’ dog, but my sister moved to New Zealand & couldn’t afford to take Lulu. Lulu adjusted to moving in with me almost immediately. She is house trained & knows basic obedience. She is still learning leash manners but she is food motivated & easy-going. She does have a seasonal rash on her belly but the vet gives her a shot that clears it right up (allergies). I’ve been working to get her weight down but have not had much luck, (the vet recommended that she be brought down to 49lbs but she is currently 58lbs).She is cuddly. She loves to sit on the couch with you & nap. She is in need of a forever home. I also have a kennel, dog bed & hairbrush that will go with her to help get her settled in. She is nervous stepping onto tile or slippery hard wood but she will get used to it after a few times of being really cautious.

Story
Meet Clint! Clint is a hero in his own right, named after the legendary Hawkeye himself. He is a 3-year-old Catahoula/Pit mix who is athletic, handsome, and always ready for his next mission. He is a high-energy guy who would thrive with active adults (kids 12+) who enjoy hikes, adventures, and keeping life moving. True to his Hawkeye spirit, Clint is agile, strong, and loves to play, especially with confident, social, easygoing dog friends after proper introductions. Clint is deaf and has a visual impairment, so patience and consistency are key. The good news? This smart pup already knows basic commands using sign language and is highly food-motivated, making continued training both fun and rewarding. He may take a little time to warm up, but once he trusts you, he's incredibly friendly, affectionate, and more than happy to roll over and show you his belly as a sign of true friendship. Clint is housetrained, crate trained, and has been around cats without showing a strong prey drive. He is the kind of dog who bonds deeply with his people and will stick by your side like a true Avenger. If you're looking for an adventurous, loyal companion who just needs the right teammate to help him aim true, Clint Barton is ready to join your squad. He can be vocal because he can't hear himself and it can be hard to give him signs from a distance due to that as well. Overall he is a very sweet and playful boy.  Clint is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
