MEET HOWIE! This happy, gentle Rhodesian Ridgeback/pit mix is a loverboy! Howie is 5 years young and has a heart full of love to give. He was rescued from a California shelter in very rough shape - he had major skin issues/hair loss and had clearly been neglected, but now he looks so much better! He's appreciative of love and attention and is a very affectionate boy. He's a big snuggler and will want to share your bed. He loves going for walks and other outings. He is good with some dogs but not others, so would probably thrive as the only dog in the home, or with a submissive female. He's been waiting a long time for his own home, and we're hoping 2025 is his year! Howie currently needs a foster or forever home. He weighs about 55-60 lbs. Please email for an application.

True to his Hawkeye spirit, Clint is agile, strong, and loves to play, especially with confident, social, easygoing dog friends after proper introductions. Clint is deaf and has a visual impairment, so patience and consistency are key. The good news? This smart pup already knows basic commands using sign language and is highly food-motivated, making continued training both fun and rewarding. He may take a little time to warm up, but once he trusts you, he's incredibly friendly, affectionate, and more than happy to roll over and show you his belly as a sign of true friendship. Clint is housetrained, crate trained, and has been around cats without showing a strong prey drive. Romeo is a great guard dog and can be protective with people he does not know, so would do best in a non-congested area where neighbors aren't a concern. Romeo also has a prey drive, so needs a strong owner. He has done great with other dogs in a home setting. He's incredibly smart, affectionate, and will attach to his person or people. His bond is very strong. He is not a big fan of kids. Romeo is easy to groom, is playful, and loves a good belly rub! He will benefit from exercise, and people who understand his breed.
