Meet the cutest Russ. Russ was surrendered due to family illness. He has made lots of new human friends here and settled into the routine well. He loves playing with squeaky toys and tug toys. Today he spent the morning in the office and was an excellent house guest. He ate a pig ear as a treat which he couldn`t quite believe and tried to bury it to save for later! Russ has been a beloved family pet and knows all about how to behave in the home!The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more.Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. This will include reviewing all known medical and behavior information.** Please note that some animals will receive numerous inquiries, sometimes more than we can process. We appreciate you`re understanding and patience. **HOW TO ADOPT: Check the animal`s location.From the Dog Kennels/Dog Isolation/Dog Quarantine (in shelter): To meet this dog, please come to Seattle Animal Shelter at 2061 15th Ave W, Seattle, WA 98119, between 1 - 5 pm on one of our open days, no appointment needed. MEET HOWIE! This happy, gentle Rhodesian Ridgeback/pit mix is a loverboy! Howie is 5 years young and has a heart full of love to give. He was rescued from a California shelter in very rough shape - he had major skin issues/hair loss and had clearly been neglected, but now he looks so much better! He's appreciative of love and attention and is a very affectionate boy. He's a big snuggler and will want to share your bed. He loves going for walks and other outings. He is good with some dogs but not others, so would probably thrive as the only dog in the home, or with a submissive female. He's been waiting a long time for his own home, and we're hoping 2025 is his year! Howie currently needs a foster or forever home. He weighs about 55-60 lbs. Please email for an application.

She is spayed, current on vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. She has a clean bill of health. The adoption fee includes her transport to your area and she is being fostered in Houston TX.
