Story
Gigi is a very special dog! She is a 1.5 years old, spayed, vaccinated, and docked purebred Rottweiler. She is special needs due to a rare autoimmune condition. She was found as a stray in Modesto in poor health. The shelter did not know what was wrong with her, but they knew she needed more help than they could give, so she was set to be euthanized. Thankfully, our rescue stepped in, took her into our care, and got her the help she needs. Our vet diagnosed her with entropion (inverted eyelashes) causing almost total blindness and severe cranial muscle atrophy caused by a rare autoimmune condition called Masticatory Muscle Myositis (MMM) that was left untreated for the first year of her life. After thousands of dollars in treatments and multiple surgeries including the insertion of permanent contacts into her eyes, Gigi can finally see! She has made a full recovery. Gigi is still special needs. She cannot open her mouth more than an inch high, so she is at an increased risk of choking and needs to be monitored with toys. She also has been isolated from the outside world for months while in recovery, so she is still learning about the world around her and how to socialize with new dogs. She is currently dog selective, she gets along with friendly dogs that respect her space. She has not been tested with children or cats.

Story
Meet my sweet 3-year-old Rottweiler—a loyal, loving companion who truly just wants to be close to his person. He’s the kind of dog who will follow you from room to room, happy just to be by your side, and always ready for a walk, some playtime, or a cozy spot to relax near you. He has a gentle, affectionate nature with the people he trusts and forms strong bonds with his family. He’s smart, attentive, and thrives when he has structure, consistency, and someone who understands and appreciates the Rottweiler breed. He would do best in a home where he can feel secure and comfortable, ideally with someone who enjoys dogs and can give him the time, attention, and positive environment he deserves. Like many dogs, he picks up on energy around him, and he truly shines in a calm, dog-friendly home. This is a really special dog with so much love to give—he just needs the right match where he can be his best, happiest self.

!!URGENT- DEADLINE FOR ADOPTION/RESCUE: WED 6/3, @ 5 PM!!Snuggles & SplashesMeet Ginko—a sweet, playful girl who’s equal parts cuddle bug and splash enthusiast!Ginko is happiest when she’s with her person, checking in often on walks and staying nicely focused on her handler. She walks well on leash, knows “sit,” and is very treat-motivated—which makes her a great student for continued training. She’s eager to please and loves having a job to do, even if that job is just being your loyal sidekick. When it’s playtime, Ginko’s fun side really shines. Give her a pool and a toy, and she’ll happily splash around like it’s the best day ever! But after the fun, she’s just as content to head home and curl up for some cozy cuddle time. The big world can feel a little overwhelming for Ginko at times. She did nip when approached by someone she wasn`t comfortable with so she’ll do best with a patient, gentle person who can help her build confidence at her own pace. Once she trusts you, she forms a deep, special bond that’s truly something special. She currently shares space with another dog and may enjoy a canine companion in her future home.If you’re looking for a playful, loving pup who will be your shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your splash partner—Ginko is ready to meet you!Ginko has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in her new home.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out her playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. Story
At two and a half months old, Bingo was found alone in a field and scared. It was discovered shortly after that that he had two congenital heart defects. Right now, one compensates for the other. We do not know what this means for Bingo long-term, but he has no idea he is sick and lives life to the fullest. Bingo is a playful young dog that is approximately one year old. Bingo enjoys his dog and human friends. He has no exercise limitations, so we allow Bingo to self-regulate. Although he would not make a good hiking or running companion, he loves running and playing with friends. He has never met a toy that he doesn’t love. He can self-entertain with a ball for a long time. Bingo is crate-trained but can also be left in the house freely without concern for destruction. He loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping on the human’s bed. Bingo has been raised in a home with several dogs and would prefer to live with another doggy resident. Bingo enjoys outings to the park, lake, and patio restaurants. He is a great companion and snuggly buddy!

Story
Zeus is very smart and playful, he loves toys and learns routines quickly. Zeus loves to play chase and tug anytime. He is learning his manners well, but he still barks and gets excited easily so he may do best somewhere he has a little space to play on his own. He is very friendly with other people, he wants to play and will go get his toys and attempt to engage you in tug of war. He likes to chase balls but is still learning “drop”. If you have a couple toys to alternate with, he will fetch. He loves belly rubs. Zeus loves his treats but is pretty mellow about mealtimes. He will take food from your hand gently. We give him food 3 times a day and he often eats it slowly throughout the day, he doesn’t gobble food or overeat. When we need to give him pills he will eat a spoon of peanut butter with meds with no problem. Zeus crates well; he will go in there easily if you point inside and often takes naps in there on his own. His foster parents are home a lot so he is a little spoiled with attention, but he is used to being in his crate alone for a few hours at a time. He is both affectionate and sometimes self-sufficient. He likes to be with you or cuddle, and he also seems comfortable napping in the ‘other’ room. We have not tested Zeus with cats but he has a strong chase/hunt instinct and always goes after birds or squirrels. Zeus is sweet but he does get excited and can jump or be a rough player. He is learning not to jump up so much, but he does seem to like standing up on his hind legs. He is also pretty vocal when he is playing

Story
Scooby is a 1.5 year old male Boxer mix. According to his first family, he is cat and child friendly. His current foster mom says he is friendly with people and dogs once he warms up to them. Scooby is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. He is medium/high energy: once he gets his energy out, he’s happy to nap with you on the couch. Scooby was unfortunately a surrender to a high kill shelter. A member of his former family said he had been abused and starved by another family member. At the shelter he was sweet but shy with people and dogs. We pulled him before he was set to be euthanized due to shelter overpopulation. In foster, he has gained a lot of confidence and blossomed into the sweet, playful dog we know him to be. He still takes a little time to warm up to new people and dogs, but with his history, we can’t fault him for that.
