He can take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet and gentle personality really shines through. Dino loves rolling over for belly rubs, enjoys going for walks, and would make a wonderful companion for outdoor adventures. We've noticed he can be a bit flinchy at times, which may suggest he hasn't always had the kindest experiences in the past, so he would benefit from a home that can help build his confidence with patience, kindness, and positive reinforcement. With time and trust, Dino blossoms into one of the softest, most loving boys.  The Napa County Shelter Erika Gamez Shelter Manager  942 Hartle Court  Napa, CA  94558  Main Phone: 707-253-4382  Main Fax: 707-253-6191  Kelly Tracey, Shelter Supervisor  ktracey@co.napa.ca.usMay 13, 2026, 12:05 am

Story
Hi! I'm Alistair Mac, and I'm a large breed mystery mix! At 75 pounds, I'm a solid, energetic boy who's already neutered, rides great in the car and is ready for all your adventures! I am very food motivated and eager to please which means training me is a joy. I do need a home with a yard where I can burn off my youthful energy, and would love to go for long walks and hikes with a family as active as I am! No young kids because I might accidentally knock them down. I am waiting for my best friend and hope you are too! 🐾 If interested in meeting me, please complete an application at www.jellysplace.org and submit a Dog Adoption application!

Story
Meet Max!Max has been with us for almost a year, and we truly don’t understand why—he is such a good dog and would be a dream to own. Max is an approximately 4-year-old Rottweiler mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He came to us as a stray, and while his previous owners were located, they sadly couldn’t keep him. Since April 2025, Max has been patiently waiting for his forever home. He’s incredibly sweet, easygoing, and full of life. Max has a good amount of energy but can also entertain himself. He does well with other dogs and thrives with confident, sturdy people. He’s also okay with children, as long as they’re sturdy enough to handle his loving lean of affection. Cats are a bit too exciting for Max, so a cat-free home would be best.Max is ready to leave the shelter behind and start his next chapter with a family who will love him as much as he loves them. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion, Max might be your perfect match.March 17, 2026, 5:37 pm

Story
Gigi is a very special dog! She is a 1.5 years old, spayed, vaccinated, and docked purebred Rottweiler. She is special needs due to a rare autoimmune condition. She was found as a stray in Modesto in poor health. The shelter did not know what was wrong with her, but they knew she needed more help than they could give, so she was set to be euthanized. Thankfully, our rescue stepped in, took her into our care, and got her the help she needs. Our vet diagnosed her with entropion (inverted eyelashes) causing almost total blindness and severe cranial muscle atrophy caused by a rare autoimmune condition called Masticatory Muscle Myositis (MMM) that was left untreated for the first year of her life. After thousands of dollars in treatments and multiple surgeries including the insertion of permanent contacts into her eyes, Gigi can finally see! She has made a full recovery. Gigi is still special needs. She cannot open her mouth more than an inch high, so she is at an increased risk of choking and needs to be monitored with toys. She also has been isolated from the outside world for months while in recovery, so she is still learning about the world around her and how to socialize with new dogs. She is currently dog selective, she gets along with friendly dogs that respect her space. She has not been tested with children or cats.

Story
Jonesy is an older, 84-pound Rottweiler mix. Jonesy is a medium energy guy who knows how to enjoy the slower things in life, but also enjoys long waks. Jonesy is a pleasure to walk on leash. He loves to use his nose and goes on regular sniffaris. Jonesy is extremely food motivated and has proven himself a good candidate for further training. He will need an experienced home committed to further training. Jonesy would do best in an adult-only home. Ideally the person who adopts Jonesy would have experience with Rottweilers or done some research into the breed. Jonesy is comfortable around other dogs with the right match, but would be equally happy as a cherished solo companion. **Jonesy's adoption fee is sponsored by a generous donor!**
