Story
Meet Boogie! A lovable seven-and-a-half-year-old Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix currently living in Redwood City, CA, whose heart is as big as his 83-pound frame and whose sleek black coat shines brightest under the sun. Boogie was rescued just as the new year dawned, and ever since, he's been making up for lost time by soaking in every bit of joy life has to offer, especially if it involves lounging in the dirt after a playful run! This gentle guy is all about balance. He’ll happily curl up for a cozy nap, yet he perks right up when it’s time for a sniff-filled stroll or a quick game of fetch (though, fair warning, he might just bring the toy back for you to hold while he chews it). Boogie’s a sucker for antlers, dirt patches, and the simple pleasure of a good outdoor adventure! He knows a few classic commands like “sit,” “down,” and “stay,” and he’s working hard with a trainer to manage his leash reactivity. While Boogie has gotten along with certain dogs in foster care, he prefers to keep his social circle small. Boogie has a big heart especially for his best friend, Baby. If you're considering a dynamic duo, Boogie and Baby would love nothing more than to find a home together, where they can continue their beautiful bond. A calm, pet-free home without small children would be the perfect environment for Boogie to thrive. On the health front, Boogie needs a bit of extra TLC. He manages skin allergies with the help of medicated baths and visits to a dermatologist. But don’t let that intimidate you, he’s a cooperative guy who just needs a caring routine and a guardian who understands his needs. Could you be the compassionate, outdoorsy family Boogie is dreaming of? If your heart is ready for a meaningful journey with one unforgettable dog reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com!

Story
Meet Coco, a resilient and loving 9-year-old Rottweiler with a heart as big as her spirit. Despite living with Masticatory Muscle Myositis, an immune system disorder that affects her jaw muscles, Coco remains a joyful and athletic companion. This condition means she can’t open her mouth all the way, so she’s on a special home-cooked diet rich in meat and eggs to keep her strength up and takes a daily pill to manage her condition. Coco adores her walks and can be a bit of a puller on the leash if she spots another dog, but she’s always great with people. She’s super athletic and enjoys her time outdoors. Although she can’t play with toys or chew on treats due to her condition, she loves liquid treats and is happy and content in the car. A total sweetheart with a loving demeanor, Coco is also fine being left alone for periods. She’s looking for a compassionate home where she can continue to thrive and enjoy her walks, special meals, and the affection she so generously gives. If you’re ready to provide a warm and understanding environment, Coco will repay you with endless love and loyalty.

Story
Meet Johnny Cash! A spirited three-and-a-half-year-old Boxer/Husky mix currently in Los Angeles, CA, whose essence is a thrilling blend of wild adventure and devoted affection, all wrapped in a striking brindle coat with charming white accents. Cash is a powerhouse of energy and joy, perfect for someone who craves the open trail, a daily runner’s high, or the quiet satisfaction of a long mountain hike. With his strong, athletic build and endless stamina, he's happiest logging 8 to 9 miles beside his human. He’s not just a running buddy, he’s the kind who’ll carry his favorite chew bone to greet you at the door and then snuggle up close when the day is done. At home, Cash is a big-hearted cuddlebug! He adores cozy time with his human family, especially the younger crew, he’s gentle and affectionate with his guardian’s nephews, ages 10 and 13. His play style is impressively adaptable: he loves a good rough-and-tumble with a young Ridgeback, but can switch gears to match the gentler vibe of his senior Staffordshire Terrier pal. That said, Cash has shown a preference for his canine companions and can be selective, he gets along well with some dogs but has made it clear he's not a fan of Frenchies. Cash is house-trained, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and obedience-trained. He knows sit, down, heel, go to place, and more! He thrives on structure and routine and is content being alone for up to six hours. Due to a sensitive stomach, he’s on a hydrolyzed protein and dehydrated diet, which has worked wonders for his digestion. Now, Cash isn’t the right match for every household, his high prey drive is strong and non-negotiable. Shortly after being adopted at five months old, Cash severely injured the family cat. While the cat made a full recovery, the incident required veterinary care, and during the chaos, family members were bitten while attempting to separate the animals. He continues to show intense prey drive toward small animals, and he cannot live with cats or be trusted off leash under any circumstances. He pulls toward squirrels and small dogs on walks and must remain securely leashed at all times outdoors. He needs a guardian who understands and can confidently manage this behavior. Despite these challenges, Cash has a loving heart and a joyful spirit. Could you be the experienced, active pet parent Cash needs to thrive? Email adopt@joyfulpets.com and take the first step toward adventure and a whole lot of love!

Story
Meet Baby! A soulful six-and-a-half-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/Boxer mix currently living in Menlo Park, CA, whose heart is as big as her brindle-and-white frame and whose journey is nothing short of miraculous. Rescued from euthanasia on New Year’s Eve 2024, Baby stepped into the new year with a tail wag and a spirit full of hope! She’s a sweet, affectionate girl who thrives on belly rubs, squeaky toys, and romping around the house or the yard with her favorite humans. Whether she’s tossing a squeaky tennis ball in the air or curling up for a midday nap, Baby brings warmth and joy to every moment! She’s especially wonderful for someone who works from home. She’ll quietly entertain herself with puzzle toys or nap peacefully nearby, but she’s always up for a game of indoor fetch, a stroll around the block, or a breezy car ride. With soulful eyes and a go-with-the-flow vibe, Baby is equal parts loyal sidekick and playful spirit. Baby is incredibly intelligent and already knows sit, down, and wait. Plus, she’s always eager to please! She does require some special care due to underlying allergies, chronic ear infections, and an upcoming surgery for a small mast cell tumor. Her caregivers are actively fundraising to support her continued medical needs, and she remains bright, loving, and full of life through it all. She also has an old ACL injury that doesn’t slow her down too much but may make her a little stiff after a big play session. Baby is dog-reactive and prefers not to share her space with other animals, except for her very best friend, Boogie. If you're considering a dynamic duo, Baby and Boogie would love nothing more than to find a home together, where they can continue their beautiful bond. A calm, pet-free home without small children would be the perfect environment for Baby to thrive. Are you ready to open your heart and home to a gentle, playful girl who’s ready to be your favorite coworker, cuddle buddy, and walking partner? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com and let Baby bring her beautiful light into your life! Content Notice: This pet is represented by Joyful Pets. Story
Meet Mocha! A loving three-and-a-half-year-old Doberman/Golden Retriever mix currently in Oceanside, CA, whose heart is as big as his 80-pound frame and just as full of warmth and devotion. Cloaked in a stunning black and tan coat, Mocha brings the best of both breeds. Loyalty, intelligence, and playful charm into one big bundle of affection who’s convinced he belongs in your lap! Mocha is a joyful spirit at home, where he enjoys romping in the backyard, fetching his favorite toys, and playfully palling around with his smaller dog sibling. He’s a master cuddler and a sweet companion who knows how to unwind after a good round of zoomies. Mocha is house-trained, microchipped, neutered, and knows several handy commands like “sit,” “lie down,” “go,” and even “go to sleep.” His routine is simple: two meals a day, playtime, and lots of love! While he shines with his family and does wonderfully with older kids and familiar guests, Mocha can be cautious around new adults. With slow, structured introductions and a confident caregiver who can guide him through new experiences, he thrives. One of his more memorable moments was when a surprise visit from a neighbor triggered his protective side, he ran after the visitor but never bit, showing more bark than bite. This moment highlights his need for a calm home with thoughtful management during greetings and transitions. Out on walks, Mocha is curious about other dogs but tends to pull on the leash, especially when excited. He’s not reactive or noisy, just strong and eager! A little leash training and daily exercise will go a long way in helping him be the best walking buddy. His ideal family will be experienced with larger dogs, comfortable providing structure, and perhaps have a fenced yard where Mocha can let loose in a safe space. If you're ready to welcome Mocha into your life, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com! What kind of adventures will you and Mocha discover together?
