Meet Jaxx: a smart, loyal dog looking for an experienced and loving home. I adopted Jaxx during the COVID 19 pandemic after losing my German Shepherd, Sam. He came into my life at a time of loss and became a steady, loyal companion. Jaxx is extremely intelligent and knows his core commands, like sit, down, stand, and heel, and he genuinely enjoys mental challenges like hide-and-seek and treat puzzles. Indoors, Jaxx is calm, well-mannered, and relaxed, with only normal excitement at the door. He does very well with my daughter’s tiny 2yr old Morkie, showing he can coexist peacefully with small dogs. Outside, Jaxx can be reactive and needs a patient, confident handler who understands guidance and consistency. Rehoming Jaxx is not a decision I’ve made lightly. I am leaving the country, and he deserves a stable home with someone who can help him thrive. Jaxx learns quickly, bonds deeply, and will be an incredibly devoted companion to the right person.

When he first arrived at the shelter, he was extremely fearful and unsure of people, but with time and patience, he’s blossomed into the sweetest boy. Ted truly believes he’s a lap dog and loves to soak up affection from those he trusts. His favorite things in the world are soft stuffed toys, which he proudly carries around, and tasty treats, which make him highly motivated to learn. Ted would do best in a structured home familiar with his breed and their needs, as he’s still working on his training. Ever want a dog you can flip into 'sport mode'? It's me! Pick me! I would love to do some doggie sports with you! In fact I thrive on them. I started out slow with fetch and learning how to walk nicely on the leash, but I'm ready to move on to bigger things. Maybe I'd enjoy dock diving or fast CAT. I have a high drive and want to please the humans I love, but I'm perfectly fine being crated. I would do best as an only dog or as a member of a crate and rotate pack. My adopter should have a fenced in yard that I can run in and have experience with sports dogs. I'm excellent when I get my energy out, but I can be destructive without exercise.
