Story
I rescued Bartholomew 4 months ago from a shelter he was at for over a year. He was abandoned overnight tied to a pole. He doesn’t do well in the shelter environment, is afraid of shadows, has slight toy and food aggression due to his time there. He has been absolutely thriving in the home environment though. He loves to play fetch, go on walks and hikes, and is even a great snuggler! He responds well to commands such as sit, stay, come, heel, and down. He does not do well with children and as I have 3 I unfortunately cannot keep him. I just want him to find a good home and try to keep him out of the shelter.

Story
Cowboy is a handsome rottweiler/shepherd mix that has the most beautiful honey-colored eyes. When Cowboy looks at you, he looks right into your soul. While his eyes are beautiful, they are still sad, as they know, he has nobody wanting him. This boy is 2 years old and weighs 54 lbs. Cowboy has been at the sanctuary since he was a tiny puppy, along with his siblings. About 22 months ago, back around June of 2024, a rescue asked for them to take him and 3 siblings into care at just 8 weeks old with commitment to help financially and take them on the next transport. The rescue delayed, delayed and delayed. They didn't give a dime to their care before ultimately ghosting them completely once they were 5 months old. THEN, another rescue stepped in and tagged them. They ended up ALSO completely ghosting 6 weeks later. The sanctuary, based in South Texas along the Texas/Mexico border, had little options back then. They begged for help, and nobody stepped in to help. Unfortunately, it led to Cowboy and his siblings growing up without ever knowing what their forever is. Cowboy could have had his forever home 2 years ago, instead, 2 rescues took that away from them. This is where we have stepped into help. We want to help Cowboy find his forever home he so deserves. Cowboy loves to hang out in the AC and next to people. He is quiet, chill and so relaxed. When he is outside, he loves to sit in the pools and cool down. He does not want craziness and does not need lots of energy, just needs proper exercise and lots of love. Cowboy loves other dogs but would not mind at all being an only dog. He is currently in the sanctuary with other dogs. His favorite treats are hot dogs; he can never get enough of them. Cowboy likes to sit back and watch the chaos of other dogs rather than joining in. He just wants to sunbathe, relax and love life! Cowboy requests strong toys, as anything less will be nothing more than fluff when he is done with it. But man, he LOVES his toys! Cowboy knows how to walk on a leash and gets very excited when going for a walk. He will grab the leash with his mouth and try to walk himself. He LOVES adventures. The sanctuary has pigs, and we know for sure he gets along with them! Cowboy is smart, loyal, and has the best smile. He does not need a lot, but does need someone with patience, love, and a kind heart. Cowboy wants his best friend, and we hope his best friend is out there for him. Cowboy is fixed (spayed/neutered), heart worm positive (they have received the 30-day course of antibiotics and need to stay on heart worm prevention for 12-16 months and be retested then), current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. PLEASE READ BELOW: To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We ONLY do adopt in Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee listed ($495) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the Northeast. Transport goes to the following locations every 2-3 weeks: Albany, NY - Brewster, NY - New York, NY Wells, VT and Brattleboro, VT Nashua, NH - Only one transport company goes here, times vary Willington, CT - Stamford, CT - Dayville, CT Steubenville, OH - Cincinnati, OH - Grove City, OH Grove City, PA and Washington, PA Ridgefield, NJ and Mt Laurel, NJ Emmitsburg, MD and Elkton, MD Falls Church, VA and Glenn Allen, VA We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home. Story
We acquired our Rottweiler from a breeder in South Carolina. He is 2 years old and has been a wonderful part of our family. Unfortunately, with a baby on the way, balancing work, preparing for our child, and giving him the time and attention he deserves has become difficult. We are looking for a loving, responsible home where he will be well cared for and treated as part of the family. He has an excellent temperament and is very friendly. He loves kids, enjoys being around people, gets along well with other animals, and is not a frequent barker. He is calm, well-mannered, and not overly energetic. Some of his favorite things are car rides, treats, and spending time with his people. We love him very much and want to ensure he goes to a home that will give him the love, attention, and care he deserves.

Story
Meet Blitz! Blitz is a 7-year-old, 55 pound working dog. He's smart, food driven, and loves playing fetch. He sleeps through the night in his crate, is house trained, loves learning new tricks, and can be good with other dogs if they allow him to calmly greet them. Blitz would do best in an adult only home, with an owner who is active. He loves going on walks, runs, hikes and car rides. He can be wary of new people, and will need someone to continue to train him on confidence building. Blitz will walk in a heel when requested, he is a quick learner, super food motivated, and will LOVE his owners immensely. Update from foster Mom: With his people, he is the BEST dog, and he's good with dogs if they aren't pushy. He's a quick learner, a cuddle bug, and house-trained. He LOVES hiking with me in the woods, has an amazing recall, and loves playing fetch. I believe he would be the best dog on a farm, where he isn't forced to interact with strangers. I strongly believe that when he is off leash, he will choose to avoid strangers as opposed to confronting them. So why has this amazing already trained pup been with us so long? He doesn't do too well with strangers. We've gotten people interested, but seemingly they seem to ignore his "wary of new people" bit in his bio, and those who have applied want a friendly dog who is ok with meeting everyone. Are you someone who will allow Blitz to become comfortable with strangers slowly? Maybe an active outdoorsy introvert? Or okay with leaving your pup at home while you go out to be extroverted? Blitz is AMAZING. He just needs someone who understands he isn't too fond of people until he feels safe with them. This means not allowing others to approach him on walks and when out and about. No trips to Home Depot or TJ Maxx for this guy. He only needs outings with his new parents! P.S. This means he will take time to warm up to you too! If you are interested in finding out more about Blitz, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO-A-67 Blitz is being fostered in Grafton. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
