You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please meet Dennis—he’s not a menace! In fact, he’s one of the gentlest, most affectionate dogs you’ll ever meet. Likely a Rottweiler and Plott Hound mix, Dennis is about 1–2 years old and has a big heart to match his love for life. His absolute favorite thing? Playing fetch! He’d happily chase toys all day long if he could. Dennis is smart, eager to please, and incredibly loving. With his playful energy and loyal personality, he’s sure to become a cherished companion for someone lucky enough to adopt him. If you’re looking for a best friend who brings both fun and affection to your life, Dennis is your guy! Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. Ruby

Rottweiler

Female, 6 yrs 2 mos
Seville, OH
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Ruby and her sister Dakota have had a long journey. They came from a home where they were not living in a sanitary environment which they escaped several times. During these ventures throughout the neighborhood, Ruby specifically sought out a few cats. Without going into details, it did not end well for the cats. Ruby just has a high prey drive, so any home she goes to can absolutely not have cats. She gets along with her sister Dakota for the most part, but has been slightly reactive around other dogs. It is not impossible for her to enjoy other dogs, but it will likely take repeated, slow introductions. Ruby is incredibly sweet and loves people, she just would shine best as the only animal in the home. Ruby has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested neg. for heartworm which is included in the adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this dog, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays)

Dakota and her sister Ruby have had a long journey. They came from a home where they were not living in a sanitary environment which they escaped several times. During these ventures, Ruby sought out several cats. Although Dakota did not engage, we believe it would be safest that she be in a home without any kitties. She gets along with her sister Ruby for the most part, but has been slightly reactive around other dogs. Story
Kona arrived as a stray. She is a big girl and loves people. We are guessing her to be 3 pulse years. She is very selective of her doggy friends. She keeps her kennel clean and loves her toys.  If you have interest please stop in during our regular business hours to meet and apply for him. Dogs do not go home the same day as meeting--we review applications first.March 19, 2026, 12:16 am

Story
Obi is a 95 lb ox.  He is social and often times has zero respect for space. Obi will NEED and require obedience training.  While he does know sit he is not consistent with listening because he has the attention span of a fly.   Obi is a large boy----he can be reactive (barky) with other dogs so meet and greets with other dogs is required and must be scheduled in advance.  He has been neutered, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested negative, and is microchipped.  Due to his size and lack of access to be able to test him----we suggest a home with out cats.  It is unknown how he is with children BUT based on his jumping and energy we suspect he would be a candidate to knock down little ones.....so perhaps teenagers and older would be best. Familiarity with the breed is a plus.  He is a big boy, strong on lead and can be a bit overwhelming due to his size.   Please call ahead to schedule an appt to meet him.  Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt.
