Tank’s journey has been a bumpy one—he was rehomed when his original owner had to move, and was later found as a stray. He took part in a brief trial adoption, but was returned due to having separation anxiety and his barking causing tension with a neighbor. He was adopted earlier this year but recently returned because his adopters sadly lost their home. Through it all, he’s stayed a sweet, loyal boy. Tank is said to be good with dogs and kids, but he’d prefer a home without cats.Once he settles in and those first-day jitters fade, Tank is an absolute joy to be around. He may be a little shy at first, which is totally understandable in a loud shelter full of unfamiliar dogs, but give him a minute and you’ll see the goofy, loving side he’s been waiting to share.If Tank sounds like the companion your family has been missing, we’d love to set up a meet-and-greet! 🎄

Charlie just turned 3 years old — a birthday she spent, once again, behind the walls of the shelter she’s called home for almost a year and a half. 🥀She’s a beautiful Rottweiler/Retriever mix with the softest eyes and the sweetest soul… but you’ll have to earn the chance to see that side of her. Charlie struggles with meeting new people — the world hasn’t always been kind to her — but if someone could just give her a few chances, visit her a couple of times, sit quietly nearby and let her heart unfold on its own… they’d find the most loyal, gentle, loving dog waiting underneath the fear. 💔Once she trusts you, she’s pure sunshine — a snuggly, kiss-giving, tail-wagging angel who will follow you anywhere. She walks beautifully on a leash, rides calmly in the car, and loves to stretch her legs running around the yard before curling up in a soft bed or a pile of blankets. She doesn’t care much for toys — she just wants love, safety, and someone to finally stay. 🐾Charlie has done well with some dogs here, but she takes her time getting comfortable — both with people and other pets. She’d do best in a quiet, low-traffic home with no young kids or cats.She’s a staff and volunteer favorite because we’ve seen the real her — the dog that greets you with kisses, melts into your lap, and looks at you like you’re her entire world. 🌙We keep telling her that her person is out there. That someone will see past the nerves and realize what a once-in-a-lifetime dog she truly is. Obi is a 95 lb ox.  He is social and often times has zero respect for space. Obi will NEED and require obedience training.  While he does know sit he is not consistent with listening because he has the attention span of a fly.   Obi is a large boy----he can be reactive (barky) with other dogs so meet and greets with other dogs is required and must be scheduled in advance.  He has been neutered, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested negative, and is microchipped.  Due to his size and lack of access to be able to test him----we suggest a home with out cats.  It is unknown how he is with children BUT based on his jumping and energy we suspect he would be a candidate to knock down little ones.....so perhaps teenagers and older would be best. Familiarity with the breed is a plus.  He is a big boy, strong on lead and can be a bit overwhelming due to his size.   Please call ahead to schedule an appt to meet him.  Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Darrell came in as a stray. We have no background or history for him. We recommend that he goes to a home without cats only because he was extremely eager to go after our house cats. Darrell does not seem to be reactive to the other dogs he passes by here in the kennels. If you have another dog in your home, we will want to do a meet and greet with them and Darrell. This gorgeous brindle girl is Bailey. Bailey is a Rottweiler mix. She has typical puppy energy and loves to play. Bailey is doing great living with cats, kids and other dogs. Bailey is looking for an active family who is willing to invest some time in her training so she can become the bestest girl! Bailey is still working on proper leash manners and can pull when she gets excited or nervous. Bailey is also still working on potty training but she's very close and with consistency will be fully trained quickly. This girl is smart, eager to please and is very treat motivated!
