Story
Charlie just turned 3 years old — a birthday she spent, once again, behind the walls of the shelter she’s called home for almost a year and a half. 🥀She’s a beautiful Rottweiler/Retriever mix with the softest eyes and the sweetest soul… but you’ll have to earn the chance to see that side of her. Charlie struggles with meeting new people — the world hasn’t always been kind to her — but if someone could just give her a few chances, visit her a couple of times, sit quietly nearby and let her heart unfold on its own… they’d find the most loyal, gentle, loving dog waiting underneath the fear. 💔Once she trusts you, she’s pure sunshine — a snuggly, kiss-giving, tail-wagging angel who will follow you anywhere. She walks beautifully on a leash, rides calmly in the car, and loves to stretch her legs running around the yard before curling up in a soft bed or a pile of blankets. She doesn’t care much for toys — she just wants love, safety, and someone to finally stay. 🐾Charlie has done well with some dogs here, but she takes her time getting comfortable — both with people and other pets. She’d do best in a quiet, low-traffic home with no young kids or cats. She’s a staff and volunteer favorite because we’ve seen the real her — the dog that greets you with kisses, melts into your lap, and looks at you like you’re her entire world. 🌙We keep telling her that her person is out there. That someone will see past the nerves and realize what a once-in-a-lifetime dog she truly is. But with every day that passes, she waits a little longer.Maybe you’re the one she’s been waiting for. 🖤More information? Meet Mongo, our sweet senior rotty who has been in our care since March 2024. He is neutered, fully adoptable, and thriving in his foster home. Mongo is house trained, curious, and still impressively active for his age. He has plenty of puppy like energy and is a total wiggle butt who loves being around his people. Mongo is looking for a home with no other animals, though he has done well with dogs his size or larger. With his gentle heart and goofy charm, he is the sweetest old man and will make a wonderful companion for someone ready to give him the loving retirement home he deserves.

Story
Meet Hank! Hank found himself back at the pound for barking and jumping too much, and not listening… but after spending time with him, it’s clear this young guy wasn’t being bad — he was just being a dog who wanted attention, play, and companionship.Hank was excited and affectionate in the yard earlier, eager to interact and have fun. Yes, he jumps — not out of defiance, but out of enthusiasm and love. When playtime ended and he was left alone, he cried and barked, clearly hoping for more time with his person. This boy thrives on human connection. He appears to be potty trained and walks fairly well on a leash. Hank hasn’t shown any issues around the other dogs at the pound, though he’ll be dog-tested again to make sure he’s a good match for potential furry siblings.Hank would do best with an active adopter who understands young dogs need time, patience, and outlets for their energy. With consistent guidance, playtime, and affection, Hank will be an incredible companion. He’s a good boy. He just needs the right person to grow up with.

Story
Meet Whiskey – A Spirited Girl Looking for a Fresh Pour on Life!Dumped by her original owner, 2 1/2 year old Whiskey found herself at the pound, confused but still full of love. She was adopted into a home with another dog who seemed to be her long-lost sibling. The plan? BFFs forever. The reality? These two were a full-blown case of littermate syndrome – fence-hopping, chaos-causing, and giving the neighborhood something to gossip about. Now back at the pound, Whiskey is hoping for a fresh start. She’d do best in a home where she can receive structure, affection, and maybe even be the only pup (or carefully matched with the right dog friend). She’s loyal, energetic, and still believes in second chances. If you're looking for a sweet girl with a bold name and a big heart, pour yourself a little Whiskey – the kind that makes your life better, not wilder.

Story
Meet Nala, our resident beefcake with a heart of gold. 💪💖Nala is strong, solid, and impressive at first glance — but give her a moment and you’ll see what she really is: a total love bug who just wants affection, reassurance, and someone to call her own. She does best as the only pet in the home, but she’s great with children and thrives on human companionship. Her past hasn’t been kind. Nala came to the shelter emaciated, after spending much of her life locked in a crate, with painful urine-scalded feet and legs. Despite everything she endured, she never lost her gentle spirit or her desire to trust people. She’s had professional training, giving her a solid foundation, and she wants so badly to do the right thing. After waiting at the shelter for quite some time, Nala finally found a home — only to be returned recently due to her adopter experiencing serious health issues. Through no fault of her own, she’s back, confused and waiting again.Nala has already survived more than any dog should have to. What she needs now is stability, patience, and someone who will see past her muscles to the soft heart underneath. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion and can offer her a pet-free home, Nala is ready to love you with her whole big body and even bigger heart. 🐾More information?
