Story
How this pet arrived:Kayden was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on October 11, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Kayden is beyond sweet, a sophisticated lady whose heart belongs to quiet, calm environments and the luxury of a soft bed. She is a soulful girl who likes to take life at her own pace, especially while she is settling into a new space. While she isn't one for forced handling like grooming, baths, or big hugs right away, the reward for your patience is truly special. Once she feels safe and comfortable, Kayden won't hesitate to gently rest her head on you, leaning in for those perfect, soft scritches. When she isn't lounging, you'll see her personality shine on her daily walks-this gal doesn't just walk, she trots with the elegance of a show dog! A few ground rules for Kayden's dream home: she is strictly looking for a "no-critter" zone. That means no cats and no other small critters to distract her from her beauty sleep. Because she can be a bit fearful during medical visits, she's looking for a family who will seek out a Fear Free veterinarian to ensure she always feels secure and supported. Kayden is waiting for the special someone who can make her dreams of a peaceful home a reality. If you're ready to welcome this graceful lady into your life, bring a leash and collar and make sure you have a soft bed waiting for her when you adopt Kayden today! Story
How this pet arrived:This pet was brought in by a community member on Jan. 22, 2016. Why this pet is the one for you: Meet Steamed Dumpling, a sweet dog whose personality is a delightful mix of friendly, curious and gentle with a little goofiness thrown in! He has charmed the staff caring for him as they've successfully worked to bring this shy and fearful pup out of his shell. Steamed Dumpling can still be a bit shy with new faces and spaces and appreciates some extra time to build trust. But once he's comfortable, he blossoms into a warm and gentle companion who will solicit full-body pets and snuggles. Steamed Dumpling recently discovered the pleasure of a good belly rub, and the fun of finding treats hidden inside soft toys! He even shows positive interest in making friends with other dogs he encounters. Because of Steamed Dumpling's shy nature, he may thrive best in a lower-traffic household with minimal loud noises. If you're ready to give Steamed Dumpling the love and care he deserves, and learn how to help him continue his amazing progress, speak to an adoption counselor to learn more today! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for adoption! Primary Color: Black Weight: 51 Age: 1yrs 1mths 1wks

Story
Bella Bagel was surrendered by her owner for unknown reasons to Lancaster Shelter. Understandably, the shelter environment left her feeling scared and confused. Sadly, that meant she didn’t always show her true self when potential adopters walked by her kennel. On February 10th, we welcomed Bella as a Frosted Face. She is 12 years old and weighs 41 lbs. Bella is currently enjoying a two-week Frosted Fling, giving her the chance to relax, decompress, and show us who she truly is in the comfort of a home environment. This time helps us learn more about her personality, preferences, and needs, so we can find her the very best forever match. Stay tuned for updates from Bella's foster family! To meet Bella, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

How this pet arrived:This pet was brought in by their previous owner on 1/26/2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Luna may be shy with new faces and places, but once she feels safe, her sweet nature shines through and she forms meaningful bonds with her people. In our care, she has made great strides in opening up to her familiar handlers, soliciting affection, playing with toys and even getting the zoomies! She loves going on walks and is excellent on leash. Luna will require ongoing daily medication to help manage her hypothyroidism and would thrive with a patient family who respects her boundaries and discomfort with certain types of handling. Boxer mix – White & Brown Female 3 years 57 pounds Meet Sunny Boo Boo, a goofy Boxer girl who came to Rancho Coastal Humane Society ready for her fresh start. True to her name, she brings bright, bouncy energy wherever she goes and would thrive in a home that’s comfortable with a little rowdiness. Story
Boxer mix Female 11 months 26 pounds Coco – Affectionate, Playful Boxer Mix Looking for Her Forever Family Coco is an 11-month-old, 26-lb boxer mix with a big heart and playful spirit. She loves toys, cuddles, and being close to her people. She’s currently being fostered after being rescued from a hospital parking lot in Tijuana, where she was left tied up when her former owner became ill and could no longer care for her. For several days, Coco waited there—gentle, hopeful, and grateful for every bit of attention she received. After getting to know her and seeing how loving she was, we couldn’t leave her behind. Coco was taken to a veterinarian for a full health check, vaccinations, microchipping, and has been thriving in foster care ever since. Coco adores people and bonds quickly. She’s done wonderfully with adults and young children and greets everyone she meets with enthusiasm and affection. She also gets along very well with other dogs and would be especially happy in a home with a canine sibling or people who enjoy playtime, walks, and interactive companionship. She is house-trained, knows to wait to go outside, and is currently learning leash manners. Like many young dogs, she’s still polishing those skills, but she’s eager to learn and responds well to guidance. Coco loves toys—especially chew toys—and while she can entertain herself, her favorite thing is being part of whatever her people are doing. She’s equally happy playing or curling up close for cuddles. Coco is energetic in the best way: playful, curious, and full of joy. She would do well in a home that can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and engagement. An apartment can absolutely work for her with an adopter who enjoys getting out for walks, playtime, or other activities to help her burn off her puppy energy. She is healthy, appears to have been well cared for earlier in life, and has no known medical issues. Coco will be spayed prior to adoption. Coco is currently being fostered while we thoughtfully search for the right forever home where she can truly thrive. She is a healthy, loving, and joyful young dog with an incredible capacity for affection and companionship. If you’re looking for a playful, people-loving pup who will bring energy, warmth, and devotion into your life, Coco is ready to meet you and become a cherished part of your family.
