How this pet arrived:Kayden was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on October 11, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Kayden is a sweet, sophisticated lady who thrives in a quiet, calm home and appreciates the luxury of a soft, cozy bed. She takes her time settling into new spaces, but once she feels safe, her gentle nature really shines-she'll softly lean in and rest her head on you, asking for those just-right scritches. On walks, Kayden carries herself with a graceful little trot, like she's showing off her own personal runway style. She also has a wonderfully goofy side-when she finds a patch of grass or a small hill, she'll flop onto her back and do her signature "shimmy shimmy," wiggling back and forth in the silliest, most entertaining way. Kayden is looking for a peaceful home without young children and no other small animals, where she can truly relax. She can feel unsure during medical visits, so a family committed to a Fear Free veterinarian will help her stay comfortable and confident. Bella Bagel was surrendered by her owner for unknown reasons to Lancaster Shelter. Being left there was understandably confusing and scary for this gentle soul, and she didn’t show her true self when potential adopters walked by her kennel. On February 10th, we happily welcomed Bella as a Frosted Face. She is 12 years old and weighs 66 lbs. Since then, Bella has enjoyed two Frosted Flings, giving her the opportunity to relax, settle into a home environment, and show us her true personality. Although each home was different — one had children, both had smaller dogs, and one even had a cat — the outcome was the same: Bella is amazing and so deserving of a loving forever home. Here's the scoop from her most recent foster home: "Bella is a very good, very smart girl. She knows my dogs get post-eyedrop treats, so she always hangs around in the hopes that she'll get one too - which of course, she does, even though she doesn't get eye drops. I learned that she knows the commands "drop it", "sit", and "stay, which sure come in handy when I'm feeding the other dogs. Bella has lots of love and loyalty to give. She's well- behaved, perfectly house-trained and quiet! She's healthy and takes no meds. Bella wants to be someone's best pal. Maybe yours?" Her foster mom reports: "If there were an “easy button” for dogs, Bella might be it! She meshed well with our resident animals (a cat and a small very senior dog), had no separation anxiety, and was fine with full freedom in the house while I was at work all day. Bella knows her name as well as some commands, including "sit" and "shake." Bella fully embraced family life, slept in bed every night with my daughter on a 9pm–7am schedule, came with me to sports practice, and had a slumber party with some neighborhood tweens. Bella became a canine celebrity amongst the neighborhood kids. She loves her smelling tours (aka walks) and can go the distance if you want a longer walk, but she’s just as happy meandering around the neighborhood taking in all the smells. Other dogs do excite her a bit on leash, but she’s manageable. I suspect she just wants to play since our resident animals are a bit on the fuddy-duddy side! Bella tried to engage our cat in play daily, but the cat was uninterested. When the cat told Bella to back off, she obliged. Bella has been a wonderfully easy, sweet foster.
