Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Pup Pup, a sweet but shy dog who's still learning that the world isn't so scary. She needs a patient and understanding family to help her build confidence, especially when it comes to leash walking. An attached, fenced patio or yard will be essential for her as she continues to learn. Pup Pup may thrive in a home with a similarly sized, social dog who can show her the ropes. Because of her history of chasing cats, a feline-free home would be best. Any kids in her new home should also be over the age of 8 due to her shyness. With the right environment, Pup Pup will blossom into the loyal companion you've been looking for! DOB: August 2018Weight: 27 lbsDisposition: Confident, Inquisitive, PlayfulEthel was rescued on 5th August 2020 during a slaughterhouse closure together with another 14 dogs conducted by FOUR PAWS in Kampong Thom, Cambodia. After rescue she was housed at Animal Rescue Cambodia in Phnom Penh until she flew stateside at the beginning of December 2020 when she joined us at The Barking Lot.Ethel has the cutest little ears there ever was and their a dead giveaway for her Shar Pei roots! This lovely girl used to be timid around other dogs, especially at dinner time. Like many of our rescues who have been through traumatic experiences, she gets defensive about her food. The rest of the time, Ethel can be coy, but she is learning to trust again and is really relaxed with her caretakers. Ethel has a lovely, inquisitive nature and is building trust with new people daily. She enjoys handling and cuddles from people she trusts and is treat motivated. How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in a community member Why this pet is the one for you: Meet Popobawa, known as Popo. Popo has a big head, a really big head, both literally and figuratively. Literally because his kind of dog has a big head. But he has a big head figuratively because he knows that with some help and good care, he will be one mighty fine big headed dog. He has no doubt about that. He is already house trained so that is behind him. He does not really care for other dogs and he barks at them and other things.. He wants someone to teach him, using positive reinforcement techniques, how to respond without barking. He wants someone to teach him commands so he knows when to sit and stay. He is hoping that after he learns the good dog stuff, someone will teach him some tricks, like shake paw and high five so he can show off. Popo wants lots of space and outdoor time. He wants a quiet environment without other dogs living in his space. He wants tranquility, care and love. Do you have that for Popo and do you have the desire to train a dog with a big head to be a mellow, well behaved dog for you? If you do, we can help you with the training stuff and Popo will be right by your side.> If so, bring a big leash and ask to meet Popo with the big head.
