Once she gets comfortable with you, her sweet and silly side comes out. Playful and goofy: Tootsie loves running and tossing her plush toys into the air, and picking them back up for another round. Independent and thoughtful: Tootsie can be a little aloof and is generally more interested in exploring than accepting treats or attention. She may take some time before considering someone part of her inner circle. Affectionate on her terms: Once comfortable, Tootsie may seek out attention and ask for butt scratches. She also enjoys gentle pets around her neck and will come into your hand for affection, although she can be a little skittish if approached too quickly. Gentle treat taker: Tootsie takes treats gently and will happily approach for a snack—even if she leaves you with a little extra slobber in exchange! This handsome sweetheart lets you know he's happy and relaxed by unwinding his adorable tail, and lately, he's been a happy guy. Teddy is about 54lbs (and needs to gain a few more). He loves a game of fetch and gets the zoomies sometimes before he's ready for a cuddle break. He loves to go out on walks and has done well on leash. He's a playful, dog- and people-friendly pup and eager to jump in the car for an adventure. He'd be happy to stay home to play with toys, too. He's been charming volunteers with his sweet nature while he recovers from some procedures to improve his hearing and vision. Teddy will need time to adjust to rescued life, and may need support with house-training. Come meet him and be the reason his tail unwinds! (AM)

Camilla is a gorgeous cream shar-pei mix and this girl landed in the shelter after being abandoned in an RV with other dogs. Cami has lived with other dogs, but we've found she would do best as an only dog or a with neutral or submissive male dogs. She is very good with people, and apparently has seen the world (or maybe US) by car/travel. Camilla is about 4 years old, is spayed and had entropion eyelid surgery and has all her vaccines and a microchip. She is about 45 pounds. Story

Smudge is a good boy that ended up with mange and eyelid issues that likely landed him in the shelter. This handsome guy is just over a year old, according to our vet, and is a tad underweight at 43 pounds. Well, his new life is here. He navigated our let's office like a champ on day 1 out of the shelter, greeting strangers like friends! He is being treated for the mange and is expected to have a full recovery with no longer term skin issues. He has also recently been neutered and has had entropion eyelid surgery so he can see his new life beautifully! In the meantime, we have learned he is super friendly, is fine around other dogs (mostly ignores them in favor of people), does get a little queasy in the car (drooling only) and is an all-around gentleman. We will post more as we learn about Smudge. He is fostering in the SF Bay greater area.October 1, 2026, 7:06 am
