Story
Meet Pearl! A sweet and spirited six-month-old Shar Pei/Siberian Husky mix currently in Los Alamitos, CA, whose essence shines through her soft cream and tan coat and her endlessly wagging tail. Pearl is a bundle of playful energy and snuggly affection, already showing the heart and smarts of a lifelong companion in the making! Pearl’s favorite things in the world? People, pups, and playtime! She’s incredibly social and absolutely adores human attention. Whether it’s a walk around the block, backyard ball toss, or some quiet cuddle time after a long day. And speaking of fetch, Pearl is a pro! She’ll happily chase after a squeaky toy or tennis ball and bring it right back, every single time, with a look of pure joy on her face. Pearl thrives in the company of other dogs and would blossom in a home with a friendly canine sibling to romp and relax with. She's wonderfully quiet for such a young pup (no barking, no whining) just gentle tail wags and soulful eyes. Though she’s still learning the ropes, Pearl picks up new routines quickly. She’s potty trained, using pee pads inside when the door is closed, and heads outside on her own when given access. At night, she might sneak into bed when the air gets chilly (carefully, gently, without waking anyone) just to curl up beside someone warm. It’s a little ritual that speaks volumes about her loving nature. Pearl would do best in a peaceful, cat-free home, as past experiences with less-than-friendly felines have left her longing for more harmony. She’s spayed, vaccinated, and healthy, with plenty of pep in her step and so much love to give. Her ideal family will offer daily walks, a fenced yard to explore, and most importantly, a big-hearted pup sibling to share her days with. Are you ready to welcome a loyal, playful, and affectionate young companion who’s always up for an adventure or a nap by your side? Pearl can’t wait to meet you! Story
We named him Spalding because his face looks like a catcher's mitt! He is so much fun and loves the attention. You can squish his face all day long and he will be your best friend. Spalding loves his walks. He weighs 55 pounds, and is pretty easy to be around. He does well with other dogs and initiates play with my female Staffordshire terrier. He can definitely benefit from leadership and training. Overall, he is a great dog that will bring you so much joy! All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

Story
Bruce is a very special boy. I love him. I have had him long enough to know how he thinks and what sets him off. I believe in being 100% transparent as I do not want to fail any of our beloved dogs. I expect the same from adopters. Bruce likes a quiet indoor environment with limited time outdoors. He likes short walks but even then he will just lay down and not budge. He does not like loud noises like drills or other mechanical things he will get upset. He is very smart and understands when he is being spoken to but he is stubborn. I do not recommend any children. (he will not do well with kids) I do not recommend other pets. (We have had him around other dogs and he gets along until something upsets him.) Bruce needs a very calm home.

Story
Meet Blu! A vibrant approximately almost two-year-old Boxer/American Pitbull Terrier mix currently living in Los Angeles, CA, whose boundless energy is perfectly matched by her big heart and beautiful brown brindle coat with white accents. Blu’s story began in the most unexpected way, she followed a kind soul home from a grocery store and never looked back. Since then, she’s been spayed, vaccinated, and doted on with loving care. Living alongside two senior pups and a couple of confident cats, Blu has shown gentle patience and a genuine eagerness to belong. But it’s clear she’s ready for more, a space to stretch her legs, a routine to call her own, and a family ready to match her curiosity with companionship. At 65 pounds, Blu is a large pup with a personality even bigger! She’s affectionate, incredibly smart, and motivated to please. Her favorite pastimes? Fetch with her beloved soft frisbee, epic tug-o-war matches, chewing on yak cheese, and zooming around the yard like a joyful whirlwind! She also enjoys a bit of enrichment through supervised shredding. She loves tearing up soft toys (like her Tearable monster toy!) and has discovered the fun of tugging on cardboard strips offered to her during training. It’s been a creative way to channel her natural need to rip and chew, and she hasn’t chewed on anything off-limits in months. Blu knows an impressive list of commands including sit, wait, down, up, leave it, come, and more! She responds well to structure and loves training, especially when it comes with treats and praise. Though she’s still working through her sensitivity to passing cars and men in baseball caps, she’s made steady progress with positive reinforcement. Blu is still a young dog, she's energetic and can get excitable. This usually results in jumping up on people and cobbing, though her caregivers have done a lot of work to help her manage these behaviors. She can also be destructive when under-stimulated, which makes regular mental and physical enrichment essential. She does best with three walks a day, plenty of playtime, and enrichment activities to keep her mind engaged. A fenced yard is a big plus, as is a family who enjoys an active lifestyle and has time to include her in their daily routine. She’s crate-trained, house-trained, and has been comfortable being left alone for short periods. Blu is searching for a new loving home where she can thrive. Somewhere with room to romp, people to love, and someone who finds her endearing mix of sweetness and spunk just as delightful as we do! Are you ready to make Blu your loyal sidekick and adventure buddy? To learn more about adopting Blu, contact adopt@joyfulpets.com! Content Notice: This pet is represented by Joyful Pets. Story
Meet Yuli! A spirited five-year-old Boxer mix currently in Springfield, OR, whose essence is a heartwarming blend of devotion and goofy charm wrapped in a handsome brown brindle coat with white accents. Affectionately nicknamed a “velvet hippo,” this 90-pound sweetheart is the epitome of a loyal companion! Yuli is happiest when he's close to his humans, whether that means curling up beside you with his head in your lap or trotting along at your side with a rope toy in his mouth. He’ll gently nudge you for belly rubs, lean in for snuggles, or suggest a friendly game of tug with those big, soulful eyes. He thrives on routine, feels most secure when he knows what to expect, and benefits from calm, structured transitions when something new is happening in the home, and truly bonds deeply with his people. Yuli is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows a full repertoire of commands, including sit, stay, off, leave it, and even spin! His energy is moderate, he enjoys a solid daily walk and a few rousing rounds of fetch with his favorite ball, but after that, he’s all about those cozy afternoon naps. A true gentleman indoors, Yuli knows the difference between chew toys and furniture, although he’s a self-proclaimed “Super Chewer” who does best with durable nylon or rubber toys. Social with people, Yuli has made fast friends with many of the humans in his neighborhood and enjoys greeting familiar faces on his strolls. In the home, he can take a little time to settle when unfamiliar guests first arrive and may bark excitedly at new visitors until he feels comfortable. This is not aggressive or protective behavior, and he does best with a calm introduction and a short decompression period (often with a chew or crate time) before joining the group. Once he knows someone, he greets them happily without barking. He’s especially compatible with adults and older children (ages 10+) who understand the art of a gentle pat rather than a tight hug, he’s affectionate but doesn’t love being grabbed. Yuli’s one challenge lies in his leash reactivity. He’s working on staying calm and focused in the presence of other dogs, especially when approached suddenly by off-leash pups. He would flourish with an experienced and patient pet parent committed to ongoing positive reinforcement and behavior support. Because of this, Yuli is best suited to be the only pet in a home with a fenced yard where he can safely explore, fetch, and sniff to his heart’s content. With a chicken allergy, Yuli requires a chicken-free diet tailored to support his sensitive skin. Aside from that, he’s a healthy, happy boy eager to share his next chapter with a confident guardian who can help him feel secure and supported. Could Yuli be the snuggle-loving sidekick your family’s been waiting for? Contact adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more! Content Notice: This pet is represented by Joyful Pets.
