Marlee is a fun name for a fun gal! I was living my life and having some fun, except no one got me "fixed" so the fun ended up with me being a single mother with 6 hungry mouths to feed!!! Who thinks that their fun will lead to months of feeding and my milk producers dragging on the ground :( I sure didn't... However, I LOVE MY BABIES!!! Now that they are on their own in foster homes, that is :) I am a fun gal, I love to play with my friends and I am great with other playful and fun dogs. I am a climber and a jumper so it may be why I was out playing in the first place.... but I digress... I am happy and sweet and I have the gorgeous soft, PLENTIFUL muzzle of a Shar Pei, with the energy of a lab or shepherd or who knows what other breed I am. But, I am one of the lucky ones! I was even adopted 3 years ago!!! However, my luck ran out when my owner died and his kids couldn't keep me.... SO here I am again, pleading for the right family to adopt me!!! I want to find a home who loves me and won't mind a little **crinkle, crinkle** in the middle of the night. I am only about 5 yrs old and 40#. I can't wait to be the queen of your home. Must know about my breed, we are great great dogs but have our little idiosyncrasies. I'm Dobby, your future snuggle buddy! I'm a 1-year-old male Shar Pei weighing in at about 41 pounds (though I'm still working on gaining a few more). My foster parents say I’m the happiest boy around, and they’re not wrong—I love people and other dogs, and I’m always up for a cuddle or an adventure!  I have a couple of quirks you should know about. My skin and stomach are a little sensitive, so I’m on a special diet to keep me feeling my best. But don’t worry—it’s all manageable, and I’m thriving! I’m potty trained, and when you’re not home, I’ll be a perfect angel, free-roaming the house and keeping watch out the front window.  At home, I’m a professional snuggler. Whether we’re lounging on the couch or you’re tucked into bed, I want to be as close to you as possible. I’d love to share your bed, but I’m fine sleeping on my own bed on the floor too—as long as I’m in the same room as you. If you leave me alone in another room, I might bark at first, but I usually settle down after about 10 minutes.  I get along great with other dogs, though I’m still learning my manners with the bigger ones and can be a little too enthusiastic when meeting new friends on leash. I’m working on my leash training (a front-hook harness helps a lot!), but I do pull and need more practice. Speaking of training, I know “sit,” and I’m eager to learn more with your help!  I love chewing on hard bones and am just starting to enjoy softer toys. Treats are great too, but because of my sensitive tummy, I don’t get too many. I’m respectful with cats, and I’m fine as an only dog as long as I get lots of attention from my humans.  Oh, and about the yard—I don’t need a fence as long as you’re willing to take me on leash for potty breaks and exercise. I’m still learning not to try and sneak through the fence, so for now, I need to be on a leash outside.  All in all, I’m just a sweet, squishy-faced, fat-lipped lovebug who’s looking for a family to give me belly rubs, patience as I keep learning, and a whole lot of love. Since leaving the shelter, Aimee has become so much more relaxed, and her loving, loyal nature truly shines. Update 11.8.24  Meet Zeke, the Charismatic Country Boy! Are you ready to fall head over paws in love with a dog who will capture your heart with his affectionate nature, playful antics, and rugged charm? Look no further than Zeke, the lovable Boxer/Mastiff cross who's been stealing hearts in his foster home for the past month. This gentle giant loves people, and people love him right back! Zeke is a social butterfly who thrives on human interaction, whether it's cuddling up on the couch for movie nights or greeting new friends with a wagging tail. His friendly demeanor makes him a perfect companion for families, singles, and seniors alike. Zeke is a natural-born cuddlebug who adores snuggling up with his humans, but he's also happy to be an only dog, enjoying all the attention and affection to himself. He's lived harmoniously with another dog in his foster home, but we recommend a slow introduction to ensure a peaceful coexistence (don't worry, our rescue team will guide you through the process!).
