This friend has just arrived to us on transport from a high-intake shelter partner! When our friends are new to us, we are often unsure of their full background. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we often are unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Barkley is an approximately 9 month old Shar Pei mix. He is neutered, up to date on all of his vaccines and testing! Barkley is eligible for foster-to-adopt or adoption. Barkley is OK with cats, and LOVES to play with other dogs! We believe he would do well in a home with either or both! When he wants something, he can nip lightly at your ankles, and he is working on stopping that behavior, but for that reason, we do not suggest he go to a home with young children. His foster mom describes his temperament as good natured. She says he working on crate training now; he doesn’t like being crated and makes a fuss for five minutes or so, then is quiet. He is smart and eager to please. He does well walking on the leash with minimal pulling. With time and consistency, Shar Pei puppy Barkley will be the perfect addition to any home! Clara, an adorable mix of Shar Pei and Shepherd, was born on December 20, 2023. and when mature, will probably weigh around 45 pounds. This sweet girl has an excellent temperament and gets along well with every human, canine, and feline that she crosses paths with. She's also one fine looking pup, sporting a short tricolor coat. Her silly puppy antics make her a pure delight! She's ready to share all her love and joy with her furever family (TN, 05/08/24) Lower Fees: Adoption Fee: $150.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $100.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. I recently moved and am not allowed to have pets at my new residence. Billion is a 3 year old shar-pei mix male. He is up to date on his rabies vaccine and he’s neutered. He makes a great family pet and does well with children of all ages. He shows no aggression and has no behavioral issues. He is crate trained and resides there while I’m at work during the day. When he is out his cage he is supervised at all times. He does not urinate or defecate in his cage throughout the day. He’s overall a happy pup and loves to play around, go for walks, and play outside. His activity level is mid but gets anxious and excited at times. He would need a fenced in yard to play around in. Billion is independent but will attach to whomever cares for him the most. He’s normally not around other pets but when he is he shows no aggression towards them. Billion makes a great family pet and is very lovable. I acquired him from 1st State Shar Pei.
