Coco Foster/Home Needed –Long Island, NY Meet Coco. This gorgeous girl is a Shar Pei mix, about 8yrs old and weighs roughly 50lbs. Coco likes people and everyone she meets falls in love with her. The staff at her current shelter adore her and say she is easy to manage. She is fine with other dogs in most situations, but she gets a little nervous if they invade her personal space. She is attracted to puppies and calm dogs, but is not a fan of felines. She is interested in kids but children over 13yrs would be best. Unlike many dogs, storms and fireworks do not bother Coco. She’s not necessarily a lap dog but she loves to be with her people. She likes car rides and naps, she loves to be brushed and she’s good in the bath. Coco loves water and is a good swimmer. She grows weary of the shelter life but absolutely shines outside of there. She’s very agile and smart. Coco is house trained, crate trained and good on a leash. She is spayed and UTD on all. Mia is a beautiful 10-month old girl who deserves to be in a loving home. She’s been surrendered with her mom by their owner who no longer could care for them so our rescued offered a foster home for Mia. Her mom is pure breed Shar Pei and the father mix breed. She is safe now and ready to be scooped by her own people! Mia’s adapted to New York City incredibly fast as she is very smart dog! She is confident, obedient and curious about the world around her. She is being fostered with two other dogs and a cat with whom, after proper introduction she bonded well. She even wants to play with a cat who is a boss of the household. She let her furry roommate dogs take her chewing stick so she learned sharing skills. She is a dog that loves affection more than anything, and if you're looking for a dog who loves her person, she would be a perfect fit. As young pup she is full of energy, playful and very athletic. Her ideal home would be one with or without another dog, a fenced in yard, where she could expend her energy. She could also do well in the city if taken on frequent walks. Respectful older children (15+) and someone who works from home, at least part of the day is a must. Mandatory dog training is required to adopt Mia as she needs to learn how to behave properly. Since she is still a young pup with high energy she gets excited when she sees another dog passing her by. Currently she goes on pack walks every day so she is learning how to behave. She is house-broken and crate trained but she prefers to be near her foster mom either on a couch or a floor. This stunning girl is very loving, loyal and will get attached to her human. From her teeny tiny ears to her puppy-like eyes, this sweet, small lady is the most adorable gal on the block (and TikTok, if you've seen her gain a small following there!) Okra has adjusted to city life seamlessly and quickly since arriving over the weekend. She has zero qualms about city noises and commotion, she shows no negative reaction to other dogs (big or small!) on leash and walks great on her leash. Okra loves going on walkies -- she will do excited hops and spins while she waits for you to grab her leash and put your shoes on. She also is already potty trained! This smarty girl will scratch at the door to tell you she needs to go. And she hasn't had an accident in her crate over night. Okra's favorite thing is being by your side. She will make little noises and cries, then nudge under your hand so she can obtain ultimate chin scratches. Then, she'll flop to her back so she can get belly rubs. She loves to curl up by your side and snooze while you work, read or relax. Toys and playing with her foster sister aren't of much interest to her, but treats (she came knowing paw, sit and down!) are her true love!

When Jody and Buffy were first seen, they roamed the streets with their mother and siblings. It took some time to trap these two. The 3rd sibling was hit by a truck trailer and passed away. The mother and 4th dog were never seen again. When they came to us, they were very skinny and had very bad skin. Good food and vet care, and they are now healthy and ready to go home. Born sometime in April 2023 Jody weighs 35 lbs. in mid-December Loves being patted He sleeps up against the foster. He would love attention and love and it would affect on his trust of you. We suspect she was Buffy and Jody's third sibling, who disappeared with their momma when we saved them from the highway. Two days after arrival, she gave birth to nine beautiful puppies.
