Story
Fiddle recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what his DDO buddy had to say!
1st DDO:
"I was lucky to spend a relaxing few hours with Fiddle today, a mellow and fun-loving boy! He jumps right in the car and is content quietly looking out at the world. We hiked several miles in Gibson Park, had a picnic, then mingled with people at PetSmart. He shared with me that he is:
- Friendly towards people
- Only mildly interested in wild animals.
- A joy to walk (see videos).
- Happy to bury some bones.
- Not keen on getting his feet wet.
- Treat-motivated and gentle with them.
- Quick on the "sit" command.
- Quiet and never barked.
Fiddle is just a handsome, gentle, and fun boy ready to bring joy into someone's home. He's waiting for you at Guilford County Animal Services and can be adopted 12-4:00 pm any day but Tuesday."
2nd DDO:
"FIDDLE was such a fun companion for my most recent Dogs Day Out! We started out the morning at the Sweetwater Court Sniffspot, where he spent the whole hour playing with toys, rolling in the grass, and laying in the shade. After that, we spent some time at my parents' house in the kitchen and backyard where he really enjoyed laying on the cold floor since it was a hot day. He was so playful and fun to be with! Before we went back to the shelter, we took a short walk on a shady trail and enjoyed our last hour together.
- Fiddle is a 5 yr old Boxer mix neutered male. He is 52 lbs and HW Negative
- Loved playing with toys, very playful
- Took treats gently
- Amazing car rider, barked once when he saw a dog in the parking lot of the trail but other than that not a sound
- Very sweet natured and gentle, jumped up a little with excitement but was easily redirected and didn't show any signs of mouthiness
- Respectful of the small area we explored in the house which was the kitchen, didn't jump on counters or chew anything
- Great walker, no pulling at all"
As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines.
To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
