Story
From Legacy's foster caregiver: "If you're looking for your new cuddle buddy, then Legacy is the dog for you! From the minute he left the shelter, he has been nothing but sweet and loving. He is an older guy, so he won't be your exercise partner but he makes a great nap partner! Since he spent so long in the shelter, he is having to relearn some younger dog things but he is a quick learner and wants to please. He loves to eat and snack on treats. He takes medications well so you will have no problems giving him any if needed. We don't know this guy's backstory but his body tells a tale of hardship. Despite all of this, he is a very loving dog who will be your best friend. He is quiet and does well in his crate. He gets along well with cats and dogs (as long as you keep food and toys separate). He does well getting a bath too! He isn't a fan of the dryer, but who can blame him? He deserves the most loving retirement home to live out the rest of his days. " If you are interested in meeting Legacy, please contact Kendelle Federico at 336-266-4138 via text message or email kfederico@guilfordcountync.gov.

The big brown eyes and sweet, smiling face greeting you this morning belong to Calypso! This little girl is only about 6 months old and came to us a bit underweight, but she`s getting plenty of good, healthy food to help her fill out a little. She enjoyed outdoor play time this weekend and clearly enjoys playing with tennis balls! Calypso is a friendly, happy, and very playful girl who will make a terrific addition to just about any home. Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Capone was found in June 2021 being dumped near the train tracks at 14 weeks old. I’ve had him ever since, but I cannot consistently provide the care and attention he needs. Like all dogs he has his quirks, but overall he is a happy, sweet, and adventurous dog. He’s very playful with other dogs, but he does better with females as other male dogs seem intimidated by him. He was friendly with cats as a puppy, but hasn’t been around them recently. He is quite big for babies/toddlers, but children are fine with supervision. He has already been returned to me once so I’d prefer for there to be a home visit, meet and greets, and a rehoming agreement. The rehoming fee will go towards buying new things for his forever home.

Story
Maple is a wiggly butted ball of affection. She was adopted in October 2021 from the local shelter at just 27 pounds and full of heartworms. She’s now a very healthy 45 pounds and heartworm free! We sent off for her DNA and we’re surprised to find she is an purebred American Pit Bull Terrier. We have 4 cats and 2 children, 12-14 who Maple gets along with perfectly. Our reasoning for rehoming is that Maple has become territorial around our other dogs and it has caused several fights. At this point it’s safest for all dogs that they be separated for good. Maple would be the perfect dog for an energetic family with a yard to play in. We have a wireless fence, brand new/never used that can accompany Maple to her new home. Maple knows basic commands and a few tricks. She sits, stays, lays down, gives paw, and hugs on command. She would be very trainable by someone with the right experience and time.

Story
I’m about 3-years-old and I spent most of my life on a chain. I’m not sure why they did that to me cause I’m a super sweet really good boy. The lady who had me finally agreed to let animal control take me since I was very emaciated and sad. I then spent 77 days at the shelter. That’s a pretty long time for a doggie cause like Neil Degrasse Tyson says, one day for us is like one week for humans. When my foster mom found out I was scheduled to be euthanized cause no one was interested in me she got me out of there. Whew! My foster mom says I’m such a sweet goofball, typical pitbull personality. I get the zoomies. I LOVE tug. I make her laugh all the time. Sometimes I get excited and try to play tug with something that isn’t mine but I’m not terrible about it. I’m good with other dogs and human kids too. My foster mom says I’m a champ about pottying. I’ll hold it for hours and hours.
