Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from South Plains SPCA in Lubbock, Texas, mom and single puppy, mom is HW+ and will need 2-3 months of heartworm treatment, then spayed. Single puppy is Willow, approximately 7 weeks old. **If you would like to meet Ruby, please email us at info@coloradopuppy.org; Ruby does not attend adoption events and is available for private meet-and-greets only.** From the foster: Ruby is a loving and gentle angel of a dog! Her favorite thing to do is stare into her humans eyes, or cuddle as close as possible on the couch. Ruby has never met a stranger. She loves everyone who walks through the door - you’d think she’s known them forever. Ruby is extremely patient and tolerant and eager to please. She goes into her crate without a problem and doesn’t make a peep when she’s inside. She is not crated while her foster mom is at work and she is completely happy just lounging on the couch. She has no destructive behavior at all. She is acing potty training but will hold it all day in her crate, and just needs a potty break before a long time in the house with no outside access. She alerts her foster mom that she needs to go outside by going and standing in front of the door. She would use her doggie sisters’ dog door if she could fit through it. She lives happily with 3 small doggie foster sisters. She has no resource guarding of toys, food, or her humans. Ruby is still learning how to play! It took her about a month to choose a toy from the toy bin and actually play with it. She doesn’t totally understand tug of war but her foster sisters are trying to teach her. Because Ruby is such a gentle and loving girl, her foster thinks that while she would tolerate just about anything, she would be happiest in a home with other gentle dogs (or she’d be fine as a solo dog as well - she doesn’t need another dog in the home to be happy or comfortable). A doggie behavioralist noted that Ruby doesn’t quite know what to do with herself around other dogs. She’s awkward so if she does have another doggie buddy, then a confident and socially savvy friend or someone who she doesn’t really notice would be a good match. Ruby is not tested with cats or children yet. Her gentle and tolerant demeanor suggests she would be excellent with humans of all sizes and would probably be ok with cats but does have a tendency to want to chase squirrels and birds. She does not jump or bark - she’s barked about 5 times in the 4 months she’s been in foster - one of which was at the robot vacuum. Ruby will need some training on walks as she’s not gotten much practice due to her heart worm treatment. She pulls to greet other dogs (and squirrels). Ruby is truly as close to perfect as they come. She will be the most amazing, loving, cuddly, gentle addition to any home. All this girl wants is love 🩷 www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Single female, aged approximately 1 year old, transferred from 806 K9s after being pulled from a euthanasia list at a shelter in Texas. She was believed to be pregnant upon intake at the shelter; however, an ultrasound later confirmed that no puppies were present. It is unknown whether she experienced a miscarriage or had recently given birth prior to intake. She was spayed, up to date on vaccinations at the time of intake, and cleared of screwworm concerns prior to transport. From the foster: My bio is coming soon! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Litter of five (2F, 3M) puppies transferred from Stray Hearts Animal Shelter in NM at approximately 2 months old. No information known about their story before arrival with rescue partner. From the foster: Gavin is a sweet, gentle big boy with the kindest soul. He can be a little shy when meeting new people or experiencing new things, but once he realizes he's safe, his loving personality shines through. Gavin adores people, kids, other dogs, and snuggling up close to his favorite humans. He's doing great with potty training and is already learning that outside is the place to do his business. One thing is for sure—Gavin never wants to miss a meal! This handsome boy is looking for a patient family who will help him continue building confidence while showering him with love. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
