Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Single male transferred from Stray Hearts Animal Shelter in NM. No information known about story before rescue. Came to CPR at approximately 3 months old. From the foster: Wallace is the type of puppy that makes it seem like having a puppy is easy. That makes you want to have four dogs even though the county says three is the max. The kind that makes you think getting a second pup is really the only reasonable option. In other words, he is a fantastic puppy. He is the whole package: fun, playful, independent and just about the cutest. He will be easy to train. He is still working on his puppy manners but he responds really well to redirection. He has some herding tendencies and can startle easily so he’ll need patience and correction from other dog friends and if families have small children. Lots of toys are a must. He’ll be easy to continue potty training as he knows outside means it’s time for business. He will also be sleeping through the night before you know it. He whines or sometimes cries when first going into his kennel but he settles within a few minutes. Wallace really prefers Wally, and will be an absolute gem to make your forever friend! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: 10-month-old mixed breed male transferred from Rebel All Breed Rescue in New Mexico. The dog came with the name “Rocky.” Rocky was pulled from a partner shelter approximately 30 minutes before he was scheduled to be euthanized due to space limitations. Rocky was transferred into rescue placement to continue care and be placed for adoption. From the foster: Im a lover not a fighter! Don't let the name Rocky fool you into believing I'm anything but a sweet pup. I love my people. Being near them makes me happy. I like to play with my stuffed bee, go for walks(which I'm pretty dang good on the leash if I don't say so myself), play fetch with the ball(but I won't always give it back to you), chew on my bones and toys(but never on things I shouldn't), and go potty outside(I've yet to have an accident in the house). My foster family adores me and so I sleep amazingly well in my kennel so they'll have the energy to play with me during the day(sometimes you have to give me some encouragement to get into the kennel but once I'm there I'm happy and sleep all night). I definitely took a day to get my nerves out but once I did I'm comfortable laying on my blanket near my people. I will be an amazing addition to the family that is lucky to get me! It'd be a true knockout win!! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Story
Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Litter of 9 (5F, 4M) transferred from Operation Pawprints in TX. Employee of a news station that works with one of CPR's rescue partners found a pregnant stray mama dog and took her in. Rescue partner got involved to help and eventually transferred 9 puppies to CPR at approximately 3 months old. Mama was spayed and adopted by the finder. From the foster: Gracie Lou Freebush (AKA Gracie) is no Ms. Congeniality. She has the main character energy IF you give her the chance to thrive. Her first impression is that she is super shy and anxious. That’s fair. She has been through so much in even the past week, yet here she is. Thriving in foster care. First impressions… let’s talk about her. She gets overwhelmed with a new situation. At first in my backyard. She hid in a corner. It took a friendly dog to show her that she didn’t have to hide. He showed her the yard that was now hers. She quickly warmed up to the three resident dogs. She would love to have another pup to show her the ropes. She is food motivated! She isn’t a picky eater at all. You should use a slow bowl to slow her down as she will eat fast. There is no evidence of food aggression and she eats well with other pups. Potty training is still a work in progress. She is in female dog diapers here so she doesn’t have accidents. She will go outside to play and forget to go potty, so it’s very important to keep an eye on her and reward her when she does go potty. Crate training is a work in progress. She does not like to sleep in her crate. We do have her sleeping in a dog bed at the base of the bed on the floor. We tell her to “lay” and then give her a reward. She will put her big gorgeous paws up on the bed and want a kiss. I give her one and let her kiss me too. I pet her and say “lay”. And she has learned this routine with consistency. Gracie is the ultimate magnet dog. I can predict her being close to 80 pounds and just laying on your lap because let’s face it, she’s a big goofball. She has such a hilarious personality and she needs the right people to be patient with her as she finds her way home for the last time. She does enjoy harder chew toys. She loves buffalo horns which you can find at Dollar Tree and the various hard toys from Home Goods stores. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
