Story
Monty is a lovable, sweet-natured pup who’s always up for a car ride and never turns down a peanut butter lick mat! He’s an excellent leash-walker and feels right at home on busy trails, making him a great companion for outdoor adventures. While Monty is full of love, he can be a bit sensitive to loud noises like fireworks or unexpected knocks at the door—he’ll thrive in a calm, understanding home that gives him a sense of security. Monty enjoys social time with other dogs and can have dog friends, but he needs to be the only animal in the home. He does best without sharing his living space with other pets, where he can relax and feel safe.

***NOTE: This pet is currently at the shelter in Republic, WA, and can be delivered to an approved adopter on our 5/2/26 adopted pet transport to Monroe, WA to begin a 30-day trial placement – part of our distance adoption program.*** Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. When applying for one of the pups, please let us know your top 3-6 choices in order of preference, so we can match you to the pup closest to the top of your list. Introducing the Italian Renaissance litter! These adorable pups came in as a Stop the Cycle litter, and have been at the shelter since they were just 2 weeks old; they and their mom came in for care and socializing until the pups were weaned, now mom is spayed and back home (dad is scheduled for neuter, too, under our Stop the Cycle program). Photos of mom (black & white) and dad (brown) are on our website listings. Their owner says dad has some Weimaraner in the mix, but it doesn't show in appearance; these little meatballs all look like adorable pitties. One of the best parts about adopting a pup who has been at the shelter most of their lives: you know their ENTIRE HISTORY. You know they had all their age appropriate vaccines at the right times. You know they have been monitored to make sure all were eating and growing appropriately. You know they have met all sorts of different humans during their time at the shelter, and have been handled and loved since arrival. Yay! These pups are social and playful, and will make excellent family pets! We'd guess adult weights between 45 - 60 pounds, but as always with unknown mixed breeds, your puppy may vary! The litter includes (with their weight as of 4/9/26 - 7 weeks old): CATERINA female, grey & white 9.77# LUCREZIA female, white & black 8.92# COSIMO male, dark grey & white 10.67# MADDALENA female, brown & white 9.82# OLIMPIA female, dark grey & white 8.32# FRANCESCA female, black & white 9.04# Puppies require a lot of human interaction, and all puppies will benefit from obedience training and full immersion in their human household. These pups' ideal homes will have someone who can exercise them with a couple of energetic walks each day, plus commitment to training them how to be the best dogs they can be. They hope to have very few hours per day when they will be without the companionship of a human or other pet, and will reward their forever people with boundless love and loyalty! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $175 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Meet Bruce, also known as "The Bruce Dozer," an unbelievably resilient 65-pound survivor who is ready to plow his way into your heart just like he does when he’s looking for affection. Though he is only two years old and a bit shorter in stature, he is built like a tank and possesses a strength that matches his incredible spirit. Bruce came to us with a severe injury to his back paw, but he is mending beautifully and greets every visitor with a wagging tail, a huge smile, and plenty of kisses. This sweet boy absolutely thrives on human companionship and will happily spend hours being petted, rewarding your attention with a unique "happy grunt" that sounds like a tiny, awake-but-snoring noise. Because he is still healing from surgery, his activity is currently limited, making him the perfect co-pilot for a quiet, cozy home while he finishes his recovery. Once he is fully healed, however, he will be ready for endless rounds of play. Bruce is already housetrained and loves people of all shapes and sizes, though he does need to be the only pet in the home as he doesn't get along with cats and his status with other dogs is still being tested. If you have a pet-free home and a heart ready for a sturdy, loving bestie who has proven he can overcome anything, The Bruce Dozer is waiting for you. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Bruce is a suggested minimum of $150 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you!
