Story
Timothy | Male | 6 years | German Shepherd Timothy is a classic shepherd with a soft heart and steady soul. He bonds closely with “his people,” greeting them with happy tail wags and leaning in for ear scratches. At six, he’s mature and calm but still enjoys a good game of fetch and a sniffy walk. Timothy knows basic cues, is eager to please, and settles nicely in the home. He’ll do best with adopters who appreciate shepherd smarts and will keep his mind engaged with gentle training, enrichment, and routine. Timothy would love: Daily walks and quality time with his family A stable home that offers structure and positive reinforcement Mental enrichment (training games, puzzle feeders, nose work) A comfy bed close to where his people are Could be a fit for: most homes that understand the GSD breed. If you have resident pets or kids, we’ll help with slow, thoughtful introductions. Ready to give Timothy the loving home he deserves? 👉 Apply or inquire at washingtongsd.org

Juniper is a happy, friendly, adorable girl.  She is affectionate and playful!!  She loves to play ball!!  Juniper loves to hang out with you or play in the yard.  She is affectionate and loves to give kisses once she knows you.  Some people scare her, but once she knows you she is darling and playful.  She is so eager to please.  Juniper will need a home with a fenced yard.  Juniper found herself as a young pup in a shelter in California.  She was adopted and then found herself back at the shelter after she was hit by a car.  She then made her way to us as a 'greyhound mix'.  She is beyond darling and is so deserving of a true forever home.  She has a slight head tilt (adorable) and has some hip dysplasia which may need surgery (but that is not a given) as she ages, but now she is absolutely happy and playful.  We did a DNA test on Juniper and we were amazed to see that her mix is 45% German Shepherd, 42% American Staffordshire Terrier, 11% American Pit Bull Terrier and 2% Australian Cattle Dog.  We would never have guessed that she had any Terrier in her - she is a gentle, sweet soul and has a coat more like a Labrador or short coated Golden Retriever.  And while her 'greyhound' roots are not to be found, she is an adorable member of our GPI family and we can't wait to find this darling girl her forever home.  Juniper has made great progress in addressing the reactivity issues and she is expected to continue to make great strides with consistent training.  Juniper is a past Dog of the Month: https://www.greyhoundpetsinc.org/juniper-march-dog-of-the-month-copy/ Sponsored by Kristy Spray Sponsored by Kathleen Meyers, in memory of Roxy. Story
Nough is a 1 year old German Shepherd. He is happy, energetic and an attention lover. He is very social and loves to meet new people. He does really well out and about greeting new people nicely, accepting pets and treats from them. He is able is sit quietly and watch other dogs. He is a calm car rider too. Nough is great with other dogs he has met and is currently being fostered with both a female and male dog in the household. He loves to run and explore with them. He is also fostered with 2 cats and except for offering a gentle greeting, generally ignores them. Nough knows basic commands such as sit and come. He is working on improving his stay and his wait but he is a quick learner. He is easy to walk on a leash, no pulling and checks in on the leash holder. He wants to please, and get petted; consistency is the key with this one. He is totally housebroken Potty and non destructive. He stays loose in the house 100% of the time even when his foster mom is at work. He is high energy and best kept busy with activities and training. Although he calms down and relaxes nicely in the house. He would do good in a structured environment. He would do best with an active family and a playmate of similar size who likes to run and play. No matter what he's doing, he's all about his person and will check in with them.

Story
Lucy is large and in charge; everything she does is full force. Lucy is the epitome of the second child. She wasn’t first out of the gate, but she caught up quickly and overtook her big sister to be the leader of the pack. She is growing into her size and learning how to focus her significant strength. She takes the lead when playing with her siblings, exploring her environment and finding new toys to parade around the paddock. She is assertive and knows what she likes. Lucy plays hard, snuggles hard, and sleeps hard. Lucy also values her “me time” and is happy to curl up in a snuggly bed for a nap, but she’s ready to play whenever you are. She signals for bathroom breaks and is doing great at potty training. Lucy will do well as an only dog or in an all male household. If you’re looking for a teddy bear with a big personality, Lucy is your girl.
