Story
Piper is an energetic girl who LOVES her people! Even though Piper is blind, she is very responsive to her Caregivers and is excelling in her clicker training. Piper was rescued by Pasado's Safe Haven from a high volume shelter in Texas where she was at risk of euthanasia. Right off the transport vehicle, she was ready to give everyone kisses and hugs and this hasn't stopped! Piper doesn't always know her size, so she can be a little excited when showing her love. She is working on muzzle training for situations where she may get mouthy. This girl is a great example of the beauty a blind dog can see in the world. Piper is always happy and her body is always wiggling with joy! If you want to give this beautiful and cheerful girl her forever loving home, apply today! *Piper requires a 13+ household and one without small animals. Story
Basil is one special pup, and he's looking for an equally special human. This 5-year-old Pit Bull mix is sweet and loving, but it can take him some time to feel comfortable around new people. But the wait is worth it! Once he trusts you, Basil is cuddly, playful, and silly. He loves treats and will beg for more in the cutest way - it usually involves perked ears, head tilts, and precious chatter. He also thinks toys are super fun and enjoys chasing them around at zooming speeds. Basil is looking to be the center of his human's universe and be the only pet in his new home. Basil is looking for a dog-experienced home with just adults where he can settle in at his own pace. If you think Basil may be your match, read below how to meet him! *Basil's adoption fee is waived in thanks to a generous donor and our Pay it Forward program.Basil's adoption process is a little different from the other animals in our care, so here's what you can expect:1. If you're interested in Basil, please email behavior@homewardpet.org and a member of our staff will call you to discuss everything there is to know about him.2. If you and Basil seem like a great fit for each other, we will set up a time for you to come in and meet him at the shelter. We need every member of the household to visit. 3. Unlike most of our adoptions, Basil will not be ready to go home with you the same day you come in to meet him. We will schedule multiple visits so that he can start to feel comfortable and learn to trust you. The more often you can come in to spend time with him, the faster this process will go!4. If everything is going well after multiple visits, you can take Basil home to foster for a few weeks to ensure he's the right match before adopting. You'll stay in contact with our Behavior Program staff to receive support and provide updates along the way!

Story
Say hello to Dottie! Dottie is a gorgeous 1 year old pocket pittie with enough rambunctious cuteness to melt anyone's heart! This gorgeous girl will draw you in with her dual colored eyes and fun personality, but needs an active and adventurous home to keep up with her! Dottie is currently in a foster home in the greater Seattle area and is available for meet and greets with approved adopters! To be considered, please fill out an application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DDRS/Dog Dottie was found wandering the streets of Texas by a Good Samaritan. They were able to catch her and reached out to Doggedly to see if we could help! One of our volunteers was able to foster her for a short time before finding a permanent foster in Houston, where she has started to blossom! Now this sweet girl is ready to find her forever home in the Pacific Northwest. Dottie is a high energy pup who loves to run! She would do great with an active family who loves to hike, go on daily walks/runs and bring her along for all their adventures! Dottie is a lot of fun and would thrive in an active home with bully breed experience. Dottie loves to run and chase, loves getting hosed down on hot days, and loves to lay out in the sun. Dottie is a big-time snuggler. She is extremely people oriented and would love nothing more to snuggle with her human in bed, hang out on the couch with a bone and chill when she is at home. Dottie loves to explore, and loves to investigate! When not kenneled, she will need durable fencing, so she does not go on her own little adventure. She is very intelligent and resourceful pup who knows how to open sliding doors, doors with pull-down handles, and doors with latches. She needs a home with training experience, who can properly expend her energy by keeping her physically and mentally stimulated by both training and activity. Dottie has had a long journey with the rescue. In Houston, Dottie lived in a foster home with 2 small dogs, kids and a senior cat. With slow decompression, she did wonderful with the pack, but once she traveled to the Pacific Northwest, Dottie had some instability and bounced from home to home. She was placed with an experienced foster several months ago to attend professional training. Dottie has thrived and is now ready to find the perfect forever home who can continue the work we have put into helping Dottie live her best life. Dottie is excellent with people, but can be a little nervous with other dogs at first introduction. Dottie needs to sniff and get comfortable with other dogs for a few days before she can be calm and playful with them. Dottie does best with calmer, older, large male dogs that can match her strength. There is some resource-guarding around meal time, so feeding her in her kennel is recommended. Dottie is potty trained, and doing great with basic commands and leash training. Dottie is a pup who will need lots of mental enrichment from her people or she may exhibit some naughty puppy behaviors like chewing, but with continued training and some patience she will continue to mature into an amazing girl! Dottie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. The only thing she is missing is you! If you're interested in this stunning girl apply to bring her home today.

Story
Meet Charlotte! Charlotte is a one-year-old boxer pit bull mix with a heart full of love and a personality that's larger than life! Charlotte is a unique pup, as she was born deaf, but that hasn't slowed her down one bit. In fact, she's learned to communicate in her own special way, using her paws, tail, and facial expressions to express herself. Charlotte loves to watch you in the kitchen and will often help you look for whats best to eat in the fridge. She also loves to run up behind you and stick her head between your legs - this is her way of telling you she wants attention. Despite her disability, Charlotte is an energetic and playful pup, always eager to run and explore her surroundings. She loves to play fetch, chase after toys, and wrestle with her favorite humans. Charlotte also adores being showered with affection, and will often snuggle up close to her humans for cuddles and belly rubs and butt scratches! Charlotte's foster parents often remark on her outgoing and friendly nature. She's never met a stranger and loves to greet both humans and dogs with wagging tail and happy grin. Her love of life and positive attitude are infectious, and everyone who meets her can't help but fall in love with this sweet and charismatic pup. Although Charlotte may face unique challenges due to her deafness, her foster is dedicated to providing her with all the training they can. They've already begun training her using hand signals and visual cues, and Charlotte is a quick learner. Charlotte knows sit, shake with both paws, know where the threat jar is after coming inside, and will even let you know she needs to go potty by ringing the bells at the door. With a loving and supportive family by her side, there's no doubt that Charlotte will continue to thrive and bring joy to everyone she meets. If you are interested in adopting Charlotte please fill out an application here: https://www.doggedly.org/adoption-app

Story
It's easy to fall in love with that spotted nose and handsome pittie smile! Meet Niko, your DREAM DOG. If this handsome 1-year-old, 45lb stunner doesn't steal your heart on looks alone, wait until you meet him and get to know his incredible personality! Handsome Niko is available for adoption in the Pacific Northwest and would love to find a foster or forever home. Please apply at www.doggedly.org/adoption-app to be considered! Niko's story is a sad one. This little heartthrob ended up in a Texas shelter in October, after being dumped by his owner at an apartment complex. Niko waited for days outside their door until animal control came to pick him up. They claimed that Niko wasn't their dog, so he was taken to the pound where he became a staff favorite. Despite his tough start, Niko is an absolute dream dog who is super friendly with other dogs and adores children. He loves to play and has lots of energy when romping around with his furry friends, but he also knows how to be calm and relaxed in public. Niko has the sweetest personality. He has a super gentle temperament and appears a little shy at first. In reality, he is just a mellow and laid-back dog, who loves everyone and everything! He loves to play, but also has an "off button" which makes him the perfect active couch potato companion! Niko loves to chase birds but is amazingly calm and gentle with babies, strollers, strangers on walks, and people riding bikes. This guy loves to hang out at the coffee shop, where he will plop down on the ground and just chill with you as you have your morning coffee, patiently waiting for his walk. Niko has been the perfect guest in his foster home and quickly makes friends with everyone he meets. He shares toys, loves to snuggle, and is a perfect gentleman when sleeping on the bed-- he will curl up at the foot of the bed in a little ball! Once Niko has a little time to warm up, his excited side comes out, which consists of little morning dances on the bed every morning when you wake up. You'll never find a cuter mascot to greet you in the morning with his happy little dance! If you forget to feed Niko, he will use his big boy bark to let you know, but otherwise, this little guy is quiet as a mouse. Niko is incredibly sweet, not mouthy, and playful when appropriate. Niko is a little shy at first with new people and can be a little nervous, but loves to be cuddled, petted, and held. He is also impeccably crate trained and wonderful on a leash. Niko also enjoys car rides and loves the company of other dogs! Niko is a gentle boy who takes treats carefully, and even knows basic commands like "kennel up", "sit", and "stay". He loves to cuddle and curl up on the sofa with a toy. Niko is gentle with his toys, but will tear up a cardboard box! It's just his favorite thing to chew on! Niko is very food motivated, sweet, easygoing, and has a calm demeanor, although he loves to let loose when it's time to play with other dogs! This sweet boy had some allergies coming from the shelter but is doing much better with flea prevention, a healthy diet, and regular baths. Niko is already neutered and heartworm negative, and is ready to find his forever home in the Pacific Northwest!

Story
Introducing Shamu, the handsome 2-year-old American Bully with a heart of gold! Shamu is a striking boy with a gorgeous white and blue spotted coat and a meaty blockhead squishy face that will melt your heart. He is currently being fostered in Tacoma, Washington, and is available for meet and greets with approved adopters. Apply at www.doggedly.org/adoption-app to be considered. Despite his tough exterior, Shamu is a sweetheart who loves to give and receive affection. He was found on the streets of Texas protecting a tiny chihuahua and is extremely fond of small dogs. He is very polite and gentle with small dogs and seems to understand that he is larger than them. In fact, Shamu is great with large dogs, too, as long as they understand that he likes to stand on them and is a very cuddly boy. Shamu is good with cats as well and currently lives with a cat in his foster home who has not shown any aggression but does love to stare at the cat. Shamu would do best in a home with a very dog-savvy cat. With other dogs, Shamu is a pretty easygoing dude. He loves to play with other dogs, especially confident ones. He also loves tennis balls, going on walks and being showered with attention. Shamu is a big fan of giving hugs and being close to his humans. He will follow you everywhere and let out a little yell when he can't be by your side. In typical American Bully fashion, Shamu is an excitable boy and will do a little tap dance as he wiggles his body in excitement for your attention and can be a little mouthy. Shamu requires an owner with breed experience who can work through some of his stubborn Bully qualities such as mouthiness and jumping up for hugs. Otherwise, Shamu is a super sweet teddy bear who just wants to find the perfect family to devote himself to. Shamu is exceptional with children and spent 6-weeks in a training program in Texas with a wonderful trainer, who will provide behavior support post-adoption. Shamu is a smart boy who is eager to learn and please. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands. He is also a total couch hog and loves to curl up in bed with you, but will need an owner who can ease him into their life slowly and teach him boundaries. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, look no further than Shamu. Come meet him today and see for yourself why he's such a special boy!
