Story
Hi, I am Penny, a Husky born approx 11/22/25. I’m a very special little girl because I came all the way from Arkansas to Minnesota, carrying two names like a celebrity on tour! Down south, they called me Eleven, but when I arrived in Minnesota, all my vet records said Penny. So now I like to think of myself as a pup with bonus names—how fancy is that?! Between us, I definitely perk up more when you say Eleven—it’s unique, just like me! But I’m a smart little cookie, and I learn fast, so whatever loving name you choose, I’ll catch on quickly. e I may be tiny, but I am FULL of silliness, spunk, sass, and sparkle! I totally run the household—I mean, someone has to be in charge, right? I have two giant foster brothers (like… over 60 pounds giant!) who are pittie mixes, and I wrestle and romp with them like I’m the same size. Don’t worry—this little lady can hold her own!  My foster mom says I’m a Husky mix, and I definitely believe her because I have the cutest Husky howl. But I think I might also have a little terrier, maybe a dash of lab, and possibly a sprinkle of pittie in my magical mix! And guess what? I’ve got soft, fluffy brown fur and stunning light blue/gray eyes that everyone swoons over. I’m totally crate-trained! I eat in my crate—not because I guard my food, but because my resident brothers prefer I don’t “taste test” their meals. I don’t mind—I LOVE food so much that I dance my way right into my crate at mealtimes!  I also sleep in my crate like a sweet little angel through the whole night. I can even stay there for up to 8 hours if needed (usually just once a week). The rest of the week, I am free to roam around and crash wherever I please because my foster mom works from home. I’m working hard on potty training, and foster mom says I’m doing AMAZING! I know how to find my puppy pads when I’m not distracted by the zoomies, and when we go outside, I always go potty like a big girl. I think the puppy pads are for emergencies only, so I try my very best to wait for outside time! Thanks for reading all about me! I’m so excited to meet my forever family—I know they’re out there, and I can’t wait to wiggle my whole body with joy when I finally meet them!    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $625.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 11, 2026, 10:11 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $475 plus taxJaya is a sweet husky/german shepherd mix. She is very loving and vocal. She loves a schedule and will let you know she’s ready for bed by taking herself to her crate. She loves her crate and willingly goes in every morning when we go to work. She much prefers her crate to free roaming. She gets pretty anxious when left out alone even for a short while. Jaya is fully potty trained and we have never had an accident in the house. She loves her toys, especially her ball, and she will carry it around like a security blanket. She  has a history of guarding her toys, but when she feels comfortable she loves for you to play with her, especially fetch, though she may not give it back unless you have a spare ball to trade. She is food motivated to an extent, but can grow bored of treats and will gladly accept affection as a reward. She is very smart and well behaved. She has not chewed on anything that wasn’t hers. She will suckle her bed when she’s anxious. Jaya has reactivity on the leash especially with other dogs, but we think it stems from excitement and curiosity. She loves having people over to the house, and when we introduced her to another dog she was excited but respectful. She would thrive in a house with a fenced in yard she can run. She is making a lot of progress on the leash and though she does still have a tendency to pull, she learns quickly if you are firm and only allow her to keep walking when the leash is loose. We have also taught her to sit and get her paws wiped before she comes inside, which if kept up is very handy on muddy days. She knows all of the basic commands, and was able to learn more very quickly. She is eager to learn and loves training games. Jaya  has started Prozac for her anxiety recently and is adjusting well. She takes the medication very well when it’s in cheese or peanut butter. She is not food aggressive and will take treats very gently and will sit and wait patiently for her meals until you use a release word.  If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Story
Tulane is a shepherd mix who is just looking for a quiet home filled with love. Once he knows he's home and safe he loves nothing more than to nuzzle up close to his people and be held. His happy place is being held, and if he's in your arms he will tolerate just about anything. Tulane is an anxious dog who above all is looking for a relaxed household where he can feel safe, if you give him that, he'll give you his heart.  When the world is overwhelming, Tulane knows the best place to find his own inner peace is in a pile of throw pillows. He is regularly found on the couch tucked in between several pillows, in a fort of his own making. To help him get less overwhelmed by the world Tulane takes a daily mental health medicine with his food, he's happy to gobble it right up with his breakfast and then the world is a bit less scary.  Tulane is potty trained, crate trained, and not prone to running away, making him ready to fit into his forever home. While he’s friendly with other dogs, Tulane would be best suited to live with a very mellow other dog, or as any only dog.  Tulane has a condition called patellar luxation, affecting his kneecap, but its easily managed and doesn't impact his life much. The vet recommends avoiding long walks on pavement, however, this is a blessing in disguise because Tulane doesn't really want to go on walks! He is a homebody who is likely to run and hide when he sees the leash.  If you’re looking for an affectionate, and deeply loyal companion who will adore being by your side, Tulane is ready and waiting. Come meet him and you just might find the missing piece of your heart. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination if age appropriate, prepaid microchip, dental, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 4:11 pm
